Its 12:51am April24 2024,Lester and Earl are pickin and jammin great as usual.I love their sacred and gospel numbers,Praise The Lord and pick it fellas,Go Earl go.
Jake Tullock- Bass, Tenor. Josh Graves- Dobro and Bass, Had A Instrumental Voice. Lester Flatt- Guitar, Tenor. Earl Scruggs- Banjo and Guitar, Baritone. Paul Warren- Fiddle, Bass. Curly Seckler- Mandolin and Guitar, Tenor Frank (Hylo) Brown- Guitar, Baritone and Assisted Tenor Sometimes.
You have to adjust for inflation, people didn't get paid as much as now. Nowadays salaries are obviously higher across the board too, so the difference is not as extreme as your numbers may suggest
+Thomas Benson Have you noticed Lester calls him Mylo instead of Hylo at the beginning of this show? Iv'e heard him do it a few other times also. Maybe Lester was getting forgetful already. He is older than most rest of the band but not that much older
+ daniel morris Interesting observation. Well, Lester was 10 years older that Earl and was around 50 on this show, not too much for being forgetful. Maybe 'Mylo' was some personal joke in the band.

I is gonna to git me some of that Martha White
Hylo Brown, nice voice ,broken nose,
The pick guards were serious in those days. :-)
Mark Wilkins think a lot of them used fingerpicks back in the day where as now almost everyone uses a standard flat pick
Always the best.
Imagine paying only one dollar instead of fifteen in some cases for a music book!

@@karlheven8328 1 dollar in 1962 would be about 8.5 dollars nowadays
Lester singing out of the right side of his mouth, and HiLo out of his left side.
Ol' Earl could pick that guitar, too.

当時こうしたコマーシャリズムに乗った音楽活動は斬新なスタイルだったと思います。アメリカの音楽文化にも広く影響を与えた気がします。
Cheesy Muffins and a fruit salad plate? Oh well, takes all sorts!
1 cup sugar, 1 can fruit cocktail, brown sugar, and butter sauce. Calories? What are those?
Frank Brown more commonly known as Hylo Brown.
