That was great! I'll be rewatching this video more than once. Maybe even with my wife. She's always asking me what I want for Christmas. Now I can refer her to this video. And when she asks me which one, I'll be like Gary Oldman's character in the movie "The Professional" when he tells his fellow cop to bring everyone and the cop says "everyone?" and Stansfield yells "EVERYONE". Of course I'll be a little more polite, after all she does have the combo to the gun safe.
Let's get weird. Never seen before in TNP are SOME of my fave knife combos. We will revisit many HOF tactical and EDC blades in these parings. Many gift ideas will result as well. Grab the popcorn as we get into a feature length TNP Knife Nation exclusive!
+nutnfancy Before you mentioned the Cold Steel Espada i actually called it out in my head. Laughed like hell when you said it, somehow i wasn't surprised. Great video man!
Thanks for that shout out Nutn! I was the one at Costco with the 904-1!!! I also had the Cadet and Classic Victorinox limited edition blue colorations.
Just picked up the Ontario RAT 1 Black last night. Great knife and very sharp out of the box. Thanks Nutnfancy. The Owl is on the shed and he is pleased with his knife choice.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you chose one of my favorite knives in this review! I base 90% of my weapon or EDC purchases off of your channel. I'm trying to turn my dad into a TNPer as well :)
That Cold Steel Espada XL..... Gorgeous blade! Not sure how practical it is but the mere awe of her curves, fit and finish are astounding. This would go great alongside a blingy pistol just for mere appearances alone. Very nice!
Pausing this at 21:11 to inform you that I LOVE my flashback, I literally carry it with me everywhere. I even convinced one of my friends to get one and he adores it as well. Awesome knife, I know a lot of people that always want to take mine and just play with it.
Spyderco Manix 2 lightweight dark blue in S110V has been my EDC for a few months now. Love the weight, blade shape, and steel. It does everything I need and more as a coffee roaster, so mostly opening burlap coffee bags.
A proper knife EDC combo is a cheap hacker + a sturdy nice expensive knife, or a pure combat knife + a pure utilitarian knife, or a really big knife + a really small knife. My EDC combo: swiss army credit card knife kit + cold steel safemaker 2. No tool knives like the leatherman, since I have real tools in my car + spetsnaz shovel, barong machete, tactical hatchet + survival go-bag.
The detent on the Spyderco Endura & Delica is needed! I had a gen 1 Endurda. That lock would occasionally release with hard use; I think my knuckle actuated the lock. It happened enough I actually wrote to Sypderco and complained that the knife would open under pressure--they told me the knife was fine as designed, but then came out with the detent. Keep the detent!
Awesome! I was just looking for a EDC knife and I thought "I wonder what nutn has to say about knives?" I look ya up on RUclips and one of the first videos in the suggestions is this gem. Its just what I was looking for. The intro made me even more excited.
I loved all the knives presented and the enthusiasm for knives in general. I too am a knife dork. I hate looking at knife reviews or ads as I am frequently tempted.
How cool, the Endura and Delica are some of my favorites too, and I have them in various colors. But today I have a Cara Cara 2 in my pocket. Awesome knife for $18!
I almost had to apply for a loan after watching this video. Very good set of examples IMO. I did have to do some research on the Boker Exskelimoor and it was eventually added to my cart. I think it will serve a good purpose. Thanks for the idea
Have a few knives myself. Endura and delica combo is hard to beat. Don't let their simple looks fool you. You have to handle them for a while to appreciate their value.
Killer video Nutnfancy, that was fun. I've had the truly venerable Endura and Delica for years and they have never let me down. Also carry an older Al Mar Falcon with Mother of Pearl that I love in my backpack. Still loving my purple TNP Lionsteel SR-1, that thing is sick. Cheers.
What about pairing a folder knife with a fixed blade knife ? My choice is the SOG Trident in TiNi black With the SOG Seal Strike with high tech sheath in all black. Have not decided were to place the fixed blade yet; hanging from the SOE EDC belt with the Cobra buckle, on the 5.11 tactical LBE vest with the tip up or placed in the pack. See some knives in action and an interesting pairing of knives in the Blunt umbrella review by Nutnfancy on RUclips ! Thank you for a great short video on knives ! tjl
Thanks Nutn. Stroll down memory lane. I've been carrying the Spyderco junior. I just love the blade shape. Super easy to sharpen on the Edge Apex. Hope all of the Nutn nation had a great Thanksgiving.
+theguccipilot The Junior is a nice one. I have had mine for a few years, it was my first $100+ knife. Now I carry it time to time as a secondary blade, with a larger knife tucked away.
Spiderco Endura FG4 is my favorite knife. It fills every role an edc may need to fill, and the VG10 steel holds an edge really well. At ~$60 its a great deal.
Swiss army makes some of the best folding knives. You can get a multi blade folding knife with other utility options in a Swiss Army knife. You can get one for $20 or less at Walmart and it will last for years. I have a boyscout one from 1990 and it still holds an edge.
Holy crap, the Cuttlery-shoppe is amazing. Paramilitary starting @ $108??? Love it. Especially compared to amazon $150 for camo version and even knifecenter with $135 for camo version.
+Martin Benek Not for nothing, but if you check Massdrop.com they have a Paramilitary 2 for 99.95, satin blade finish. Ten dollars extra for black blade though.
I carry a SOG Slim Jim XL. As it's name suggests, it's slim, light and although it's over 4'' long, it disappears in a pocket. The assisted opening is nice and smooth, once you get used to it. Not particularly sturdy, but it's not really designed to be. It's my favorite EDC. I have a Police Model three that I carry at work, but it's much thicker so I don't carry it while I'm just out and about.
+ProjectDarkHound The delica 4 was the first one I got after a number of Victorinox swiss army knives, its a nice little knife that I still have on me at some days. After that among others a Benchmade 940 and a Spyderco Endura 4 entered my collection, those 3 are the knives I tend to go for most and enjoy using most out of my collection of folding knives. The Delica 4 is a nice little knife that fits well into the smaller pockets and the choice between the 940 and endura is on most days really a random pick based on mood. Although during cold winters I'll frequently prefer either FRN handle Spyderco over the aluminium 940 if I expect to have to use them extensively in cold weather without gloves, much less heat transfer with that compared to aluminium handles. When it comes to blade length I think I'd usually opt for the endura if it was going to be the only knife, but if I know I'll only be using it for specific light jobs and nothing else the delica could be good. But those few cm of extra cutting edge really make a difference when using them for food prep and such, tough choice really they are both great knives! I definitely would not opt for something smaller than the delica as EDC that's for sure, but outside that either get both or try handling both in a store?
Tough choice, but something that might help you depending on what you plan to use the knife for is to just think carefully about what knives you use for each purpose right now. Consciously think about what knives you grab for example in the kitchen when doing various cutting tasks. Perhaps if it applies to you also do the same for other workshop tasks, out in the field etc. Then if you find that you opt for a more endura sized blade also intentionally try doing the ones you'd normally do with a smaller one (and the other way around too I suppose). That might help with giving you an idea if you prefer the larger or the smaller knife, and how easily you could do the small knife jobs with the larger one (or other way around). If pocket space is the primary concern and you find it hard to interpret the listed dimensions (spyderco is quite great at this on their website, very precise specifications when it comes to opened and closed dimensions are listed) make a similarly sized wooden mocukup that might even have a clip. See if you can fit it in the pockets or other places you plan to carry it without issues. Ideally you should also try handling both knives in a store if possible, but the handle design is pretty good and should not be a problem for most users. Its to me actually one of the more long term use comfortable ones actually. I'd still prefer a larger more oval and slightly contoured fixed blade handle for long heavy use but if I had to I could get by with delica/endura.
Man I love Spyderco. I have some nice Emersons man it's really hard to beat a Spyderco for EDC. I carried a delica for years and it served me very well. My wife is carrying a delica now and I have been EDCing a paramilitary 2 for 7 months. Lightweight, quality. Difficult to beat. I didn't want to like the brand when I started carrying knives. But the quality truly speaks for itself
Endura is absolute home run for all around knife. Anyone looking for a do it all utility knife that's balanced, I fully support spyderco endura. Nuts has had this on him in multiple vids. Purchases thanks to nutns review. Great price point.
wow, pretty cool video. I found you from your FJR videos. I ride an 09. I see you are really in to knives. I have a fondness for them too, but after watching this, I know NOTHING about knives. Very educational. I am going to get one of these.
for my birthday two years i got a Kershaw Skyline and have been carrying it everyday since. just freed up time and started working for a little spending money and have been scouring bladeops and bladehq for value blades. Bought a few blades that are awesome, some turned out to be not so impressive but the collection is growing and i'm learning my own personal preferences. My current EDC combo is a Boker Mini Auto Kalashnikov, and a Byrd Cara Cara 2 FRN. Also bought a Spyderco Resilience, but it's a little heavy, and I forgot that blade length limit in Florida is 4" because I was so excited to get it. Have to check with a LEO to feel out how strict they are with that. I have an Ontario RAT 1 on the way to probably replace the Cara Cara.
Microtech now makes a HALO 6 that has a pocket clip, it is custom only at this point retailing at $1500. And the Socom Elite has been 100% discontinued replaced by the Socom Delta which is lighter with a frame lock for added strength.
It would be cool to make a video series on the concept of "Second kind of cool". Lets see all the things that you love that are less than optimal for function.
I too would love to see a similar video for fixed blades. EDC or otherwise, all fixed blades are cool. Thanks for this innovative idea though. Great content as always!
my go to edc blades are a Kershaw CQC 5K and a Spyderco Sage 3 with the "ziptie mod" which i recently added on that im very pleased with how effective it is. I got a ZT 0350 bw (with an ebay deep pocket clip) which i'll occasionally carry if im wearing jeans or pants with a heaver material
Damnit nutn. I'm just getting home from work at 12:45 am and have to be up for a snowboarding trip at 6 am. But of coarse I have to watch your new videos and regret it in the morning 😂
Anyone else think that the british racing green endura would be outstanding looking with a black blade and hardware? (just like it looked on the camera with the lighting at the beginning of the vid)
loved the vid Nutn! was kind of suprised that I didn't see the Benchmade 940 or the Cold Steel Mini AK-47 on the list though, they are also HOF knives if I recall. Thanks for the video! Keep up the great work Nutn!
Hey nutnfancy im 17 and a knife collector and I have always enjoyed piranha knives but could never afford one I could never afford a hec knife because my dad is disabled and the job i worked was to help him so you give reviews to show me the awesome knives out there including the infamous piranha knives and give me a feel of what my future can hold to where i can afford those knives but so i comment to thank you for spending the hard working money into all these beautiful blades so thanks nutnfancy and thanks TNP
I recently got the PM2 orange w/ black. By far the most $ I've spent on a knife. It replaced a Tenacious in my EDC and I LOVE IT. Also EDC a small-ish SAK w/ philips head driver instead of cork screw (idk the name) but that rarely gets used because the PM2 is too easy to get while it's clipped to my pocket.
20 mins in and I know this is my new favorite Nutnfancy vid. Awesome stuff. I'm just bummed the Al Mar Nomad jumped up so high in price. $200 for 3" vg-10? ouch. shame cuz its beautiful
I have the SOG Flashback. After I sent the first one back because it was so stiff to open it put a hole in my thumb. Didn't love it at first but it's grown on me. I usually go between it and the Kershaw Knockout, which is my favorite for EDC.
I think this is the coolest knife vid ever but probably because you hit on so many knives I like and you have props to my edc knive the flashback (which I think looks cool because it's different) and other edc knives that I want to add to my collection.
How is the blade play on your flashback? I have barely used mine and it has major movement. Also the lock and detent are a bit much for such a small folder.
Hey Nutn, I love all of your knife videos. This one is no exception. Just need to nit pick one thing. The cold steel Espada was a large not the extra large. I carry a Leatherman surge, a cold steel AK-47 (new model) at least one sometimes two cold steel Rajah 2 or a cold steel Spartan. And a code 4 tanto style in my slacks.
Since I first started working when I was 14, I remember almost always carrying a Leatherman multi tool (PST to Supertool to now a Surge) and sometimes an additional knife as well. (Not really needed for me since Leatherman usually has 2 blades on it.) I spent a lot of time with my friends working on cars and atvs, and sometimes I got the feeling they never carried one because they new I always had pliers or a knife. Of course I always caught a ration of crap if I didn't have one, you know, because friends. On the plus side, at 12.5 oz plus leather sheath, it wasn't that hard to jump up to a compact 9mm once I graduated and got to the real world. I carry a PF9 (as per +nutnfancy review) which is only 12.7 oz unloaded. add 2.8 oz for a loaded mag and a little more for a holster (inside waist band) and I have a very secure (as far as not falling out or printing and such) pistol on my person. I love nutnfancy's videos, but since I only have been following for about 4 years, there is no way I will be able to watch all of his over 1600 videos that he has uploaded. shoot, I cant even keep up with his current ones sometimes.
I recently was going to buy either a CS kukri or a trailmaster, but settled for a couple of Moras. The Pro Robust and the HQ Robust. The HQ Robust is seriously the *best* knife for the money I have ever bought. I find that the steel properties and performance are almost identical to 1095. I probably never would've given them a second look if I didn't see your old review Nutn, so thanks!
There is kind of a huge difference in application between a large chopper like the Trailmaster or Kukri and a Bushcrafting knife like a Mora. Not saying either is particularly better, just noting it is a complete difference in out door/wilderness styles.
I'm aware. I realized that what I would be doing with the larger blades would be very limited, so I got something smaller, cheaper, and more versatile. A hatchet would pair nicely with them.
Yeah it all comes down to your personal preference and system. I personally feel larger blades are more versatile, but I do mostly trail blazing and little bushcrafting. I tend to carry a large chopper along with a neck knife, and either a Machete or blazing ax depending on the under growth in the area.
Long live the TNP Knife Nation. Love the blade vids! That's what got me interested in TNP.
Let's get weird. Never seen before in TNP are SOME of my fave knife combos. We will revisit many HOF tactical and EDC blades in these parings. Many gift ideas will result as well. Grab the popcorn as we get into a feature length TNP Knife Nation exclusive!
Love the knife videos keep up the awesome videos. You've been one of my biggest sources of inspiration.
Why some of them have a hole in the blade? is just design?
Hell yea knife videos !!!!!!! Thanks
+John M Oh thanks man! :)
+nutnfancy Before you mentioned the Cold Steel Espada i actually called it out in my head. Laughed like hell when you said it, somehow i wasn't surprised. Great video man!
Nutnfancy video. Time to drink some coffee and start cleaning a couple pistols for the next hour while I watch.
Code 4 means "no further assistance needed", so it's funny for that one to be paired at all. =)
EXCELLENT video. Loved everything about it. Old school Nutnfancy video!
This video is fantastic. Always excited to watch the TNP Knife Show.
This has got to be one of the top 10 videos from TNP. Loved it!!!
Thanks for that shout out Nutn! I was the one at Costco with the 904-1!!! I also had the Cadet and Classic Victorinox limited edition blue colorations.
What an awesome best-of collection! Liked almost all of 'em and enjoyed the reminders of the prior reviews you did. Nice job!
I could watch this kind of stuff for days! Fantastic video Nuttn.
i find the zipties so unnecessary for the spydercos, the thumb holes are perfectly fine imo, and they just make the knives look bad
+aes0p I find by far the best way to open my Spydies is the middle finger flick from underneath, works on all the models I have (15 and counting...).
Just picked up the Ontario RAT 1 Black last night. Great knife and very sharp out of the box. Thanks Nutnfancy. The Owl is on the shed and he is pleased with his knife choice.
My favorite is the Kershaw Skyline and I rotate the scallion with it.
I was fiddling with my spyderco endura 4 when the vid first started and he mentioned the spyderco endura 4 1st! Made me so happy lol
Love my Emerson CQC-8. Thanks Nutn for introducing me to Emerson knives and the HEC concept.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you chose one of my favorite knives in this review! I base 90% of my weapon or EDC purchases off of your channel. I'm trying to turn my dad into a TNPer as well :)
I carry either an endura in hap 40, a para in s110, or a 943 in s90 with a spyderco dragonfly and those do me good
I've been waiting for this for a looooooooong time! I might just take a half day off work today.
Thanks for getting me hooked, you drug dealer!
That Cold Steel Espada XL..... Gorgeous blade! Not sure how practical it is but the mere awe of her curves, fit and finish are astounding. This would go great alongside a blingy pistol just for mere appearances alone. Very nice!
That was fun! I was drooling almost the whole time. :) Great knives. I appreciate your passion.

Those spydercos have everything I want out of a knife...so nice dude great collection, great vid it rocks.
Cool to revisit some of these knives that i forgot. Literally bought one of em the second you pulled it out.
I loved all the knives presented and the enthusiasm for knives in general. I too am a knife dork. I hate looking at knife reviews or ads as I am frequently tempted.
Yes! I could watch a video like this everyday!!!
How cool, the Endura and Delica are some of my favorites too, and I have them in various colors. But today I have a Cara Cara 2 in my pocket. Awesome knife for $18!
THANK YOU Nutnfancy - love the knife reviews!!!!
I almost had to apply for a loan after watching this video. Very good set of examples IMO. I did have to do some research on the Boker Exskelimoor and it was eventually added to my cart. I think it will serve a good purpose. Thanks for the idea
Thanks! Gave me some great ideas for Christmas gifts.
Your Halo 5 Holy Grail OTF was one of the first vids of yours I watched...been a great couple of years! Have a great Thanksgiving TNP crew!
Have a few knives myself. Endura and delica combo is hard to beat. Don't let their simple looks fool you. You have to handle them for a while to appreciate their value.
Best edc knife vid you have done to date!
Cheers.

Thanks so much. Enjoyed this video immensely! Happy Thanksgiving Nutnfancy Family!
Love the knife show. Please keep up the GREAT work.
I bought the endura 4 in blue because of this video. Super light and super sharp!
Such a perfect video... no other words needed.

Thumbs up for part 2!!!
Swiss army makes some of the best folding knives. You can get a multi blade folding knife with other utility options in a Swiss Army knife. You can get one for $20 or less at Walmart and it will last for years. I have a boyscout one from 1990 and it still holds an edge.
Start with a bang! My EDC is a bright orange FFG lightweight VG10 Endura 4.
Just getting more into this kinda stuff, so this is perfect timing!
Honestly one of my favorite videos from you!
ever since nutnfancy reviewed the endura knife I've carried on for years. it just works
Great Christmas ideas. thanks for the video. You da man.
Carry an Endura every day and use it every day here at the ranch a great knife!
+MrHolster Would you say it's to big for edc anywhere? I'm looking for a new edc and don't know if I should go for the endura or the delica.
I see no reason to think it is too big. I would find anything smaller a lot less useful for my use.
ToKeepTrackOfRandomSubs
Yea I'm stuck on being unsure if the endura will be too big or the delica smaller than I thought
Tough choice, but something that might help you depending on what you plan to use the knife for is to just think carefully about what knives you use for each purpose right now.

The laugh during the Espada Cold Steel was hilarious lol
Man I love Spyderco. I have some nice Emersons man it's really hard to beat a Spyderco for EDC. I carried a delica for years and it served me very well. wow, pretty cool video. I found you from your FJR videos. I ride an 09. I see you are really in to knives. I have a fondness for them too, but after watching this, I know NOTHING about knives. Very educational. I am going to get one of these.
I enjoyed this video. You never disappoint. Happy Thanksgiving.
Great video. I much prefer the Victorinox Compact over the Cadet, 2 layers thick with tweezers, pen, nail file, toothpick AND SCISSORS!
I just picked up a Spyderco Tenacious... black on black. Love it. Can't believe Kershaw Leek didn't make the list.
So stoked to see a new edc video love this shit!!!! Great video nutn

Anyone else think that the british racing green endura would be outstanding looking with a black blade and hardware? (just like it looked on the camera with the lighting at the beginning of the vid)
I would buy that in a heartbeat.
loved the vid Nutn! was kind of suprised that I didn't see the Benchmade 940 or the Cold Steel Mini AK-47 on the list though, they are also HOF knives if I recall. Thanks for the video! Keep up the great work Nutn!
That little cold steal lock back is awesome I Wish CS would bring it back too
Hey nutnfancy im 17 and a knife collector and I have always enjoyed piranha knives but could never afford one I could never afford a hec knife because my dad is disabled and the job i worked was to help him so you give reviews to show me the awesome knives out there including the infamous piranha knives and give me a feel of what my future can hold to where i can afford those knives but so i comment to thank you for spending the hard working money into all these beautiful blades so thanks nutnfancy and thanks TNP
You didn't start me enjoying knives, but man, you sure keep those fires stoked.
What a beautiful table. The credit card can't handle it. Thanks Nutn
Getting ready to watch....I'm worried, I thought I already had a complete christmas list for myself....
20 mins in and I know this is my new favorite Nutnfancy vid. Awesome stuff. I'm just bummed the Al Mar Nomad jumped up so high in price. $200 for 3" vg-10? ouch. shame cuz its beautiful
Love God Love your channel. That's a knife collection! !
haha. when you pulled out one of those kershaws I was like. he is going to pull out the skyline, and two seconds later you did!!
I have the SOG Flashback. After I sent the first one back because it was so stiff to open it put a hole in my thumb. Didn't love it at first but it's grown on me. I usually go between it and the Kershaw Knockout, which is my favorite for EDC.
I love these long knives videos! :)
Love feature lengh vids!!! I'l be back with popcorn :-)
Just got the "exclusive" olive green Cadet from Cutlery Shoppe. The color is awesome, it really looks great. I can't stop fondling it...
I think this is the coolest knife vid ever but probably because you hit on so many knives I like and you have props to my edc knive the flashback (which I think looks cool because it's different) and other edc knives that I want to add to my collection.
I'm also kinda sad that I didn't see the manix 2 mainly because I think it's so cool. also I think your pairings are pretty awesome
How is the blade play on your flashback? I have barely used mine and it has major movement. Also the lock and detent are a bit much for such a small folder.
I have pretty little play in the blade
Thanks Nut'N... Another great review! Where can we buy TNP patches?James
Paramilitary2 and Dragonfly my combination for Edc had it for 2 months working out great.
Leatherman Crater with blade launcher and a couple of included tools is light, not expensive, and a useful size.
Cool vid! Nice to have some knife vids again!
Great video idea Nutn! You signed my wife's Dragonfly "caribou skinner", she has yet to make it happen..
Spyderco PM2 is so beautiful! I want more of them.
two knife videos in one day? WOAH!!!!
Already have two Para2's, now there's a third orange one on the way... Thanks
