We did ! :) I want to ask you, can you recommend some typography books for totally beginners? Which includes some practical assignment or something like that. Thanks !
Thank you! Really enjoyed your tutorial. I’m so glad I got a new iPad, pencil and Procreate. The Procreate world is a lovely place to be, filled with fantastic demonstrations from people like yourself 😀
Can’t wait to get my iPad Pro! I’m currently practicing on an iPad Mini 2 with an Adonit stylus, it definetly doesn’t feel the same but hey, we all got to start somewhere (: Thanks for this short tutorial on Procreate, always good to try new things ! Nice video as always, thank you !
Hey Will, could you make a video explaining Procreate vs Affinity Designer? Is one better? If you already have one, do you need the other for anything? Or are they basically the same just different brands?
Amaracea Procreate is pixel based. Affinity designer is vector and pixel based. For the price I have both and use both. One is not better than the other, it depends on what you are using them for. I paint in Procreate and use Affinity designer (like Illustrator) for vectors, it has the pen tool etc. You can watch videos of what designer can do on the sarif website, just google Affinity designer. Or you can go to RUclips a channel called Affinity Revolution has good tutorials.
Hi, I just got the Ipad pro and I’m looking into buying a screen protector but all the reviews I read say that it messes up the sensitivity of the pencil. What screen protector do you have?
Great video, as always. Question from a graphic design student, who draws in his spare time: Should I try to spare up some money for an iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil? If so, what should I watch out for, and if not, do you think that a regular iPad and a first generation pencil would work to start off? Thanks in advance!
Im not a graphic designer, but coming form a tech persons point of view, the difference between the Apple pencil 1 and 2 are minor. The 2nd Gen has touch sensors in it so you can switch between tools easier. It's stored, paired and charges with the iPad wirelessly by magnetically connecting to the side of the iPad, BUT it only supports the newest iPad pros and is $/€/£30 more expensive than the 1st Gen. The 1st Gen Apple Pencil is the same just without the touch sensors. It pairs and charges by plugging it into the iPads lightning connector or into the wall with an adapter you can buy from Apple and it's €£$30-35 cheaper than the 2nd Gen. In terms of the iPad, any iPad Pro from the 1st gen to the 3rd gen will be just fine, if you can afford it get the newest Pro, if not, get the 2nd generation iPad Pro (to be a bit more future proof). I would list the differences of the iPads but there are too many variables to list out and this comment is already and essay.
Great video! I always learn so much from you, Ian and Stefan- with all your different styles there is always one that works! And Skillshare is definitely worth the time to check- it’s amazing! Thanks Will👍
Wouldn't it make more sense to do the fill inking with a completely different colour? That way you would know when you filled too little or want over the lines, you can always change it back to black afterwards.
Hope you guys enjoy the video!

Thanks for another great video. Question: how did you set the pencil to be able to erase with just a tap? TIA
Sheila Lewis-Lorum do you mean undo what you just did because that’s tapping with two fingers
Only the apple pencil 2 does that.
Thanks for making it look simple and something I could do.
Are you using screen protectors??
Great work as always, bro!
