Living in a mountain region that suffers from heavy tourism (only a few people profit from tourism, not everyone, as they want you to believe), we were shocked to see e-bikes turning every mountain hut into a crowded tourist attraction. The intimacy of certain "hidden" spots were raped by tourists being basically transported by technology. They wouldn't have made it on a normal bike. The same goes for this terrible thing that allows people to go to places they could never get to. A simple mountaineering rule: if you want to climb that wall, go that particular path, you have to train, concentrate, dedicate yourself, invest time, invest passion, invest patience. It is too easy to get things that do everything for you. That's why I never fly, I chop my own wood, I bake my own bread. I don't travel around the world unless I can do it with as little technological help as possible. The experience of me climbing a wall can't be matched by anyone who takes a cable car to the top. The summit becomes disposable if you don't fight for it. You bought the ticket as if you were buying an hour with a prostitute. It's not love, it's just another disposable item on your list. Shame on anyone who promotes this crap.
