Your analysis of that stanza is spot on... you should watch the official music video for the studio recording of this back when Annette was the lead singer. It's actually a pretty dark song about someone alone, isolated, and... well... done with it all.
And as the joke goes, Nightwish doesn't sit around a campfire, the campfire sits around Nightwish.

Floor's delight in Marko's performance is evident. She is happy at the crowd's reaction. You are the FIRST reactor I've seen who reacted to Marko's playful growl.
This is a masterclass in how to handle 20 000+ people by yourself.
Marko played this song of his in a back room, and he thought it would not be a song for his own band. Later Tuomas remembered the song and thought it could be a Nightwish song. Tuomas wrote new lyrics and a Nightwish song it became.
Marko's solo project song "Marko Hietala - Isäni ääni" is another fine example of his vocal skills. He really has a beautiful and powerful voice. There is also a video of the song sung in English, but forget about it. The Finnish language one is THE one!
Many foreigners love it in despite of it's in Finnish - or because of it!

It seems that your 3rd tier supporters have good taste in music. Nightwish is blessed with three vocalists, Floor is out of this world, Marco is amazing & Troy's voice is so soothing & unique.
P.S. When there were no English subs, Marco asked the crowd should he play the chorus & would they also sing it, he then continued with the song as the crowd answered yes.

I actually like seeing the literal translation, but that's because I'm weird and love languages so much that I attempted to make my own. About 40 times.

6:56 After Marco smack talking them all in the beginning,this right here just gets to me each time. Floor flat out laughing of joy,charming as ever before. She spoke up early about just tiny things, like them having silly,fun times together,being able to laugh at eachother as well as one self,helped her alot in adjusting as a new vocalist in the band,with all the pressure in the world on her. Not trying to disrespect on any other vocalists that has been with Nightwish,but you didnt see this type of chemistry before. I have probably mentioned this a trillion times allready,but somehow its worth mentioning again. With people being brand new to NW coming in for example. A good band with 10% chemistry will allways play worse and sound worse,compared to a amazing band with great chemistry! (Thank you Floor & Troy!) Very clear good sound on this one too btw,so i dont think you have to worry there. A few people are simply never satisfied lol. Good to see Nightwish making you laugh and smile alot again. They work wonders on people,i speak from personal experience too.😍💞

Marko has a very good female backing singer. Maybe she could sing the lead sometimes? Just kiddin', great job from all of them.
While Your Lips are Still Red is a gorgeous song they did for a movie that Marco leads. You should check it out.

In the not translated part Marko asks the audience to help him in the chorus.
A kindly Finn translated as; "If I play the chorus, you will sing along? You will? OK, then we'll do it!"
You say it felt like a sea shanty, you should give the Official music video a watch. It is from the Anette Era, and is the First official sight of Troy (on the Flute here) maybe do a reaction to it as well, since it has a slightly different sound? Cheers. ^.-.^
