I love how brine shrimp can give live birth despite their eggs having that unique ability to survive for long periods of time in stasis. The two seem contradictory.
Sorry to bother you again but, I'm a bit worried. I just noticed some sort of substance growing in my tank its thick clear white and jelly like and when I tried disturbing it more came lose from else where in the tank , which has a bit of a green tinge. I only just started my tank 4 days ago, so i'm assuming this isn't algae, but probably mold of some sort . =( could this be algae ? should I feed them if it seems something is suspended in their water. Sorry to bother you again, but I just got so depressed seeing that, I knew mold was a problem but I never thought it would happen that quickly. Thanks for all your time spent responding ! UGGGH! i'm officially depressed!
Is it ok if i put it on my terrace? My dog would always push anything on the windowsill, if not, what other alternatives can I use for natural sunlight?
Mine are weird they don't grow and there's only 5-6 moving on the second day. Rest is so dad 😢 I had the same problem when I was a child. I was never able to make them grow
first bump in the road. i’m less than 3 days all my sea monkeys disappeared except for 1 it’s honestly annoying because i’m pretty sure that the second generation was just born. i’m gonna remove the survivor and some of the eggs to hopefully let them thrive wish me luck
My sea monkeys have been getting bigger everyday and it is so amazing I absolutely love these little guys. Some seem to have started to get little legs on the side Edit- I do have a question. I know they are tiny and fragile but can the air bubble stream hurt them I don’t have an airstone yet so its just the tube. And my other tank I don’t have any more tube so is using a pipette for bubbles can the current harm them ? Sorry Im bad at sentences
Hi ! I have a little question . My sea monkeys are new born and I’m going to be out of my house for a week and were I’m going to is 2 hours away *car trip* , and there is going to be a height change, I just wanted to know if that could do something to my sea monkeys … or could they survive if a give them food before going and come back from my trip without anyone to aerate their tank or giving them more food? Thanks for your time.
A change in altitude won't affect your Sea-Monkeys unless the new location is significantly colder. I'd suggest you just leave them where they are though - feed them some growth food just before you leave and I'm sure they'll still be fine for a week while you're gone. I once left mine for 4 months and there were still some alive when I got back 😅
Is someone able to answer me: I've just purchased a Sea-Monkey tank. After 24 hours of have dissolved the second bag, I don't see anything. Additionally, all eggs didn't float on the water (they went directly on the bottom) and the second bag was humid and the internal was slightly green and liquid (now, I have purchased a Magiaquarium). Do you think the product was expired?
Hi John , can u please answer this question, do adult sea monkeys eat babies, I’ve been feeding them every other day as all amount, half a tiny scoop, is this ok to do? Seems I don’t have lots of grown babies??
So I noticed you fed them on day 3 not 5 which the sea monkey packet says. I usually have a bunch die by day 5, is it possible they starve to death and waiting 5 days is just to long? Do you think it’s okay to ass phytoplankton in the beginning as well?
Hi, I am absolutely obsessed with my sea monkeys and have obsessively gotten 3 tanks. I live in Australia so it’s perfect temperature for them this time of year (March, autumn days are average 27C I seem to only have 1-3 hatch than they disappear the next day and i get no more activity. Been trying 3 months now. I feel I am doing everything right aside from the constant aeration device because I cannot seem to find one (x3 🤦🏻♀️) in my price range, but I am using the pump that came with it 5-6 gentle as possible pumps day and night as well as keeping them by a non direct sunlight window. Any advice anybody?
I'm trying to find out what salt is in the packet.. It just says for ingredients: "assorted mixed salts" and I'm not coming up with any answers as to what salt to use if I want to put them in a bigger tank like a 1 gallon.. I know the measurements.. I just don't know what salt to use..
The bubbler should be on 24/7. Does your heater have a thermostat? I leave me heater on 24/7 but it has a built in thermostat that makes it switch off once it reaches 26°C
@@pico-cosmos I am really wanting sea monkey so I am researching a lot about them! I’m thinking about getting the usb heater and the mini bubbler just so I can be safe! :)
Mine hatched on day 4. There were lots of them! I added the food as was recommended, with the small spoon provided, and within 24 hours they died. At least, I can't see any anymore. Any advice?
@@pico-cosmos thank you so much. I am learning so much from you. My 1st attempt to raise them on my desk at work started out well. Thriving community- even some coupling happened- THEN work turned on the ac for the summer. Got heater and ordered new eggs so will give it another go. 🤞
I'm not sure if you will see this but I've gotten my first little sea monkey tank and I wanna make sure they have the best environment for living, I've got a ring light to hopefully try give the tank a little bit of warmth. Is that okay?
It gets really cold over night and in the day I don’t know how to keep my sea monkey tanks warm over the winter without buying anything and idk if the eggs will hatch
There are a few options - most people feed them dried algae powders such as spirulina, but I personally grow live microaglae to feed them. I made a tutorial that explains it here: ruclips.net/video/gTRl8cu7jlc/видео.html
@@pico-cosmos Thank you I'll check it out..i bought the mars one for my grandson and one for me to try.. last time i had one i was only a kid myself.. thanks again
Hi Artemia daddy, I have some bad news today, a lot of my sea monkeys are dying , I followed all the instructions on this vid, its day 42 I still feed them as you said and they are still not fully grown, they had the black spot disease, today my largest male sea monkey died , I already used the turtle block but I think is not working and i dont know what to do maybe move them to another tank? (I have available another official sea monkey tank magic castle) i really need advise … thank you.
Hmm I’m sorry to hear that. it sounds like you may have put a little too much of the turtle block into your tank :/ if your Sea-Monkeys aren’t full size after 42 days it’s likely that your tank is too cold. Are you sure it’s above 20°C? I’m not sure if moving them into another tank will help as the water likely has too many minerals in it from the turtle block
Oh so I could take put some of the water and dilute it with pure water? And another question… do I have to take out the poop? Its because i think it sinks and mixes with food and they eat it….
@@SunflowerGirl012 I wouldn't dilute the water because it's important not to change the salinity too significantly. You can remove the poop if you want to but it doesn't really matter. I usually just leave it in there
Definitely this Ocean Volcano tank. From a practicality perspective I think it’s the best tank they’ve ever made. Other tanks like the Magic Castle or Mars themed ones are more interesting visually, but I think the Ocean Volcano does the best job at letting you keep the tank healthy
@@ericaking It's just a very well designed tank. The volcano at the bottom is a good substrate for algae to grow on, and it's very easy to put a small heater and airline into this tank too. If your sea-monkeys only lasted 1 month in the Mars tank it's likely due to your water parameters being off. Perhaps it was too cold, or you overfed them?

You could try eBay if Amazon doesn't work? I'll definitely be trying both Triops and Killifish in the future :D
Thx nan and keep up withe the good work
@@withlollie9496 I am also from South Africa and I know my local pet store has sea monkey kits
Check out my “10 essential Sea-Monkey tips for beginners” video 👍
I've got the Mars set
first bump in the road. i’m less than 3 days all my sea monkeys disappeared except for 1 it’s honestly annoying because i’m pretty sure that the second generation was just born. i’m gonna remove the survivor and some of the eggs to hopefully let them thrive wish me luck
My sea monkeys have been getting bigger everyday and it is so amazing I absolutely love these little guys. Some seem to have started to get little legs on the side
Edit- I do have a question. I know they are tiny and fragile but can the air bubble stream hurt them I don’t have an airstone yet so its just the tube. And my other tank I don’t have any more tube so is using a pipette for bubbles can the current harm them ? Sorry Im bad at sentences
It’s so cute that’s mum gives birth
I was so stoked to finally catch this on camera! This female is looking super pregnant again now so I might get another birthing video from her
Hi, I recently got sea monkeys and put them in the tank given. I want to move them into a bigger tank but don't know if I can. Can I?
2:45 bro is just tryna get his brothers and sisters out
Actually the eggs are in packet one! The eggs are dehydrated and require those 24 hours to rehydrate!
Can you do the same video over again but with the aqua dragons
Definitely! That’s a great idea
The aqua leash what are they called officially? Can I just order those in a pack or something?
this really helps me know how large mine should be and at how manys days until they mate
I once left mine for 4 months and there were still some alive when I got back 😅
Thank you so much for the information!
Can I use a light bulb above it keep in dark room? Like for 8 hours day
Yup! Tho 16 hrs a day would be better
@@pico-cosmos So, I’m doing 8 hours per day but a lot of them died and the water is cloudy!
Is someone able to answer me:
I've just purchased a Sea-Monkey tank.
I'm thinking I should feed them Astaxanthin Powder so they can grow up, mine are at day 8 and still napluai.
I finally got sea monkeys! Can they live without a bubbler and heating pad if I have them in a warm room and aerate it daily?
Hi John , can u please answer this question, do adult sea monkeys eat babies, I’ve been feeding them every other day as all amount, half a tiny scoop, is this ok to do? Seems I don’t have lots of grown babies??
subbed liked
Aren’t you supposed to let the water purifier (packet 1) work for 24 hours before adding the eggs (packet 2)??
So I noticed you fed them on day 3 not 5 which the sea monkey packet says. I usually have a bunch die by day 5, is it possible they starve to death and waiting 5 days is just to long? Do you think it’s okay to ass phytoplankton in the beginning as well?

Hi, I am absolutely obsessed with my sea monkeys and have obsessively gotten 3 tanks. I live in Australia so it’s perfect temperature for them this time of year (March, autumn days are average 27C
I seem to only have 1-3 hatch than they disappear the next day and i get no more activity.
Can the tank be overcrowded?
What happens if you finish sea monkey food packet number 3
You can either buy more or feed them spirulina or astaxanthin powder
I'm trying to find out what salt is in the packet.. It just says for ingredients: "assorted mixed salts" and I'm not coming up with any answers as to what salt to use if I want to put them in a bigger tank like a 1 gallon.. I know the measurements.. I just don't know what salt to use..
I have a brine shrimp culturing guide on my website which covers this 👍
do sea monkeys need to in sunlight and on a heat mat or is that just optional
Their ideal tank temperature is a stable 26°C/79°F - it doesn’t matter how this temperature is achieved
@@pico-cosmos Thanks
Should I be leaving the heater on 24-7 and the bubbler?
The bubbler should be on 24/7. Does your heater have a thermostat? I leave me heater on 24/7 but it has a built in thermostat that makes it switch off once it reaches 26°C
@@pico-cosmos I am really wanting sea monkey so I am researching a lot about them! I’m thinking about getting the usb heater and the mini bubbler just so I can be safe! :)
Yeah it’s definitely a good idea :) those are the 2 most important accessories 👍
@@pico-cosmos Thank you so much! :) I will definitely remember that!
The bubbler starts at day 3 though?
Mine hatched on day 4. There were lots of them! I added the food as was recommended, with the small spoon provided, and within 24 hours they died. At least, I can't see any anymore. Any advice?
Check out my video titled “how to keep your sea-monkeys alive” 👍
Do you ever have to add more salt to the water? If so when n how
No you don’t. The salt doesn’t evaporate :)
@@pico-cosmos thank you so much. I am learning so much from you. My 1st attempt to raise them on my desk at work started out well. Thriving community- even some coupling happened- THEN work turned on the ac for the summer. Got heater and ordered new eggs so will give it another go. 🤞
@@tammyturner6321 the heater should help a lot 👌 hope it goes well :)
I'm not sure if you will see this but I've gotten my first little sea monkey tank and I wanna make sure they have the best environment for living, I've got a ring light to hopefully try give the tank a little bit of warmth. Is that okay?
Artificial lights dont generate warmth lol only sunlight does
Wait, you put the eggs in before 24 hours?
Yeah it doesn't make a difference
Where is the bubbler from
Never mind I'm getting the same one from you Amazon link 😂😂
Well baby sea monkeys
It gets really cold over night and in the day I don’t know how to keep my sea monkey tanks warm over the winter without buying anything and idk if the eggs will hatch
Did they hatch?
@@Veneto_Mapping yes but I still don’t have a permanent solution to keeping them warm I just wrap them in towels 😬
Just got a kit today!
Nice! Which tank did you get?
@@pico-cosmos I’ve got that basic rectangular 10 Oz tank

@@pico-cosmos thank you, and will do!
This is the third month since I had sea monkeys
Where can you get the aqua leash
Can i keep sea monkey with sea macro algae??
Do I need to aerate them?
which water do you use?
Distilled water 👍 bottled spring water is fine too
what do you feed them if you can get them to live for awhile?
that being you run out of the packet of food they give you.

I usually just leave it in there
@@pico-cosmos yep , thank you so much !! I increased the temperature today and they are swimming faster and more energetic :)
@@SunflowerGirl012 That's great to hear :D
What if the growth food runs out when we need it?
I thought after 5 (or 7) days to feed sea monkeys? Also, only 4 of my hatch in the first 4 days.
what do you think is the best sea monkey kit on the market for under 50 dollars
Definitely this Ocean Volcano tank. From a practicality perspective I think it’s the best tank they’ve ever made. Other tanks like the Magic Castle or Mars themed ones are more interesting visually, but I think the Ocean Volcano does the best job at letting you keep the tank healthy
Can you explain why the ocean volcano tank is the best at keeping sea monkeys healthy? I had a Mars tank and they died in a month 😓
Mine grea for a week and disappeared was gonna throw it out snd saw more babies for a few days now there gone?!?!
