Viotti is mainly known as author of violin concertos. It is nice to be in a position to hear a beautiful ceelo concerto from him.

According to some sources Viotti may have written the tune for the French national anthem "The Marsellais" The tune appears in one of his compositions about 10 years before it appeared in the Roget D'Lisle version during the Revolution.
