These coppers are nowhere to be seen when the sun sets and the phone snatchers start their shift in the city, rather than setting up stings or other plans to catch those responsible they target commuters and food delivery riders as they are the easy targets. They run back to their police station and collect the brownie points for seizing ebikes that have 0 involvement in the phone snatching. Absolute waste of resources

Love your content 🔥I agree with you but I think these cops aren't equip to do just that. These pedal bike cops apprehending surrons which can easily hit 45 mph without upgrades? Not gonna happen. Even then chases by police cars can result in innocent bystanders getting hurt which no one wants. I want to know what kind of strategy you think could work to really clamp down on those ebike thieves. Please keep uploading and love your videos londoneats!!

Fast bicycles ARE a problem. These are vehicles that go at the same speed as automobiles or motorcycles on the road, but require NO LICENSE (or vehicle insurance) to drive. They are incredibly dangerous to the public. Imagine letting anyone to drive a car with no license or insurance. The whole point of a license to drive an automobile or motorcycle is to prove you have achieved proper competency and safety to drive on a road. A regular bicycle that is man-powered (or electric powered with a LIMIT, as per the law) are reasonably safe as they cannot achieve the same speed as motorcycles / automobiles.
These fast bicycles are basically motorcycles, with no vehicle insurance or license.

Screw thieves but the e-bike legislation should be changed. For once taking inspiration from the US would be great. In most US states the speed limit for e-bikes is 20 MPH and you can use a throttle (Class 2) and the power limit is 750 W.
It should be the same in the UK and in the EU as well. Or maybe 30 KPH but something akin to the one in the US. That would make a lot of people swap from cars to e-bikes. The biggest issue with bicycles is the acceleration from a standstill and that's where the throttle would really help, especially if you're physically challenged for whatever reason. Age, disability or whatever.

That’s incorrect. A speed limited controller should stop the power once it hits the top speed that is programmed to. There was a proposed law change by the previous government allowing for an increase upto 500w motor and allowing provision for throttle assist. I personally think it’s a sensible law and one would go one step further allowing the bikes to go 20mph on Roads. I think this will actually decrease road traffic accidents as slow moving bicycles travelling up hills etc are more likely to cause an accident.
Local by laws limiting speeds in cities and towns fair enough, but for commuting I think 20mph is sensible. We want to be encouraging our citizenry to take healthy lifestyle options, not dissuading them. Just an opinion of course.
