This song is mesmerising. I can listen to it over and over and still get full body goosebumps every time. No one commands a saxophone like Louise Elliott OMG swooning ❤
Amazing as ever!!! Still in 2024. Love this song, but I get really introspective when I listen to it, so I don’t listen too often. Takes me back to my tortured teen years 😂
An Aussie alternative rock classic: dark, brooding and relentless with one of the best bass lines ever written! I recall seeing this video on Rock Around the World back in the day. Thanx for sharing!
I was wondering. You play this song a lot. 4 versions including Times Not Missed But Hit and numerous times in solo work. Then there's the Saints album of that name. Does this song/theme hold a special meaning or importance for you. I find the lyrics somewhat too opaque to answer that for myself.
It's become a mainstay of the solo shows Peter, but like Electrical Storm didn't get played for long periods of time.... that said since the version on Today Wonder it's proved itself agreeable to being messed around with in a multitude of musical ways
Still my fave song after 41 years!
Thanks again Ed!
Louise Elliott on Sax.
Ed singing too!
I normally hate the sax…scars from the 80s 😆 This is the only sax that I remember not only not having a problem with, but LOVING!

Louise Elliot, what a sax godess! Her playing together with the bass line makes this such an irreristible song
You are so true. L E was perfect in the Clowns.
Peter Milton Walsh played bass on this album, unless I'm mistaken. That might even be a brief cameo of his mug at about 4:09?
Don’t forget Jeffrey’s crackerjack snap timing on drums!

I don't want that song to end, I could listen to it for hours. Just so sublime.
Me too
I saw the Laughing Clowns at the Equator in Perth and although I remember nothing it remains the most memorable gig ever.
This song still haunts me.
The song they play in Heaven .
this song always makes me think of what it would be like to see everything go up in flames.... a bit morbid, but somehow empowering

@@edkuepper4234 It's a great song. My favourite is the version on Law of Nature. The 12 string sounds excellent.
@@petercifuentes2670 thanks I think that version was only on the original release tho don't quote me can't access my vinyl at the moment
Enjoyed hearing this again after 40 years. But I can wait another 40 years before I listen to it again.
I've just played this track 4 times iñ a row. I used to have the lp in the 80s. Love you Rd Kuepper always will. Donna
