Probably the most often used edc item you clued me on to is the simple duct tape on plastic card. Besides the everyday applications, last year I was hiking in Yosemite, a woman came past me on a trail and the bottom her shoe blown out and barely holding on. Duct tape to the rescue, thanks for once again making me the hero. LOL
When putting hydrogen peroxide into a 2nd container, use an opaque, dark container. Light quickly breaks down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. That's especially true at warmer temps, and a carry bag is apt to get pretty hot in Summer. This is why you only see hydrogen peroxide sold in dark, opaque containers.
That s2 juice is bringing back memories first recommendation of yours I bought was that exact model of s2 juice 2007-2008ish. Sadly it was stolen along with my bag back in 2012 and I’ve never replaced it. But damn memory unlocked, thanks Nutn!
I have that bag in the same color and love it. My primary use is as a vehicle first aid kit. I’m using the 4-banger for that purpose in my wife’s vehicle. The quality and durability of these 5.11 bags make them an excellent value.
For work, in the summer, I definitely rock the fanny pack. I have a Merrell one. Can't remember the damn name of it. Dudes can make fun of me all they want, but it helps keep all that weight out of my pockets and in a place I can reach into without thinking much about.
I’ve been using those 3M earplugs for years. I eventually pull the cord out on purpose and throw them in my pocket. I literally carry them every day, as I’m always doing something loud (riding, shooting, running a mower, tractor, etc.).
I like how you don’t limit your gear to the latest stuff. I have used a 5.11 PUSH pack since at least 2010. I used to keep my Fenix TK10 and G26 inside. It has stood the test of time.
A good EDC starts with mission perimeters and a realistic RA (risk assessment). For me when in town, we live 30 miles away in ranch country, my kit consists of: XDS 45 w/ TLR3, 2nd magazine, stop the bleed kit, pencils, index cards (8), sharpie red, sharpie black, Leatherman Wave, wet ones, 2 blue shop towels, two lighters. The rest of my kit is in the Tundra along with 2 FA kits, and emergency items as you mentioned. The idea being just enough stuff to get to the vehicle.
Have the same OLITE IT3 and You are right, it is terrific. Also the Baldor pistol light is awesome. Nice bag, like a messenger bag, have a roaring fire sling bag now and not crazy about how it sits.
Great Video and Info ! Have the Maxpedition 17 inch laptop bag (with Owl Patch) that is to small to be a proper daypack. Also have the Cadet knife in blue ! My pens have Fisher Space pen refills ! ! ! My favorite whistle is the London Bobby whistle. An advantage of the 18650 batteries is they can be replaced with two CR123 batteries... tjl
The spray bottle of alcohol is sweet. I been using alcohol since way back when your channel started. Being a machinist, my hands are covered in little cuts, and I can tell when my hands are dirty. I use good soap to counter the potential dry skin, which i don't get. People used to call me a germaphobe, people never said it again in 2020 lol. Thank you for being you, and sharing yourself with us. I reminisce of the good old days, and your videos can always bring me back to a time and place in my life. Your a hero to me uncle nutn, damn good Joe. I rewatch that one often, just to keep myself from turning into a sad sack. I will continue to lead from the front sir, suck less.
I bought the other version of this bag. It has an extra pockect on top instead of the pass through zipper. The bag has molded into being the perfect edc bag for me. Bought a second bag as backup.
I carry that pack and the older version. The one issue I’ve had with the new version are the zippers on the “gun” pouch. They like to partially up-zip themselves. Thanks for the video and keep them coming.
Hey Nutnfancy, I may have missed it, but do you also carry a small sharpening/knife edge maintenance tool? I carry a Corona Tungsten edge tool and a Victorinox pen-like stone & diamond v sharpening tool. Also, any ideas on carrying some meds you (not wound management) need daily, such as antacid medication or heart medication? Love the contend Sir, keep up the great work soldier. Carry on! 😂
I personally do not find it hard to carry the essentials, unless there are certain areas that don’t like freedom. I’m sure once I get my concealed carry the knife situation will change but until then, I’m compensating slightly for the lack of firearm.
It would be good to see a high Denier option like this, but less Tactical looking and something that can blend in. I carry my Osprey 30L Backback for International travel.
I don't get the purpose of multiple knives, scissors, lighters, and flashlights. I already keep one of each in my pockets daily, so I keep a larger one of each in my pack. Why carry multiples in the same pack?
Sonia is probably made of Silicone or TPE. A very sparring amount of super glue should fix the cracks. I use Starbond CA glue with a micro applicator. In case you were wondering, yes I have the life-size version.
Great set up! But for the weight do all those Swiss Army knives and the juice you really could just have a charge! Lol that container would make a decent get home bag for your car.
I love your videos nutn, but saying weight matters then pulling out 10 knives 😛 seems to counter that point even if they're all light. With that said, you're way more prepared than I am.
I love my Leatherman mini tool and Surefire Titan, got them on a key ring I can clip onto my truck keys. Not ashamed to admit that and Id totally show them on a gear check
The small Olight is great, it simply goes from 10 to 200 lumens. Maybe it was 5, but you don't need to be blinded in some scenarios. It starts at the lower lumens.
Yeah the same guys who crap on our choices of EDC items are the ones who dont carry much if anything lol...You picked an unreliable gun and its not even 45acp, you have a bad knife, your flashlight sucks, your keychain tools are useless, meanwhile this guys got a bag of peanut M&M's and his keyfob, LOL...My favorite one is always "you dont actually carry all that crap" 😁
Why would you write down when and where you bought a lighter on the lighter? I thought about possible reasons before asking and couldn't think of a reason to do that.
i have a way i carry a small amount of alcohol for my edc. i reuse cleaned out eye drop bottles. it is sterile, doesn't leak and holds enough alcohol for first aid for a long time in a very smail packable bottle.
Love my HW haversack. There’s not much to it, but it’s perfect and light. I don’t care for tons of pockets and compartments. They play into my OCD and need to organize everything, and when given a loop or pocket, I find myself needing to fill it with something that I probably don’t need or wouldn’t carry otherwise. It’s a curse really. The simplicity of a haversack keeps me focused on what I actually need and use. I do wish it had more shape keeping material in the seams, but a small hand towel is always handy and will help keep the bag from collapsing if only carrying minimal stuff. That said, I mainly use mine in the woods or on the water. For any situation in town or in the city that necessitates that I carry more than my pockets or a small fanny pack can handle, I just turn to an under filled backpack and keep it minimal. Get home bags and the basic survival gear stay in the truck, so I don’t carry much in the way of that kind of stuff in any of my EDC bags, aside from some basic medical and a blowout kit, since I carry 100% of the time.
I only carry a bag small bag if I know I’m gonna be doing something for a while like say a event where I’m sitting for a while all day and just have things for my family to use if they need it if I’m like moving about all day no I just carry what’s on me pocket wise. No need to carry a bunch of shit to the store or errands. If I’m traveling still I carry a bag a few bags actually but they stay in the car unless I go hike hotel or am wandering about.
“We need…scissors, lots of scissors.” 😂 Also, something to think about: if you’re carrying a handgun in a bag, it’s not a bad idea (I think) to store it in the actual holster you would carry it on your person with. This way you can just grab the whole thing and stuff it, pass it off to someone else, or just draw directly from the bag. It makes it a little more multi purpose and functional.
Tactical thong review video incoming? I have a Maxpedition Jumbo pack but it can be bulky. It holds more but it's a bit large for EDC. Been looking for something a little smaller like this or the Fatboy.
Hey nutn, the rope you showed in the blue color is made by Atwood rope. This is Roman Atwood from RUclips, it is his dads rope factory. You should hit him up. He is pro 2a and he would be awesome to see on a shoot with you guys. Not to mention he just got into flying helicopters and I think you guys would hit it off. Just saying. Also the owl patch and the glock tnp patch brings back memories from 2010-2012.
I have minimalist OCD, so your bag freaks me out. Paracord hanked with zip ties?? Dude? not cool. You should wear a Gucci Fanny pack. Thanks for the vid Nutn.
thanks for the data, it's a pass for me, I'm a camel Mule pack system, I have different colors, one as work pack, another EDC color for the grab and go daily, great data Col, thanks for the time investment for the TNP natio
