This song is so underrated, but it's one of my favorite Troy songs.
One of my favorite Nightwish songs. Floor's smile throughout the song is $@%!*# unreal
Walden ( or Life in the Woods) is a book by Henry David Thoreau about his two years living a simple life immersed in nature. I'm assuming this is Tuomas' inspiration.
I've heard this song quite a few times, (Tampere/Wembley) but once again it surprised me. It's always better than I thought, remembered!

This is like an uplifting Celtic folk song. I like it (but i like almost all Nightwish songs). The flute kind of thing Troy plays is a tin whistle, i guess. He has couple of them (different sizes) in a bag near to him.
Low Whistle and High Whistle, related to the tin whistle, they're Irish variants.
Troy is the Wizard in Nightwish! I have called My Walden Troys song since it dropped,eventhough both Floor and Marco joins him on vocals,and Floor overtakes the lead vocals after that. He defintly does most of the work on this song,as well as sing on top of it. I allways suggest My Walden at Wembley though,since it allready starts off with the Nightwish Army making Troy burst out laughing. And it just overall sounds better,looks better as a production. Dont get me wrong,many are proud of the Tampere concert(and they should be)But im abit of a sound geek,when performances by them drop i look and listen to every little detail about it,i used to be a radio technician amongst other things....probably where i picked that up from. And most importantly,Troy is British,he is coming home with Nightwish,and he gets a childhood dream come through (i wont spoil what it is,i will let you watch it on your own,to get that full experience) Its just the perfect My Walden performance to appreciate Troy on. Nothing against Tampere,but the Wembley version just looks and sounds better to me. There is alot more smiles and chemistry there too. Again,not saying there isnt chemistry in Tampere,the producer in Wembley just picks up on alot more happening. Troy shows alot more of himself in that performance. I guess he might feel more at home then in Tampere,eventhough he enjoyed playing there too. He is just back with "his own people".
Hey thanks for your comment! I did want to ask since you said you were a radio technician, is there anything wrong with my audio? It's so hard for me to tell since I only have the first reaction clip that I listen to. I still have people complaining that my audio isn't good enough
Edit: the song audio I mean. I know my voice audio sucks lol
@@MusicLifePlus To give you as good of an answer as i could do,i flipped my headphones on and re-watched the video just now. I tried without them as well. With the headphones on,i couldnt catch anything really worth mentioning. The only thing that could be,if i went into a super picky mode,is maybe a tiny bit of a distortion sound happening a few places. It can just as well be on the uploaders side to be honest,but the quality sounds overall good. I couldnt hear anything without headphones on either. You are very welcome btw!😄🤘I have heard much worse mic sounds on RUclips too,just saying lol. The distortion sound i thought i heard,i went back to the parts just now. I think all the instruments together might have fooled me. If anything,i pulled up the official live,and it might come off a tiny bit louder/clearer if im being super picky. But then again,i know having a mic sound connected as well,puts the original song abit lower. Its barely noticeable though,unless you are a complete sound geek,and has a mission to pick on the tiniest of details lol. I think your sound comes out good,taking everything into consideration. This answer got abit longer then i planned,but i wrote it as i choosed to double check,and then compare to the original upload. It is barely any difference,if none at all at times. Thank you so much! I actually cut my own audio at most parts through the song so there isn't any ambient sounds getting in and I record my voice audio separately from the music audio. 99% of people don't complain so I'm not sure what's going on with the rest. Thanks again!

Empu was a lot of fun to watch live. I was lucky enough to get a spot against the front barricade at the Denver show in the Decades tour. Empu interacts with the crowd a lot and can be a bit cheeky at times (in a good way). That wasn’t something I had anticipated, but it made the show even more fun to watch. They all look like they genuinely enjoy playing music together.
Maybe some people prefer the heaviest side of Nightwish and thus they don't like Troy as much, but most fans have embraced him as an important addition to the band.
Personally I enjoy his keltic instruments very much, songs like this one are really fun specially live

EDIT: YES, Troy is Very underrated. The insane capabilities he has on SO MANY different instruments SHOULD be Legendary!! He also starts off

Troy starts off the 2018 Sao Pablo show onstage alone doing an instrumental of Swanheart... HOLY HELL! How many bands would dare start an epic show like that? Epic...no, THAT was legendary!
