This show wasn't just loved in the US and Canada, it was also beloved in Australia because Aussies understood the small town vibe of the show. I vividly remember watching the show with my parents as a little kid. We'd be in front of our Astor (local Aussie brand) 21" b/w tv just loving every minute of every episode. I think the reason why my family loved the show (and I suppose most families did) was because of the natural warmth the actors created. And yes, we laughed WITH the actors, not at them. They engendered a love for the simple values underlying the US in every nation which took the show. I know that I have an abiding love for the US as our cousins across the sea.

Dad was Army. Was sent to Vietnam. Mom was smart enough to set my brother and I up in front of The Andy Griffith Show while dad was gone. Andy and cast kept us in line with their wholesome messages and stories. Brings back some innocent memories.

Why can’t life be like this in 2020 as it was in 1960 ? Even though this was a television show it still reflected a better time , when people had morals and values . Time traveler take me back !!! this show was magnificent and shall always remain as a reminder as how life SHOULD BE ! Look around at our world today ..... what would you give to go back to this time and place? It’s only fictional, don’t we wish life today was too?
I could not say it better. Well written. I say the same every every day of my life. Now, we live in a dangerous, unsafe world, where more people worry more about themselves. In some way we have became uncivilized.

I’ve watched this show hundreds of times since the 1960’s and no matter how many times I’ve seen it, I never tire of it. I wish today could be like back then. Technology is great, but life from a human perspective was so much better back then. Same with MASH or I LOVE LUCY.
For those that grew up with this show, or have nostalgic memories tied to it, this can be bittersweet and emotional. Much of the cast is gone now but we'll always have those memories.
Andy Griffith reunion show (2003) aside, this vid is also pretty nostalgic and entertaining by seeing and recognizing old commercials from 2003 as well lol. Some of these ads shot back into my mind instantly, which was fun for a bit since they had previously left my brain entirely lol. The fact that these aired during the Christmas season also makes them all them more warm and fuzzy to look back on nearly 20 years later
The whole reunion was awesome to watch, but the part at the end where they said goodbye and Andy told Ron that he loved him really got me emotional. This is a show I've watched since I was around 5 or 6 when I would visit my grandparents on the weekends, and I still re-run it every year. I'm only 28, but it just goes to show how incredible a show this is that even people who were born long after it was being made can still love it and cherish it as if they lived it the same way Andy, Don, Ron, and all the other actors did.
We own the series…we are rewatching it now …for the 4th time….i am 61……they just don’t make em like this anymore…people are crazy now and wouldn’t understand.
I use to love to watch my late husband watch Mayberry. He laughed over and over at each episode over and over !! I so enjoyed watching him enjoy. I have remarried and still watching and my husband laughs and laughs. Andy Griffith came on when I was about to turn 6 and is a BIG part of my entire life.
Wow.. That last moment they were saying goodbye broke me. My heart aches for such simple times as they had in Mayberry.. There will never be another program that will even come close..
Oh my goodness, this is a great reunion. I loved the Andy Griffith Show and it's beautiful how the cast was able to meet up to reminisce about the great times they had.😂❤️👏 I am trying to figure out why I didn't see this reunion show when it originally aired.
I, too, was born in 1963, and when I was a toddler, I would say, “Andy Gwifith”, instead; my mom said it was one of the first things I said! So, I’ve always had a special fondness for this absolutely wonderful sitcom! And, who could forget old “Barn”--Don Knotts was absolutely PRICELESS! He was the whole show!😝😆🤣
@@88mphsss Agreed, but why did they have to kill-off the mothers in those two series? I loved 'Aunt Bee', but I think a real mother would have sufficed.
@@MrMenefrego1 I like the widower aspect. It takes away the sexual element entirely and allows the focus to remain on being a father, and by having an aunt or father in-law living in the house, it emphasizes a healthy family dynamic. If it were today they'd make a big deal out of in-law friction, or deserving compensation for their housework.
I loved watching this it reminded me so much of my mom's dad who I called my daddy he was like my dad when I never knew my biological father. He was alot like Andy the way he smoke and reasoned things out. I miss him he died when I was 7. And every time I watched andy it's like spending time with him. But I loved andy and barney and opie. RIP don and andy .
Its 2023 and though the show is in black and white it simply transcends into modern day no matter what year it is. Makes me feel so warm, comforted and content to rewatch any of the AGS episodes. Something very special about this creation. I also only now realized Opie had a different, distinct accent than his dad.
This is my favorite show me and my mom loves to watch this at night when we are having family time this is a fantastic show for family to get together and laugh
The Andy Griffith show was a true television treasure, I had the privilege of visiting Mt. Airy NC a couple of years ago where Andy Griffith is from, Very nice town.

The episode about Opie killing a mother bird is still my favorite. It was so well written and a life lesson. It STILL makes me cry. That show's ending was and is one of the best they did. The one that came in at a close second for me was their only Christmas show.

Andy was always good about plugging the writers, the make up artist and others in his interviews over the years, class act.
I'm 61 and have watched the Episodes so often and I have loved ALL the Characters played so much that I feel as if you're part of "my past "...Beautiful People you where....
I’m 14 and this show is a part of my life 😂
I’m 82 and I bawled like a baby through this entire show wishing we had a country like this again. Such beautiful innocence.
I was born in 1992 my grandmas & dad would always watch this show eventually I became a fan it just gives u a sense of peace in this crazy world when people had morals & standards 🤦🏼♂️🙏🏼
Yep 🙏
I hope this show never goes off the air. It is my most favorite one. I watch it almost every day. Good clean wholesome show. Too bad more like these aren't produced anymore.
This show is good to watch on a rainy day or a bad day it can help you relax
Dad was Army. Was sent to Vietnam. Mom was smart enough to set my brother and I up in front of The Andy Griffith Show while dad was gone. Andy and cast kept us in line with their wholesome messages and stories. Brings back some innocent memories.
Crying! Thank you for this trip down wonderful memory lane.
I'm 46 and grew up on the ANDY GRIFFITH show. My parents did as well and so did both MY children (now 17 & 28). I feel like the characters were real people in my past. This was one of the BEST shows EVER made. They don't make shows like that anymore.
I wish we all could live in Mayberry.
All true
Facts
Yup. It still holds up today, it's still funny and relatable today.
We grew up watching this show, brought me back beautiful memories.
It’s only fictional, don’t we wish life today was too?
it offered a specific version of that time that all of us would have liked to be a part of.
I could not say it better. Well written. I say the same every every day of my life. Now, we live in a dangerous, unsafe world, where more people worry more about themselves. In some way we have became uncivilized.
WTF is WRONG with you?
At that time, the show thought values and scruples.
My dad used to love watching this show when I was a kid but at the time I didn't care for it and just wanted to watch cartoons. Now that my dad's gone, I come back to watch this sometimes. Makes me feel like I'm watching it with him again. I've definitely learned to appreciate it
Yes I feel the same way too I lost my dad at 11 and he used to watch this all time . Also my grandma would watch it alot when I came over but now both are gone it's really hard hut I feel when I watch this I'm back in time sorta in some kind of way
@@KnuckleHeadGarage27 Yeah exactly. I'm sorry you lost yours so young
Love it love everyone on this show.great memories.
The show started the year I was born but it wasn't until near the end,67 or so that discovered it,been watching it ever since.
my mama and i watch this show everyday...the idea of Andy Taylor embodies everything i wanted to be as a friend and father...rest in paradise to all the cast members of this amazing show...peace
I’ve watched this show hundreds of times since the 1960’s and no matter how many times I’ve seen it, I never tire of it. I wish today could be like back then. Technology is great, but life from a human perspective was so much better back then. Same with MASH or I LOVE LUCY.
WHY?
I love this series. We watch it everyday as it is on every afternoon for 3 or 4 hours.
What a wonderful show. I never get tired of watching. Thanks Andy Don and Ron!
Wow.. That last moment they were saying goodbye broke me.
My heart aches for such simple times as they had in Mayberry..
There will never be another program that will even come close..
Love this show and still watch it.I'm 64 yrs old!! ❤
Oh my goodness, this is a great reunion. I loved the Andy Griffith Show and it's beautiful how the cast was able to meet up to reminisce about the great times they had.😂❤️👏 I am trying to figure out why I didn't see this reunion show when it originally aired.
Andy Griffith is still One of very few Great shows on now. Never get tired of such sure, pure entertainment! Thank you So much for sharing!
This show always connects with me on a much deeper level than any other show ever could
I’m 64 and have watched it all of life!❤️Wish I grew up in Mayberry! This and. ‘Leave it to Beaver’ have always been my favorites!❤
GREAT TV series. Safe for the entire family to watch and has good morals.
He was the whole show!😝😆🤣
Still watch reruns and still laugh ❤ Still love them❤
It never got better than this...EVER!
I remember watching it as a kid in the 2000's so im feeling nostalgic for two different times
I love this show. I'm a huge Andy fan. His Gospel songs are amazing ❤❤❤
Im 32 and everyday i watch this my favorite show
What are some other shows you like? I can't find anything else quite like it.
@@88mphsss That's because there is nothing quite like it, sadly.
@@MrMenefrego1 My Three Sons has a similar mood but it's only because it's from the same time period.
Rest in peace Andy 🙏 I neaver forgot to miss you
Those were wonderful years!
Warms my heart just seeing them smile
I love The Andy Griffith show ❤❤❤
There will never be another show like this one…so great and yes, I still watch it too.
To this day I watch The Andy Griffith Show and I’m 58 years old! The best show on TV to this day!
Its 2023 and though the show is in black and white it simply transcends into modern day no matter what year it is.
Makes me feel so warm, comforted and content to rewatch any of the AGS episodes. Something very special about this creation.
I also only now realized Opie had a different, distinct accent than his dad.
It's still funny today too. There is something timeless about this show.
I'm the same age as Ron Howard and enjoyed the Andy Griffith show as did my parents. Mayberry was the America we all hoped was real. A very healthy environment and good hearted character development.
I was born in 1961 and remember having such a wonderful time watching this show with my family. And I was able to do the same thing with my kids
My Girlfriend and I are coming back to Mayberry,N.C. My husband and I did that yrs ago but he's since passed - looking for to that again - Best Family Show EVER 😊❤
The episode about Opie killing a mother bird is still my favorite. It was so well written and a life lesson. It STILL makes me cry. That show's ending was and is one of the best they did. The one that came in at a close second for me was their only Christmas show.
The greatest show ever!!!
Andy Griffith reminds me of my dad. Plus we would always watch it together.
Made me laugh and cry
Married With Children will always be my all time favorite TV show, but Andy and Lucy are just as important to me
I’m 25 in i love Andy Griffith
Best TV show ever... no question!
Yes I still watch it every evening during the week,I can't wait to get home and watch it
awww, this is very special. ❤😊
