People ask me this but I find time on the weekends and evenings...it's certainly fun but time consuming - glad you enjoyed it.

Wow this was absolutely fantastic! But my favorite part was B9. I had a crush on him in the 60's and I still do now and I am 63! Please keep the LIS uploads coming. Great job!

It is so amazing to see people that are as in love with the Jupiter 2 and it's hardware as I am. My friends and family would have me locked up if it were not for people like you. I am not alone! Your work is just wonderful!!

WOW!! Not only do you have a B9 replica with Dick Tufeld's voice announcing your creation, but you also have the Burroughs 205 panel and built your very own center console?! Man, THAT's incredible. I loved the show growing up in the 60's and all the gadgets, panels, blinker boards, etc. and you are living the dream. Ummm... your wife wouldn't happen to be Marta Kristen would she? Just kidding... congrats Phil on the excellent builds and thank you for the tour!

The upper panel needs to cover light leaking through the white board. Needs to be opaque to separate each bulb to get the effect. That is a job for fiber optics because when light gets block by even an opaque white, glass and plastic glow dark. You can lower the intensity and make individual light boxes for each bulb too.

This is so good. I love how out of context the robot looks against the colonial shutters. I have been thinking of a Jupiter 2 theme park. Any one interested in investing? Of course center stage attraction would be the Jupiter 2- set up with hydralic lifting legs to give the feel of flight and with today CGI capabilities the viewing screens would be AMAZING ! I have no shortage of ideas or package deals for families interested in a one week ticket where could not access anything except the Jupiter main frame, whic could include 1 day contact with earth ties until they are " out of range"

I just added the sound effects when I edited the video together-at some point in the future I may try adding a sound chip of some kind but for now I don't have that. I have no plans to display these things in public at this time.....Thanks for looking...

Since watching S2E01 "Blast Off into Space" again, it seems this model is of the console from Season 2.

All of the sounds are available on the Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen 6 CD set that came out several years ago. You would need to buy some sound chips and program them to be activated with button activation. If you are interested in purchasing the flight console - I need to sell it. Contact me back.

If the triple-spoked silver painted styrene overlay were rotated to place the spokes at 10:00/2:00/6:00 instead of the shown 12:00/4:00/8:00, the screen section would also need to be rotated 180 degrees. Otherwise, the illuminated, motorized "radar" pattern would be improperly oriented with respect to the three screen segments. In some episodes, the "triangle wave" pattern appears in the top segment and "V" pattern is divided between the bottom two segments.

The authenticity of the panel is superb.
Do the panel switches start the sound effects of the J2 through a hidden MP3 player? Or was I just hearing the background audio to your presentation?
Thanks for keeping the LIS experience alive for the rest of us!
Do you ever put the robot and panel on display for the public? We live in the DFW area.

Hi Hamiltonpl. I know you posted this some time ago and I am just finding/seeing it. Great work. Wondering about the Moire pattern beneath the console and what that pattern looks like?

    • @hamiltonpl
      @hamiltonpl  Год назад +1

Not a moire pattern. Actually a spinning image of LINES rotating behind a zig zag pattern. The spinning result does kind of look like a moire pattern.

Outstanding work!!! Is the design from an earlier season? In third season episodes, there is another small control cluster to the left of the main panel (Ex: S3E10 "Space Creature"). Regarding the proper position of the radar screen overlay, my observation is that both it and the screen itself are shown in both positions, varying by episode and/or scene. Perhaps it was Mr. Allen's intent for the screen orientation to vary as though the entire display were capable of rotating during operation.

in looking at a post on lighting references for model building, they ran an episode called "The Flaming Planet", forgive me, but i'm not sure the season, but at about 3min6 sec, the consol was clearly shown with the central "Y" bar in an actual Y position, maybe this will help you as to the proper placement, regards,M69

Absolutely amazing center console build there sir! But lordy, how I hate the 3rd season LIS theme song! The original sounds like a computer inspired space adventure , the 3rd season theme sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon à la Johnny Quest. Felt the same way when it was first introduced.
    Oh the pain, the pain!
