Thanks for posting this video of these two legendary entertainers. It's a terrible shame that people are so insistent about talking about Andy Griffith's struggles with alcoholism. Alcoholism is a terrible disease. Andy was eventually able to overcome his struggles with alcoholism, and since Andy has returned to heaven, we really need to focus on our beautiful memories ❤️ 💙 of Andy and others who have gone ahead! When life on earth draws to an end, physical remains and memories of the decedent are the only things that remain on Earth. We need to focus on making a positive influence on others, so that those memories we leave behind will be good memories. We also need to forgive those who have gone ahead, and focus on the good memories. This is the only way that we can heal. Rest in Heaven Andy Griffith and Earl Scruggs. You are both loved, missed, and will never be forgotten. We are thankful for getting to share a small part of your lives 🙏 🙌 ✨️ ❤️

I grew up with Andy and Opie and it’s not nostalgia to say that things were better back then.

Believe it or not, I was at that show, and I was sitting up in the balcony, so I walked down to the floor, and asked an usher if I could go right up to the stage to take a picture, and he said "yeah no problem", so I did, I took a few pictures quickly and then walked right back up to my seat... it was really cool how laid-back it was at that point...and it was a really good show... here's what freaked me out, I bought my tickets at the box office about two hours before the show... Andy Griffith and Earl Scruggs, I could not believe that it was not sold out!!

Andy Griffith is the greatest southern actor on the planet. No other could hold a candle to him and never will.

A great actor. Although southern, he was actually a pro abortion and anti-gun liberal and most southerners found his ideals against southern logic.

Funny story about southerners. I grew up in Upstate NY, but now live in Northern California. My wife is from California but her father was from Tennessee and her mother is from Arkansas. One day I was sitting around her father's house with all his relatives from the south and they were all telling stories about growing up in the south and I said I guess I'm the only Yankee here. Her father laughed and said, that's ok, we'll make you an honorary southerner. I felt honored and I got a little emotional because I knew they had accepted me into the family at that time. Her father Bobby is no longer with us, but I hope I'll see him on the other side.

I think Andy was alot different in real life than he was on his t.v. show. He played kind of a goof-off fun guy on his shows, but he always seemed cold and humorless offscreen.

I believe there are tons of people in North America that “ WANT “ to serve God and other people but they just aren’t able to for the hold the devil has on the people of God.
They’re deceived into thinking that hot-rodding diesel trucks and maintaining youtube channels and raising kids that are bow-hunting super hero’s that love listening to Luke Bryan...
... they’re deceived into thinking this is Godliness.

I was in Nashville staying with my good friend John Hartford when this happened. We decided to watch it on TV (where I video taped it) rather than going to the Opry to see them live. There was supposed to be a second performance but Andy didn't feel well and they announced he wasn't coming out to play the second time. A couple days later John and I went to Earl's house to visit and he and Louise told us how Andy came to their house to visit and rehearse prior to the show. He brought two bodyguards with him! Imagine that!
