The film clip was made by the generosity of many local artists .Directed John H Hughes , Same a lot of photography . Moira Maclean Cross helped with getting the film & getting it developed. John edited on an old optic printer. John said i was the producer & second director . Jude Dransfied did the stills . Kim Obrien did the make up . We shot it an old warehouse in Darlinghurst . I wish I could remember more of this amazing generous artists who made this happen in a day . The drummings ok but I wish I did a bit more fancy stuff when Louise❤ does her solo hmmm maybe some ghost notes on the snare too & hmm a slightly sloshy hi hat open on some of “ ands ( soft ! ) ) . Is there any bass drum in the mix btw ? I’m on phone , I can only pray . 😃 Btw if it wasn’t for Ken West The Holy Joe clip wouldn’t been not have been made .
At 55 I am finally learning to play the saxophone (after a lifetime of guitar and drums) and this song is the catalyst that was lit (yes, mixed metaphor) all that way back in the 80's when I first heard it. Thanks Louise and thanks Ed for the wonderful music.
The instruments are more clearly separated here, making for sone open spaces in the sound. The bass and hi-hat cymbals in particular really pop out. I like the dark, droning propulsion of this, it suggests something else behind the lyrics, and the sax wailing on top is the finishing touch. Thanks for posting this new remaster.

Takes me back 40 years odd. This stuff will never die, even though so few have experienced it.

This sax and the sax in Taxi Driver are the best haunting solos.
Sounding absolutely great, always loved the moody video too ❤

Sublime piece off music, love it.
This song is part of my DNA.
Fantastic!
I walked into a place in Paddington as this played, back in the early 80s. My spine is still chilled and my hips are still swaying. Superb piece
Colin MaCormak probably the Paddo . Town Hall ya would have remembered.
