GREAT SONG, GREAT BAND , GREAT 80'S. I WOULD DO EVERYTHING TO RETURN IN 80'S AND AGAIN FIRST TIME SEE MY FIRST GREAT YOUNG LOVE. I SEE HER TODAY WITH CHILDREN OF OTHER MAN AND WHEN WE LOOK AT EACH OTHER IN THE AIR ARE SOME SPARKLESS. YOU CAN'T FORGET YOUR FIRST LOVE. EVER

Its an amszing song, still have The butterfly album on vinyl from when it came out. Cracking album.. I was only 16 when it came out. Those of us who know, know.
It's because this days is promoted crap, and garbage(not the band , that was actually pretty good) and only some '80 and 90's kids remember this bands( like THOL, James , Deacon Blue...) !
This is real music, not The crap that we have to endure on The radios today. Feel very lucky to spend my Youth and more in This golden years. The 80's of course.👍
I used to listen this when I was 16 in my born country, Spain! I loved the music and the singer’s voice. On those times I didn’t understand any English, but now I find the lyrics full of meaning!
A long long time I didn't hear this fantastic song. Thanks to 80s80s radio. I remember this song, I didn't hear for more than 30 years. What a waste of time ;-)
The same is true of the Scottish band, Love and Money, from around the same period; House Music was mainlining at the time and derailed and bulldozed Rock and Pop music, it has never been the same since.
People did notice at the time, every single was NME single of the week, massive cover spreads etc....but now people pretend that never happened. They were great.
I'm in tears I heard this as a child so often on the back seat in the car when it was on the radio.. how fast the time went and now I understand its meaning
Saw this band twice, once in England and in Vancouver. The first one was the original lineup with Terry Bickers but they were superb on both occasions.
@Sleeping well they are mostly politically centered and everyone knows politics is PepeLaugh. oh wait forgot to mention cliche bullshit personal love story break up garbage. the virgin pop vs the chad alternative metal
Because modern music is wank. Largely due to fucking fence sitting shithouses like you that just accept whatever manufactured dross is thrown your way. Nobody should shy away from holding strong opinions about the quality of modern music - it has a fucking immense effect on society and youth culture.
Amazing song by an amazing band. Saw them at Leeds Uni refectory about 1990 supported by The Parachute Men. Awesome gig. I could listen to this all day…
Criminally Underrated Band
OMG, this got played on Radio recently! Not heard this in yonks!!!
What a fkng GREAT track.
I LOVE IT.
I haven't listened to this since 91. Like refinding a lost treasure

They don’t make music like this anymore..
I was at Warwick University when I came across the House of Love in 89-92. Great band. Great song!
Same! I was at Leicester Uni.
My father died 4 years ago and this was his favorite song and when i hear this song i start crying😥

The Target is the House of Love!
Great song. Great song.
Probably the happiest time of my life. 15, good circle of friends going to gigs every couple of weeks for about £7. Still trying to get back to 1991.
The greatest part of the brain is memory, the worst thing that comes from memory is nostalgia. We remember but we can never go back! So sad.
If you find a way back can i go too?
Dont do that to yourself... shine on... ♨️

Best song ever made about shining shoes for a living.

I misread it as Misanthrope High School. Lol.
Such a good wibe. ❤❤❤
One of the most underrated bands ever, by the end of the 80s and beginning of the 90s they were the best, and almost nobody noticed
The same is true of the Scottish band, Love and Money, from around the same period; House Music was mainlining at the time and derailed and bulldozed Rock and Pop music, it has never been the same since.
Wrong, not everywhere,, they had a quite huge fan base in France in the end of the 80's.
People did notice at the time, every single was NME single of the week, massive cover spreads etc....but now people pretend that never happened. They were great.
The problem it was The Stone Roses being greater.
except “the house of love” wrote much better tunes🤪
2006 i gave this cd to a girl i liked. We are still together.

Classic tune, only just heard the reissue of their debut album , they should have been massive
They were a bit uneven. This was on the TOTP in .. 89 or 90? So, this song was a hit.. but they couldn't really keep it up. I love them though.
