The Shocking Reality of the Eucharist

- It's easy to fall into a routine and lose sight of the little miracles all around us. Unfortunately, it is even easy to fall into a routine and lose sight of the greatest miracle of all, happening right in front of us.
Today, Fr. Mike discusses the greatest gift God has ever given man: himself. Christ offered his body at the Last Supper, he sacrificed it on the Cross, and he continues to give himself to us at each and every Mass. Fr. Mike explains the shocking reality of what it means to eat Jesus' body and drink Jesus' blood. This flesh, the Incarnate Word of God, redeemed the world. His body and blood are what save our fallen human nature and they are what give us life. This miracle, occurring each time we go to Mass, gives us an opportunity to partake in redemption, unite with our Savior, and live a sacramental life.

Beautiful! I am studying for the priesthood, please keep me in your prayers that I may become a holy priest of God 🥰
I pray every day for pereists, seminarians and religious. We need you all. God bless you dear.♥️
May you remain in GOD in good and bad times , your faith keep you in GOD fight and complete your journey.
God Bless you
Wow beautiful, I'm so pleased and happy for you.
Sending prayers that the holy Spirit guides you and protects you.
You are such a blessing to me, Father Mike. My faith has grown so much because of your godly wisdom in these videos. Thank you.
@YAJUN YUAN I think he did.
Yes, Father Mike is the best! He is an amazing teacher of God’s word!
Godly. GOD. God.
I have joined the Priesthood and will be ordained in 2 years. Very happy for the Holy Eucharist 🥰
John 6:35
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.--unquote
Obviously you have NO understanding of that verse!!!!
READ IT AGAIN!!! "he who comes to Me will not hunger"- his body
"he who believes in Me will never thirst.-"--His blood!!!
Whomever FOLLOWS Jesus will NOT hunger--due to His words!!!
Whomever BELIEVES in Jesus will NOT THIRST--due to His words!!!
------ Communion
How do you labor for the food that endures to eternal life? Believe in me! (John 6:27, 29) “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me [in faith] shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:40) “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.” (John 6:47)
--------------------------------
When the crowd took offense at his gruesome talk, Jesus exposed their unbelief: “The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe” (John 6:63-64).
I am not even Catholic, but I can feel how the Eucharist is CHANGING me - I have started going to adoration every day, as soon as I found out what it really was. The first time I went, I cried. I was scared of RCIA before, but not any more - not after spending all these hours with Him. It feels too right.
I love you, but God will always love you more. Don't be afraid to confess your worries to him, because he is there to listen to your heart, no matter its condition. Because he will always love us unconditionally, and THAT is true love!
How blessed are you to witness God's calling for you?
Amen. Jesus in the Eucharist has saved me many times. During adoration and when I receive him. He is where I run when life get hard and when things are good. God bless you.
PRAISE JESUS! The Lord is calling you! You are so adored by God! He wants you, and desires a relationship with you! For you are His child, He loves you endlessly ❤
I keep hearing that from so many people. That they cried before the Blessed Sacrament. It is incredible because I have been a Catholic all , most, my life , but not until I went as an adult to the Blessed Sacrament for the first time that I could remember, did I cry. It was as joyous as it was like being with someone i love whom I missed thir absence for so long. It's hard to explain. 😢
are you born again?
Fr. Mike your video “The Hour That Will Change Your Life” is the reason I became fascinated with the Eucharist as a spiritually numb Protestant Christian. I am happy to say that I have come into the Church this past July 10th and I am ecstatic that I can literally have Christ within me sacramentally every single day. I’ve never felt closer to Christ in my entire life and I love being in full communion with the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic, Church. God bless you 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Another Eucharistic miracle! 😀 💗🙏💗
Welcome home! I’d like to invite you to pray the Rosary daily with Keith Nester on You Tube @ 5PM CST. He is a former Protestant Pastor who became Catholic 5 Yrs ago. He gives a reflection on each Mystery & there is a live chat to list your intentions. 🙏📿
This video changed my life too! ❤️
PRAISE GOD! Welcome home!!!!
So you were a Christian and now your a Christian? No my friend to be a Christian you MUST belong to the ONLY CHURCH THERE IS the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by God two thousand year’s ago! Protestant’s are NOT Christian even his holiness Pope St Pius IX said protestant’s are NOT Christian. Please watch Don’t call protestant’s Christian. Protestant’s belong to 40,000+ man made cults which I know isn’t nice to read or know. Protestant so called churches DON’T EXIST. Only Jesus Christ can found a Church NOT sinful men! I’ve recently rejected my so called baptism because it was done in the Cult of England many year’s ago when I mistakenly called it the Church of England,I now accept baptism by DESIRE. Please watch the warning or illumination of conscience by Christine Watkins. Then The Papacy can NOT be destroyed. Then Following Padre Pio! Also watch some excellent priest’s Fr’s Ripperger,Mark Goring,(especially today 29th July and 28th,on a Eucharist miracle),Bill Casey, and Chris Alar. God bless. Praise Jesus and Mary always!!! Ps please buy True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis de Montfort. I ask my guardian angel to help you and your family.
I suffered from reactive attachment disorder for 40 years, from infancy, until the breaking of the bread at my first Catholic mass. The Eucharist is exactly what the Catholic Church claims it to be. I would gladly die on this hill.
Alleluia! Thanks be to God! Beautiful thanks for sharing. Your witness is really important

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

No my friend, Christ is not in the eucharist, nor can man put Him in there.
I have reactive attachment disorder… I hope I can be blessed in this way too, I have just been accepted in the Catholic Church
I'm going to share this with my dear friend who's not a practising Catholic anymore. Just a couple of days ago she insisted that Holy Communion was just a symbol, not the real Body & Blood of Our Lord. I reminded her of Jesus's words at the last supper but to no avail. I was desperate to convince her. Now I can show her this, as your explanation is so clear. Thank you Fr Mike. It's amazing how I was led to see this. Just what I needed. Praise be to God. 🙏🙏🙏
Don’t be surprised if she still doesn’t believe. She probably needs prayers more than anything!
She is smart. And, listening to this nonsense won't change her mind.
@@hkk3656 smarter than the Lord Himself? Let's pray for eachother
Explain also that part of being in God's grace is not only believing in Him but also having faith in Him, which is to trust Him with all of your mind body and soul. God the Son says that when you adore Him through the Eucharist you are eating His flesh and drinking His blood, trust in Him and have faith that such is the case
@@johnm3734 I'm not a troll. Just calling out the Catholic church for the nonsense I was taught.
Hello Fr Mike. I always love your lessons and Bible in a year!
How lucky are we to have a priest who can explain things so concretely and charitably but who is truly aligned with the Church teachings and truth.
My husband and I had part of John 6 read at our wedding Mass for the Gospel. Some people thought that was weird, but it is the core of our faith and His greatest gift to us. Just as I was joined as one with my husband in the sacrament of marriage, Jesus is one with us when we receive the Eucharist.
Amen, Amen, Amen ... am very happy for you and your husband. My wife converted to Catholicism shortly after we were married, Sacramentally married, and she is so happy that now she can receive Jesus in the Eucharitst. Thank you for sharing your story.
God bless
Yeah and it breaks my heart that the reception afterwards was supposed to celebrate the ceremony has become for many the focal point.
Thank you!! God Bless your fam!!

WOW WOW WOW!!! 🤯 I am a Protestant but have been on my journey to Catholicism for a few months now doing tons of research and praying. And this video just broke down the last major wall keeping me from the church. I already planned on at least going through the classes, I think called RCIA, but had many reservations about the Eucharist, I just couldn’t wrap my mind around it and feared that would keep me from ever being able to become Catholic. Father Mike, when you brought up the incarnation, my soul cried out in relief, joy and amazement. I am so in love with my Lord and Savior and just overwhelmed with pure joy! It is so ironic that Catholics are so much more knowledgeable and in depth with the Bible, when growing up Protestant in a “Sola Scriptura” environment, learning half truths and complete misconceptions. Protestant beliefs left me feeling lost, confused and with little to no faith. Learning from the Catholic Church has not only brought me back to Jesus, but has allowed me to truly have faith deeply as well as intellectually. The beauty of how everything in the Bible ties together is so miraculous that it can only be God’s word, and now I FINALLY understand the Eucharist and believe in it! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FATHER MIKE! Thank the Lord I found Catholicism and thank the Lord we have men like you to teach us!!! ❤❤❤ I cannot wait until I have my first communion!
God has been affirming His real presence by providing Eucharistic miracles practically every generation. The latest ones below.

DON'T DO IT.... RESEARCH THE WICKED HISTORY OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND HOW THEY USED TO KILL CHRISTIANS!
They worship Mary so they not?
Why do they baptize infants who are without sin?
And do they not believe that a priest can forgive sins which is obviously false?
Transubstantiation is garbage.1John 4:2 Tells us that Jesus came in a real body. Came means in the past. And in a real body means that Jesus was a real physical human being just like us. John is telling us that Jesus was visible to our senses. John also tells us to not deviate from this teaching. John wrote this in90 a.d many years after Jesus died. John did not tell anyone that Jesus was in the local catholic church every sunday in bread and wine. Catholics have changed the word of God and added something to the bible. If Jesus were the bread and wine then John is a liar because John makes it clear that Jesus was in a physical body not bread and wine. And if John is a liar then why do catholics have a bible? Why follow the bible if the bible lies. Because John is not a liar, that means catholics are liars. 1John3:6 tells us that sinners dont know God or understand Him. So catholics cant even teach anyone about God because they don't know God.
@TheTruthsOfOurFaith Are yoy truly Christian? If you are, then try to show some gratitude. Take your comments and youtube channel down. You insulting The Holy Martyrs and The Body of Christ. True Christians should live each body of Christ. Do you even consider yourself part of this Body?
The Eucharist- receiving Jesus - transubstantiation - can’t be fully grasp by our limited human understanding. It is a mystery- that is faith. Trust and believe , because if God wants you to understand the details He will reveal them. Some things are a mystery- believing and trusting is faith. Why do we think that all the research we do could ever have us understand the triune God , who is omnipotent, omnipresent, Love infinite …. If you are trying to understand God , then you are reducing Him to your limited knowledge. How can anyone fathom the depth of His infinite Love - the greatest attribute He has shown/given from the beginning, and continues even beyond the centuries to come?
We did not hear Jesus say: " calm down fellas, i'm not say that literally. Come here and let me explain myself better."
He actually said to the disciples if they want to leave too. I always thought that this is an amazing and so simple way to understand Jesus said that literally.
Sorry for my english.
💯
I often wonder what exactly Jesus should have said, according to Protestants, if He really meant that the bread and wine were truly His body and blood?
What words SHOULD He have used if that was the message He was trying to convey. What words would convince them?
Can any Protestant point out to any other place in the New Testament where Jesus was misunderstood and He just let people walk away?
John 6:60-63
A difficult lesson Fr. Mike, and you explained it so very well! Thank you, praying for you always!
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.
Father Mike, just so you know, you make a difference in my life with every talk, I try to catch you every day! I also say prayers for you, too. Know your message is good and comes from God!
If I could give this more than one "thumbs up", I would.
I know you have discussed this topic a few times before, but it definitely deserves to be repeated. This is my favorite topic you discuss in your videos. Well said.
Thank you for explaining "the flesh is of no avail". It makes much more sense in comparison to speaking of His own flesh.
Thank you Father Mike
Glory to The Lord Jesus Christ! He is always with us. He lives in us and we live in him !
Amin. Amin 😇
These are such important truths we need to contemplate on a regular basis. Thank you, Fr Mike. God Bless. Claire.
A simple question: Animals want to live their lives just like u do. U thank God for giving life to u & also for giving life to animals for u to take their lives & eat them. Don't u see how they've tricked you to believe in an imaginary God by fooling u to arrogantly ignoring your hypocrisy & narcissism?
This is so brilliantly helpful. I am friends with many Christians who do not believe in the True Presence. They also point to the 'bread' being the 'word' that feeds us. However this short talk points to everything that shows that what Jesus said 'is' exactly what He says. I have always believed that the Eucharist is Jesus but I've had difficulty discussing with my Christian friends. Thank you Fr Mike and God bless all at Ascension.

Your podcasts was what got me back to my religion. I started praying and saying the rosary for my 12 year old nephew who was not liking the public school he was in trying to get into a charter school AMSA ( Advanced Math Science Academy ) He was 4th on the list for entry at the 7th grade level. Every day I prayed for him, and last Saturday went to mass in person and offered it up to him and his mother. I got word he was accepted for this September. PRAYERS DO WORK!. Thank you Fr.

But sadly we can’t drink his blood 💔
every Eucharistic Miracle has the host turning RED ... so it's full of blood, you just can't see it. you don't need the chalice to be drinking his blood.. don't be sad
the Eucharist, in either form, is the full Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ. rejoice that we are welcomed by Him to take and eat of it
The smallest drop of blood is in the consecrated host, the smallest spec of His flesh is in the consecrated wine.
You ARE receiving His blood.
But I know how you feel, this pandemic changed how we receive.
See if you can find a Parish that gives communion by intinction, dipping the consecrated host into the consecrated wine.
I hope that helps. 🙏
@@pattican700 thank you 😊
and where does that food go after you digest it? Christ is not in the eucharist.
Years ago John Michael Talbot came to our little town and performed his music in our local Catholic church. I was a young man, barely saved and in a lovely Free Methodist church. I knew nothing about anything except that Jesus is awesome, the Holy Spirit is powerful and with us, and I had very recently begun to understand Gods call to be holy. (I had heard JMT's CDs a friend had). To the point, about halfway through he sang a song about the Holy Eucharist. I'm not sure I had ever even heard that word before but I knew the Holy Spirit. Immediately the Presence of God flooded the sanctuary and I melted into tears, feeling overwhelmed by joy and gratitude. It was a Holy moment I will never forget.
One of the greatest things Saint Pope John Paul II did was implement the Luminous Mysteries, especially the fifth luminous mystery. He saved the BEST for last!! ❤️🙏🏼📿
Prayed the Luminous Mysteries today for the Divine Will to be done.
You're amazing brother Mike. God bless you and your family always stay with us always and stay with us longer. Hope to meet you physically with the congregation of our Church and clergy.
Protestants flee from the Eucharist just as the Jews fled from Jesus in John 6.
So glad I happened across this today (ah, with God there are no coincidences!) I left the Church in 2014 and joined a conservative Mennonite church. But I couldn't reconcile their views on many things, including Holy Eucharist as the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. There's more to why I left the Mennonite Church but suffice it to say your videos and succinct explanations have been instrumental in my return to the Catholic Church. Thank you, Fr. Mike.
Fr. If the Eucharist is so amazing and important then why did the church take it away from us during the virus? When we needed it the most😔
The smoke of satan has entered the church. Sadly many of our leaders are easily led astray. Unfortunately they closed our churches denying us the most precious nourishment of our faith for around two years. Very sad. But it somehow increased my faith and led me to meditate, pray and fast and grow closer to Jesus. God does work in mysterious ways.
Why do lay people with unconsecrated hands hand our our Lord? Why don't we use patens?
Probably because they didn't want to be responsible for spreading a virus among their congregation.
Father Mike, thank you so much for all you do. I am trying so hard to believe that Jesus is in fact present in the Eucharist. To that end I pray regularly for that knowledge in my heart. One of the sources of doubt for me, though, is the fact that wine (the Blood of Jesus) hasn't returned to the mass since it was stopped during the pandemic. I am praying to overlook my own sense of logic and just believe. Thank you again.... I'm praying for you, please prayfor me. Thank you.
Believe it. God has been affirming this thru Eucharistic miracles practically every generation. The latest ones below. Why do you still refuse to believe?

Once we understand the Eucharist we will never leave the Church. Not because the church won't let us but because our hearts won't let us.

What about our eternal salvation through believing in Jesus? I guess I don’t fully understand this Eucharist stuff even though I’ve gone to a Catholic Church, my whole life, but once I truly understood Christianity, I Am starting to not be a part of it due to the idolatry Inside of it
@@bsan7070There is no idolatry in the Catholic Church. Protestants are idolaters by making up their own God by misinterpreting Scriptures and denying the Truth.

Yeees! I’ve discussed this with my former crowd, the Evangelicals. They bring up “the flesh is of no avail”. Right, ours isn’t. That’s kinda why we need HIS.
Good point! Honestly that’s pretty easily refuted when you just talk about Jesus passion lol
@@joecardone4887 yes! Why go through that and offer His flesh TRULY if we only need to symbolically receive Him?
@@GratiaPrima_ Ya it doesn’t make sense. Without the sacrifice of Jesus’ BODY there’s no salvation lol
I believe that the body is important too. We are the temples of the Holy Spirit and people or rather saints who served as the temples of the Holy Spirit all their life living holy, the bodies of some of these saints have stayed incorrupt.
Another point is that we will be resurrected with our bodies on the last day being transformed into glorified bodies. Jesus Himself incarnated in a human body. He also resurrected with His body, he didn’t leave it behind. 😇🙂

HE spoke metaphorically!
The bread represents the body & blood symbolically in memory. We feed on the LIVING WORD which abides and is alive in us.

More videos on defending your Catholic faith to other Christians when questioned. I remember being in a rapid fire situation after moving to a different county. I went to the neighborhood Christian church on Sunday because I didn’t have time to look up Catholic Churches in the area yet. When they found out I attended a Catholic Church the questions started to fly and I became overwhelmed and couldn’t answer. Having a solid foundation on the basics like the Eucharist would have helped me a lot.
Thank you and God bless you Father Mike ❤🙏🏻
More, more, more videos on the Eucharist! Beautiful.
Thank you.
Once you get past the shock of the teaching it seems so obvious that it (almost) cannot be what Jesus meant. But the beauty of it is: He did mean exactly what He said. And all we need to do is believe. So fake it if you need to at first, but then BELIEVE it . Then you will fall in Love.
I have to slow down the speed in my setting so I would understand it clearly and better
Thanks for this talk fr Mike
Yes, carne in Spanish is meat. Incarnation is encarnacion in Spanish. Thank you so much Father Mike and Ascension presents. God bless you.
Encarnación...ó... is the only spelling correction, (accentuation on the last vowel)..God Bless you.
Bethlehem in Hebrew is "House of Bread." In Aramaic, it is "House of Meat." The word manger comes from the Latin word meaning "to eat."
I think the problem here is we have to zoom out a little. That same day in the Hebraic calendar, Jesus body was beaten, then He was nailed on the cross. He then stated on the cross “Father, into your hands I commit My spirit”. With this spirit, many become born again, becoming a part of the body of Christ. Jesus also said to do this in remembrance of Him. Remember the things He said, such as man does not live on bread alone, but every word that comes from the mouth of God. Jesus also said my food is to do the will of Him Who sent Me.
The Holy Eucharist and Consecrated Wine IS the BODY & BLOOD of JESUS!
As a eucharistic minister, I have had many spiritual experiences about this.
Once (of several experiences) as a eucharistic minister: I was assisting with administering the Holy Eucharist. As I held the chalice of the Hosts; I felt strong waves of graces flowing out from the chalice and filling the church! But these graces continued out of the church and into the World!!
Not only is the Holy Eucharist and Consecrated Wine IS the BODY & BLOOD of JESUS, but God is EVERYWHERE.
This is only one of other experiences about God's ACTUAL PRESCENCE in the Holy Eucharist and Consecrated Wine.
Unfortunately, our protestant brethren DO NOT BELIEVE in God's ACTUAL PRESCENCE in the Holy Eucharist and Consecrated Wine. How sad.
It's because of God's ACTUAL PRESCENCE in the Holy Eucharist and Consecrated Wine, that I have stayed Roman Catholic. Catholics are the only ones who believe in the TRANSFIGUARTION (by GOD) of the bread and wine into the BODY & BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST.
When we receive Holy Communion, we actually have God's physical being in us for a moment. This is how Miraculous healing can occur when you take Communion. God bless you all. ♥️
We go by transubstantiation as Catholics for Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist. And actually there are some Protestants that have a similar belief of Real Presence yet don’t have what we could consider valid holy orders to consecrate the bread and wine. Many of these types of Christians are becoming more and more fascinated with Catholicism and Orthodoxy after they read what the Church Fathers said about the Eucharist 🙌🏾
"TRANSUBSTANTIATION" is what you meant....."TRANSFIGURATION" REFERS to what the Bible teaches in Mt.17 where Jesus Christ's appearance was radiantly transformed.
Glory to The Lord! He has revealed himself to us!
Christ is not in the bread, never was and no man can put Him there. If for one moment you think Christ is in the bread where does that bread go after you eat and digest it? Christ is in us if we are saved and the bible is clear about that, actually crystal clear.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 6:19 What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own?
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, seeing whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not know that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you are disqualified.
Yay! This is so awesome! My sin is in catechism and I've been wanting a way to spend time each day doing our own learning of the church. This is perfect! Thank you Thank you Father Mike and everyone at Ascension!
Son not Sin lol

Let’s pray for the Protestants who deny Jesus’s own words here in His clear teaching in John 6
it's shocking it's even in the King James bible that Jesus says this is literally his body and blood in the breaking of the bread and wine during Mass. Just also learned the Mass is the living environment of the Scriptures. Because Moses did write from God that there was Mass in the Old Testament. It has always needed to be adjusted until Jesus made it right for us.
@@RocknRoRose One of the reasons for the Eucharist is to distinguish the True Church.
@J R repent, you don’t have much time left.
How do you know jesus said anything?
@J R sounds like a judgmental comment. I do pray for you 🙏
Jesus, the food that came down from heaven, to give us heavenly life. All the food on earth no matter how expensive they are is just dirt because it came from the earth. I realized that when I take His body and blood in the Holy Eucharist. I must be transformed and become Christ-like, in my thoughts, words and action. I pray for God's grace to become like Him little by little everyday. 🙏🙏🙏 Amen. Praise God!
Thank You Father Mike. God bless you for your ENTHUSIASM when sharing this MOST important TRUTH of the Catholic Faith. If all Priests and all Catholic would have this enthusiasm we wouldn't have a problem.
I cannot imagine anything more crushing, more unwanted than eternal life.
It is also VERY important to know and note that the concordance and related lexicon for those verses describe the meaning of the word "eat" as gnaw, which is why the disciples left and were disgusted, and the meaning of the word "life" (in verse 53) as resurrected life IN THE FLESH!!! It's always been there, just like Father Mike mentioned about "my" vs. "the".
THE flesh refers to sinful flesh that takes life and brings death, while the Spirit of God that is embodied in Jesus brings resurrected life through His perfectly holy and obedient (to the entire law) flesh. So, the flesh of Jesus is also His life giving Spirit, but now it's new life with Him in Heaven instead of just physical life apart from His Spirit here on earth.
The breath of life animates the bodies of both the evil and the good, but it's only His resurrected, eternal flesh that gives that same life of His to those who eat it while honoring Him. We are truly what, or more accurately who, we eat. The bread of faithful obedience that is the flesh of our Lord and Savior, or the fruit of our temptor who is our accuser onto destruction.
We already disobediantly and lustfully ate the first, so now are we going to faithfully and obediently eat the second and the last unto salvation?! Chose wisely!!!
In Christ,
Andrew
Thanks!
@5:11, this, exactly! His flesh is divine, not human flesh.
THIS is why I converted from Protestantism. Everything was taken out of context and reinterpreted to support inaccurate beliefs.
I came to the Catholic Church to get the truth and the true body, blood, soul, and divinity of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.
There’s no going back. God bless you Father Mike Schmitz.

@@robertamansfield3375 more than a moment! He feeds us His flesh and blood, words so true that many left Him.
Think of this, when we consume Jesus in the Eucharist we are being nourished, physically and spiritually. Our bodies are constantly creating new cells.
How beautiful that when we receive the Eucharist our own bodily cells are being created and nourished by the author of life!
I believe you meant Transubstantiation. I was meditating on the Transfiguration the other day, Jesus appearing with Moses and Elijah, and my mind went blank and I couldn’t recall the the word since they’re both so close (and two similar and exquisite mysteries!).
Love what you shared! 🙏♥️
The Catholic Church teaches we eat the human body, human blood, human soul and Divinty of Jesus Christ. This is because while Jesus has one Divine Personhood he has two natures one fully Divine and one fully human. He also has two Wills, one fully Divine and one fully human. The Divine Personhood of Jesus is the second person of the Holy Trinity, The Logos.
We take the Bible IN context
we should use the verb transubstanciate (if it exists) more often, to highlight that even if the bread remains being bread, the substance of Christ is present
My wife years ago had one of her adult students at college she tutored stop by the house one day.
He is a delightful young man who is a believing and practicing Muslim.
She just happened to be reading John 6 and asked him what he thought. He had never heard this Gospel before.
Without knowing the disciples objections beforehand he parroted virtually word for word their incredulity:
“Teacher’ he said. (He always called her that). “Teacher! This is a very hard saying! How can this be True!”
My wife nearly fell off her chair.
It is a “hard saying” but nonetheless - True.
True if you don't believe in the bible.
Boom!
Thank you Fr Mike, i just finished BIAY ♥️😇 i'll keep praying for everyone 🙏🙏
Fr.Mike, first and foremost thanks to God for the gift of your amazing way of communicating God's teachings! Good bless you! I watch all your videos. Could you please make videos about what Jehova witnesses believe in? Thank you!!
This is why I love going to the Traditional Latin Mass --such beauty and reverence for the Holy Eucharist!!
And you don't find that with the Novo Ordo Mass? Hundreds of millions of Catholics still do.
all other christian faiths that have the EUCHARIST ritual have the same reverences, I have the experience, the language has nothing to do with it, just add another and different level of mysticism.
You can find that at Novus Ordo as well. Please don't be divisive; the world does that to us enough.
We wouldn’t need any demons if once save, always saved. But demons are here to take you out of that walk, and nobody leaves a perfect life we all fall for the grace of God not vial, but mortal sins, so it just takes common sense and you gotta have the spirit to understand it❤️🕊
Fr. Mike
Where is the justification for Extraordinarily Eucharistic Ministers to be used at all times in ordinary circumstances?
In January 1973, Pope Paul VI, in the instruction "Immensae Cariatis," extended this permission to the universal Church. He wrote "Present-day conditions demand that É greater access to Holy Communion should be made possible so that the faithful, by sharing more fully in the fruits of the sacrifice of the Mass, might dedicate themselves more readily and effectively to God and to the good of the ChurchÉ First of all, provision must be made lest reception become impossible or difficult owing to a lack of a sufficient number of ministers."
Father Mike, you seem to be nice inside, as you are outside, i think. I say this because i only see you in these videos
Thanks you for all you do! May He continually bless you and give you that peace that passeth understanding! 💓🌄
wow, awesome teaching
When Jesus says: “Amen, amen......” this is a particularly important thing I am about to say.
It is a Stop, Look up, Focus and Listen moment. It is a Must Believe and Do moment - you’re Life depends on this what I am about Say.
So, Stop, Look Up, Focus and Listen. Your Life depends on doing and believing what He is about to say.
“Amen, Amen. I say to YOU....”
Thank you Lord.
Don't we need to learn that none of this is about us? It's ALL about God, in the Trinity, and His Glory. Whatever good we do is His goodness in us coming out.
It is so important for Catholics to understand the teachings of the Church. Thank you Father Mike and Ascention Presents!
More important to know the teachings of Christ, the word of God
@@sammygomes7381 The Church is the Bride of Christ. Christ's revelation is deposited and cherished in the living community of the Catholic Church, from which it is then faithfully transmitted in its fullness to the entire world. Tradition, Scripture, and Magisterium are the deposit of faith. Through apostolic succession, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Church has faithfully cherished and transmitted the deposit of faith she received from Christ, which includes both Tradition and Scripture in accordance with the Risen Lord's command: "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to the whole creation" (Mk 16:15).
@@natantateishi9112 You are correct that the church is the bride of Christ; however, that church does not have a name as it is made up of individual born-again Christians that follow the teachings of Christ, the word of God. When a church dogma overrides the teachings of Christ there is going to be a problem for someone. Remember Christ nor the apostles said mass, they didn't baptize infants and they only prayed to the Father, not Mary or saints.
So its no longer about salvation and making deciples? Its about feel emotionally good with apparently a guy in your stomach? About feeling close with God? Its not about if you say Jesus is Lord and believe and represent and obey you will be saved and get heavenly rewards? Also what part of his body we you eating? Seriously what on earth. Communion is symbolic its so we remember Jesus us Christianity berad and butter. I need to eat specific DNA to be saved today. Please tell me. I don't mean to have a mocking tone. I am just venting my thoughts and being honest about the questions I have. There is no dumb question.
I think it can be both. It would be difficult, I think, to spread the Word of Salvation and make disciples without feeling good and close with God. Ultimatelly I believe we are responsible for our own salvation, as we have free will. That being the case, anyone is free to be or not to be part of Christ's Holy Church and Worship the Lord as He told his disciples how He wanted to be worshiped and remembered. I think Jesus was very clear that He is present in the Eucharist. Anyway, as people will, they either believe in the Mistery of the Eucharist or dont, as so many protestants do and go after the church of their own choice, fitted to their own temperament and choosing the parts they feel good about. But the Bible itself told of the doubters in john 6 51-58: “This saying is hard; who can accept it?” and left him. As so many still do today. Being a Catholic was never meant to be easy, at least this is what I believe. But we can all try, after all by the Word of Christ Himself: “For human beings this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.” And this rather consoles me very much.
I left my Catholic faith for many arguments like this, and it was the Lord himself who brought me back, and with a bigger and deeper understanding this time around, and I thank him for that so much it is in receiving the Eucharist that you receive strength healing, and you have to take it in in holiness to feel the difference. If you go take it in and not in spirit and truth, then you’re not you just not gonna feel anything because you’re not receiving it you’re actually receiving condemnation to Yourself, so if it were real, it’s just people are being destroyed for lack of knowledge and the church is being attacked because when something is real and true, it will be attacked. It’s just like you when you give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and begin to live a good life you begin to have trials and tribulations if you’re not having any trials and tribulations, you need to worry.❤️🕊
As an Anglican, I can truly say that I can feel Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist. It has transformed and nourished my faith.
Is that a tattoo on Fr.Mike?.... He's so cool. I love Fr.Mike, even if he didn't have tattoos. I don't just hear him talk about Jesus, I hear Jesus in him❤️ love ya Fr.Mike! Keep on keepin on. Love listening to you🙌
Amen!❤❤❤❤
If our bodies can eat bread and drink wine, and turn them into our flesh and blood, why can't Jesus take bread and wine and turn them into his flesh and blood?
That’s really silly logic. hypothetically, God can do anything
Amazing 💙💙💙
Brilliant! What an exceptional meditation on the Eucharist and the bread of life discourse. Thank you Fr. Mike.
Idioms, allegories, figurative expressions - all existed in Christ's day, folks. Jesus did not want us to teach that we literally drink his blood and eat his flesh as it pertains to the Eucharist. The bread and the wine are symbolic items within the Passover meal that he pointed his disciples to. That is the true meaning. Catholicism is nothing but (corrupt) man-made traditions that often stem from pagan practices.
Nice try, but your interpretation is not supported by True Christians now or those who lived closest to the time of the Apostles. You’re essentially ignoring the words of Christ and are therefore, a hypocrite.
@@littleone1656 did Christ ever break His Father’s Law while he was in the flesh on earth?
Well i read only the original language text of the New Testament never translations.i would be a satanic liar as i read that text say that the body and blood is not reall
Fr. Mike....great job explaining the nuances related to this belief. Thank you for your efforts. They are greatly appreciated.
Fr. Mike, I gotta tell you: you're talking mostly to Muslims here, and at least two Catholics. We believe things the same way. God bless your Ministry.
The Church is spending 28 million dollars on this project. This is a waste. Just simply return to the traditional norms of Eucharistic piety. Ad Orientum, altar rails, receive on the tongue, frequent examination of consciences/ confession, saying "my Lord my God" the elevation. Simple as that. People learn by what they see, not what they are told intellectually.
I don't agree with you that Ascension is a waste, but I do agree that these norms must return so that we understand better. I'm someone who learns best by doing rather than hearing
Pax in Christi
@@TheFaceSoap You misunderstand. The USCCB is doing a 28 million dollar Eucharist awareness campaign. Basically another program that may or may not work. I say save the money and return to the traditional norms of piety. Ascension does good work and is not a waste of money.
Respectfully disagree. All of those things are great and wonderful, but they only matter because of the truth behind ir. People need to know the why along with the what to do, lest they become empty gestures. Those practices you listed support and reinforce the truth, but it doesn't necessarily teach it.
@@stewartcollins948 Yes we obviously need to teach it on a intellectual level. But we also need to practice what we preach. Actions speak louder than words. It's funny belief in the real presence started to decline when we got rid of all the traditional norms of Eucharistic piety. All I am saying is we need to return to tradition.
@@tMatt5M I agree that we need to return to those traditions, just that it's not as simple as that. We need to instruct people intellectually as well as in practice. Not either-or but both-and.
The bodily nourishment we receive from consuming earthly food and drink is meant to help us understand the nourishment our souls receive when we consume the precious Body and Blood of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Our bodies get weak and die without earthly food and drink. Likewise, our souls get weak and die without spiritual food and drink, that being Christ, Himself. It was through consumption in the Garden of Eden that we fell; therefore, it is through the consumption of Christ our Redeemer that we are alive again.
Thanks be To God. Understanding this brought me back to the church and helped me understand why I felt peace at the church. Viva Cristo Rey.
It was the first and last meal known to man with sin. For the body of Christ, who takes away the sins of the world. The only real meal that God shared with us
I believe I could come up with at least 100 reasons why everyone should believe that the Eucharist is really Jesus himself! Believe ✨✨✨
A Catholic man and i online were discussing the differences in beliefs of the eucharist. He said “weather its the real presence or remembrance is irrelevant. If there is no heart change, theres no point. “
Amen to that.
I refuse to protest my catholic bros and sis’s. I disagree on this teaching but i refuse to divide on it.
You are brilliant. Thank you from Canada.
The context of John 6 shows us that to eat and drink Christ’s flesh and blood is not a carnal act but rather a spiritual act of trusting in Jesus. John 6:22-59 parallels the eating that leads to eternal life with belief, making the two things identical. The Lord’s Supper signs and seals this belief, showing that the One in whom we believe is both God and man, having a true human body. We need the humanity of Christ no less than we need His deity, and the physical elements of the supper impress this on our hearts and minds.
Actually, in John chapter 6, Jesus spoke about the importance of BELIEVING in Him BEFORE verse 51. He never mentioned anything about eating His FLESH before verse 51. But AFTER verse 51, he started talking about the importance of EATING His flesh and DRINKING His blood. And so it is not true to say that the WHOLE of John chapter 6 is all about BELIEVING in Jesus or having FAITH in Him.
Besides, there is NOWHERE in the whole of John chapter 6 where Jesus explains to us that His statement : "EAT my flesh and DRINK my blood" actually means "TRUST in me" or "BELIEVE in me".
@@jerome2642 Conceding your point still doesn’t mean transubstantiation. Real presence can be explained in other ways.
@@paulsmallwood1484 orthodox dont use that term but believe the Holy Eucharist is the reall body and blood of Jesus Christ
That is the best difference that make these statement understandable. The difference between “the flesh” and “My flesh”
In John 15, Our Lord tells us that He must abide in us and we in Him. ( some translations use “remain” ). How does this happen ? He tells in John 6 the only way this is accomplished. Verse 56 - by eating His Flesh and Drinking His Blood.
Thank you Fr. Mike. I really enjoy seeing all your videos. I am/was like the doubting Thomas, unless He show me I will not believe. Yet, by His love and Grace, Jesus Christ has reached into my misery and showed me so much. The Eucharist is the Bread of Life…Amen.
Yes we do!
The love of our redeemer who wanted to leave a piece of him inside his faithful. On the last day we cannot resurrect on our own. we have to have a piece of him for angels to gather us on that fateful day, when the Sun and moon have moved away and there is darkness all over the four corners, only the glow of the Eucharist in the faithful. Our Lord was absolutely insistent with his followers to the point of losing his followers on this truth and mystery. Only Peter and the twelve "Lord, to whom shall we go, You have the words of eternal life…"
and for this reason when was the last time you seen an incorruptible relic exposed to natural elements, of a protestant or other denominations. Its only among Catholics and perhaps Orthodox, you find this mystery and a miracle, unexplained by science.
