  • CORUH Hydroelectric Power Plant 20 kW and UN(flour) Factory was built for the first time in 1904 during the Ottoman Empire II. It was established during the reign of Abdulhamid. In 1936, during the Republican period, it was re-operated by a German company and its engineers and continued to serve until 1970. With the rehabilitation of the existing Bayburt Hydroelectric Power Plant building, both the historical texture has been preserved and it has started to produce 450 kW of clean energy using an “nature and fish friendly” technology.
    CORUH Bayburt HEPP, Turkey's first licensed and domestic Archimedes screw Turbine system, consists of three ASTs, each generating 150 kW of energy, and provides an annual energy production of 2,248,225 kWh/year. While the system produces 450 kW of energy, it prevents 2,190 tons of CO2 emissions per year as it uses water, a renewable and clean source, instead of fossil fuels. This amount corresponds to 6340 trees/year that need to be planted in order to compensate for the carbon dioxide that may be released. These values ​​show us the importance of this system for green energy production. The return on investment of the AST facility, whose design, project design, production and assembly process takes 6 months, will be provided in a short time like 3.5 years compared to other hydroelectric facilities. The industrial working life of the system is calculated as 40 years.
