Thanks so much for posting this. I'll bet Kris would be happy to hear his long-time friend and collaborator Larry Gatlin singing this song. On the Ken Burns PBS Country Music special Larry made a moving tribute to Kris in which he quoted the line ..."a lonely bell was ringing, and it echoed through the canyons like the disappearing dreams of yesterday" and said something like "all of these words are in the dictionary but before Kris nobody knew how the hell they were supposed to go together." In his day Larry Gatlin, now 74, has been one of the best singers ever to grace a stage. He deserves and has my respect and appreciation.
Larry was the first person to put me on stage when I was 18 months old. He gets so much Credit is a great songwriter but it is incredible how he interprets a lyric even if it’s a lyric that you’ve heard 100 times.
Bucket list checked off ,saw the Legend in Salamanca New York.. He talked at me.. it got all quiet and i yelled out "Sing Billy Dee " .. in that grumpy gravely voice he said to me.. " I'm getting to it hold on " He played a big part of who i am today.
MK's timeless instrumental "Going Home" brings me back to the Summer of 1983. After spending a long weekend in England with a friend (guitar teacher) way back home by ferry. On board from Harwich to Hoek van Holland (NL) the movie "Local Hero" was playing, starring Burt Lancaster. Just when our boat will reach the Dutch harbor at the end "Going Home" was hearing. What a perfect timing! Just that special feeling of being home soon.... Thanks, Mark !!!
ANOTHER HERO HAS FALLEN Words by Joe Hester Another hero has fallen, Right before our eyes As we sit there in silence, At the horrible surprise All the others will be there to greet him, Up in that heavenly place He will live in our hearts forever, Standin' tall and full of grace He has touched our life's forever, In so many different ways And now here we all set, In a numbness kinda haze But tomorrow will still come, And it will be another day The world will go on revolving, In a weird sort of way 'Cause another hero has fallen, And the lord only knows why Maybe the lord doesn't want any heroes, Except for him in our eyes Yes, another hero has fallen, And the lord only knows why Heroes are strong, and never do wrong, And they are never expected to die But most of my heroes have vanished, Taken by the life that they've lead Doers and seer's, thinkers and believers, So tell me why, most of my heroes are dead They'll live on in our hearts forever, Of this I can surely guarantee 'Cause that's where a hero lives, Forever in eternity..... Yes, another...hero......has......fallen My hero has fallen, and my heart is broken 😢
I heard at one point he was a janitor - was this before west point or after being a helicopter pilot --- so he did all these things to be a janitor --- did he leave the war to do this --- because you don't abandon your brother's in arms
Larry has a gorgeous voice but he’s gettin long in the years now. There’s a certain time when the the window closes on a persons voice. Sometime you can prolong it by keeping your voice in shape with a vocal coach, but sometimes the aging process is rough on the old vocal cords This makes me sad because Larry Gatlin was one of those golden throats. I think a good singer knows when it’s time to not perform anymore publicly. My hats Off to you much respect, Larry. you spilled more notes than I’ll ever pick up and sometimes it’s time to tip your hat and go out when you’re at the top of your game.
Yeah I could never be an instructor the reason why I was a pilot I have problems with my penis with erections especially when I'm sleeping which is the reason why I was a pilot.in the first place.
Kris Kristofferson is one of the best singer-songwriters of all time and he's an amazing guy.
What a joy and an honor it was to see him in concert twice,. He belongs at the echelon of song writers, besides Cohen, Dylan and such.

RIP Kris.
Chris is the man
And you know if I get disconnected it may affect both of us from communicating
R.I.P. Kris ❤
And all of my dentist comfort today or because of people and their foreplay which is just made me so uneasy and uncomfortable around other people.
Gosh that man singing that song dreadful Kris is a genius and let him sing it
This song was NOT written for a voice or rendition like Gatlin's.
Yeah right I would still be flying helcopters
❤
Where's the entire concert?
Kris was not present?
One of my most favorite country songs ever - unfortunately did not like this interpretation

Sure wish Mr. Gatlin hadn't butchered this piece of art.
come on, he was not that bad 😉 Kris certainly has loved it more than we have since no-one can sing it any better than Kris himself

how to butcher a great song!!

Sort of opera
Yes Mr. Gatlin butchered this song. Sorry Larry but you did.
I totally agree. Sorry Larry Gatlin.
