I saw them in 1990, I believe. They opened up for Peter Murphy at the Concert Hall in Toronto. Since that first meeting; they have been one of my favorite bands. Had to get all their CD's at the Record Peddler. A joint for imported UK artists that were not in the mainstream. I clearly remember paying $38.00 for one CD.
The album Babe Rainbow is one of my alltime favorite albums. It deserved tons of more intrest and attention. This is ART! POP can be ART too and this album is very very very underestimated!
Great underrated song from a great underrated band. Other great songs of this amazing band, Shine on, Marble, Christine, Beatles and the Stones, I don't know why I love You, etc.
I knew them with the album The House of Love and saw them in concert in Paris in 1988 or maybe in 1989, at that time Terry Bickers was in the band, so much memories and feelings !
Agree, they were too late for big success. The press were pretty fickle about this baggy-ish trippy sound at the time. It’s an absolute belter of a track. I think I still have it on vinyl somewhere.
I found the Babe rainbow album in a bargains box in a music store tons of years ago. I saw the cover, and frowned with curiosity. never heard about this band before, but the name caught me immediately. Bought it and after taking the piece home and listened to it I loved every song and still have the CD in my place. It was a total struck of luck. I dont know how but I feel that The house of love has influenced a lot of other melodic modern bands as Coldplay to mention one. Just an opinion.
FINALLY! The correct version of this video of this brilliant song and not some truncated, patch-work abonimation put together by amateurs. I saw this when it originally aired and is in my top 5 for song and video. This is so haunting and ethereal. The stuff of dreams.
When I first heard this band a couple of years ago I was like "I have been looking for this musical sound my whole life." And this song is a dreamy masterpiece that evokes the English Countryside for me on a magical misty day. Soooooo good.
What a great song and a great sounding song. I can't believe that I missed hearing this when it first came out! I remember hearing their first album in my mates bedroom and we both agreed that we really needed to up our game. Still working on that!
Such a beautiful song and dreamy video. I'm so thrilled to find these videos having been (re?) uploaded. I love this band more than an ageing man should do!

This video reminds me of The Coctue Twins.

Babe Rainbow one of my favorite albums!
it's pretty much what one could call a 'perfect' album
The singles off this album if it had been released in 1990 would have been massive. They truly deserved to be.
i remember listening to these songs in the 90s !

Unbelievable...less than 10k views for this great song and band
If you like The House Of Love, maybe you like the band The Mary Onettes. One of the songs named "Explosions".
No
lovely song, can do without the gross teeth kaleidoscope thing though. Yuck.
thw wannabe stone roses

@@emmab668 i think i love you now, ok bye
They sound nothing like them. Also Guy could sing unlike that anti-vaxxing twit, Ian.
Er, sorry, very, very wrong indeed 😂.
An awful video that does not do this great song any justice, whoever signed off on this needs to be spoken too...
