    I heard that kids experience massive disappointment with Sea-Monkeys, but luckily that wasn’t the case with me.
    I was a newly immigrated child from Japan when I fist saw them in store, and didn’t understand what the product promised to do on the package. My dad saw me staring at it, and, being a scientist, he excitedly described the fascinating life cycle of brine shrimps and their extraordinary survival method. I got starry eyed at the seemingly miraculous animals! My dad gladly purchased the Sea-Monkey kit and we raised them together.
    What I witnessed was exactly what my dad described, and I loved the tiny but amazing pets I now had. I didn’t expect instant life nor anthropomorphic creatures to live in castles 😅
    Now that the product has had solid success, they should advertise these neat guys accurately as they are; fascinating, amazingly resilient animals 😊
    (The tank was unfortunately tipped over accidentally by my sister who yelled at me for the Sea-Monkey tank water staining her diary while I cried for the massive loss of life. What chaos!
    Now that I’m an adult and much more careful, I want to keep them again. Thanks for your videos!)

Running 2 aerators, at lower aeration, and a USB heater. I've also done some research, as I started with the Sea Monkey tanks before I decided I wanted something bigger, and from what I've seen the Sea Monkey brand eggs have no scientific research that concludes they aren't anything beyond normal brine shrimp. Their claims of longer life and bigger size have been disproven in a few studies I've seen

    I have a sad update on my nephew's Sea-Monkeys and a request for help from the Sea-Monkey community (that sounds weird) - there is some kind of disease that turns parts of their body white. Maybe a section of an arm, maybe part of the egg sac, maybe the tail, but they continue to behave and swim normally for a week or two. The white sections eventually turn black and the swimming slows and becomes less coordinated. If the tail is black it might fall off before the shrimp dies. I never saw this with the several Sea-Monkey sets I went through as a kid, they just looked normal until they disappeared (and what happens to their molts and dead bodies anyway? They don't leave a trace!). Has anyone seen this or heard of it? I've heard of diseases like this in prawns and other large shrimp but searching in context of brine shrimp didn't yield anything I found very helpful.

      It sounds like it could be “black spot disease” - nobody in the community seems to really know exactly what this is, but in all likelihood it is probably due to a mineral deficiency. Apparently the best solution is to slowly increase the tank’s salinity. “Aquarium Systems Instant Ocean” is a great salt to use 👍

    I put this on your other video! Hi there. Great advice video thank you. I've gone crazy and have 3 tanks. My only problem is "how to remove the white scum from the top surface". I've read, lay a sheet of kitchen towel, on the top/surface and all the scum will disappear. Do you think this is advisable? I thought kitchen towel was "bleached paper", not a good idea to use in the tank, I would think. Do you have any other advice please. Also, does my tank have scum because I'm over feeding? Please help!

      @pico-cosmos  7 месяцев назад +1

      I have noticed some of that white stuff in the past, though I’m not sure what it is. You could try to do the paper towel method, though I’d advise using unbleached paper. You could also use a pipette to suck some of it out instead. In my experience the white stuff doesn’t appear to cause any issues though

      I'm finding Amazon shipping and handling on anything shipped here super crazy. Is like 10x the price of the usb heater or mini air pump, so haven't been able to source one yet. I've just had like 30 babies come from one of my females too, I'm worried about losing them over winter. I'm just using a wheat pack and towel wrapping to keep them going until I find an affordable option

      @@NickMate Ah I'd definitely recommend getting the small USB heater, they help so much! And they use hardly any power

    why do people keep making videos of the same thing that has been posted thousands of times? greed that strong? making thumbnails to attract kids for money is sick and should not be the norm. you are a grown ass man.
