This Officer was truly dedicated to his men and his mission. We (the Allies) were very lucky that capable men such as this was replaced by less competent leadership.
@@None-zc5vg Victor propoganda you mean? Jrsus look at Dresden, Hamburg, Berl8n man. Releasing 100 000 balloons to start fires, the Rhineland camps. Not 1 German prisoner on day 1 D day🤔. Shite happens in war on both sides of war. Only in WWII did the West decide to try and execute " war criminals" . After that, well I suppose Mai Lai and Col Calley set the benchmark of " justice".
You mean the USA and Commonwealth troops were lucky we supplied our other "allies" Russia, to get chewed up and fight piryc victories so the rest of the allies got to face reserves, old men, cripples and whatever else was left after the eastern front
@@ozdavemcgee2079 , you seem to have history a bit wrong.......the USA fed Russia during the war and supplied arms and machines when Russia was on it's knees. True, Russia had almost unlimited manpower but just bodies won't win a war.
Yes, dying tragically right at the very end of the war. His car was straiffed by an Allied fighter and his wife and daughter died in the attack. He dies later from wounds from this attack.
From what I read, bock was the most dangerous in ww1. He really did some amazing stuff to get the pour le merit. He was no punk, that's for sure. A crazy old coot. But brave. Yes, I'm glad he got to die for his country. Because, well, der sterber.
would you maybe know more about his relatives today? me and my brother did a lot of research about this man as our last name is also bock and we have a picture of our family flag with the year that he was made a officer. we may think that this is just coincidence, but the picture does provide evidence that he may be a relative of ours. we wanted to ask if maybe you know more about this mans family today. thanks!
I'm related to Bock and apparently my grandfather was demoted to a cook because of his relation to him despite never have had any contact with him and was born in America.
Bock was injured on 3 May 1945, as his car was strafed by a Hawker Tempest from No. 486 Squadron RNZAF killing his wife, stepdaughter, and a friend. Initially the only survivor of the attack, Bock died of his injuries the following day. He was buried in a cemetery in Lensahn. So not a British pilot.
Think of the size of the battles Army group A B and center had to overcome do you think Ukraine have a chance against Russia look ehat happened at kursk the Russians led them and wipped them out model come close with the 9th army ...

This dedicated officer may have been spared the indignity of being arraigned for war crimes, thanks to his death just before the end of hostilities.

Tragic end to his life. His will to recover must have been broken along with his heart. RIP von Bock(s)

لماذا المانيا لا تفتخر في قادتها الشجعان الذين سحقو المجرمين البلاشفه السوفيت Soviet
What German accent is this?
I was wondering the same
"Straight out of Wikipedia" accent
Fedor isn´t your typical prussian name, isn´t it?
Rip Von Bock i think he should have survived the war 😢
Good the Brits got him.
Well at least he could actually command armies unlike all their generals
The war was practically over by that point. Good for whom exactly?
