EBC HH pads have made a dramatic improvement to the braking and braking feel of every bike I have put them on. Combine that with braided lines, and the result will be stunning.
Great video. I've had mine almost a year now, never had the squeal but about to change to EBC anyway due to normal wear. I have the same colour and same year, fitted the same levers and also have a German Shepherd🤣
Excellent video as always. Just one quick comment, it’s my understanding that it’s the copper grease that stops the squealing, so kind of key to the video. Having said that I’m no expert 😁
used it before I did this video, I took the oem pads out and cleaned everything good and proper, put them back having greased the back of the oem pads, but the noise came back. Hoping the new pads will do the trick, I wasn't going to grease them but thought I will. so far all quiet and no pulsing from the front brake. thrashed the bike in France yesterday and the brakes were great. video etc to follow.
I installed these pads dry on my 2020 Speed Twin and it’s still squealing. I will admit I wasn’t quite so meticulous cleaning the discs or bedding them in but the pads alone won’t solve the issue. Next step is to apply some copper grease to the backs of the pads. Also they’ve only been in a few days so maybe they will improve with some use 🤷🏻♂️
@@gsd32i thanks a lot for your reply! I've had this issue with brake pulsation when coming to a stop since I got the bike and despite my local dealer's efforts (change of rotors+pads, measuring wheel alignment and tolerances, change of wheel bolts), we were not able to totally get rid of it. the last resort was to move away from stock pads and I am more inclined to do it now, following your feedback. cheers!
@@botic5590 I think the issue possibly is that when the discs were new they weren't bedded in properly causing brake pad deposits to form peaks on the disc which in turn caused the pulsing. Just spend a bit of time cleaning them as per the video and then go and bed them in properly and then all should be good/better. Ride safe 😁
How hard are they on the disks? I have a 2010 Moto Guzzi Stelvio and am thinking of installing the EBC semi metallic so the bite is not too hard and I go easier on the disks. What do you think?
Hi . I’m no expert! They have worked for me but I am a nice weather only kind of rider these days, so I couldn’t really comment on longevity on discs etc .
Hi. I put EBC green brake pads in my T120 black and transformed the brakes. A quick question ref your GS. I now have a 23 plate GSA ans am getting vibration through the right handle and uou put new bar end weights on your bike. Did it make much difference. Thanks in advance
I’m in two minds about buying used this model speed twin or the newer one. I will be riding them shortly. Suspect the newer model will be a couple thousand more . Not sure if worth it. I used the weak points of your model are suspension and brakes ?… wondering how much better the new model is in comparison. Your thoughts ?
Simply don't understand why they didn't put better suspension on the rear. I have toyed about with dropping £600 on the rear, but haven't done it yet! To be honest, I love just riding the thing slowly kind of using the torque out of the bends . It can be ridden fast, if you so wish ,but it clearly isn't a sports bike. I like the retro look of my front end and with those new pads, still no brake judder and it stops pretty well.My engine has had the ecu done and makes more than enough hp for me, I think the newer engine has a few tweaks. Good luck.
I'd recommend the Bitubo rear shocks and fork inserts, I got mine done at Obsession Engineering in Lincoln, it has definitely made a difference. He has a video on RUclips of him doing it for a customer.
There's something very theraputic about watching people work on their bikes. 😇
yes indeed there is 😂

Best breed in my humble opinion. Just got back from a weeks flying and the dogs went nuts ....nice to come home 😁

Hi, not a single squeal out of mine....so far .....and no juddering from the discs....so far. Hopefully the copper paste does the trick.
Thanks sir !!
Most welcome
Hi @gsd321 ! Have you had any luck in eliminating the pulsation when braking? Thanks!
Yes it worked a treat.

@@gsd32ithanks! I did try cleaning the discs but have not tried the rebedding procedure.. will try! Many thanks!
EBC is the shit. Best brake pads
Funny enough, my rear brakes started squealing once I put the EBC pads on 🤦🏻♂️. It‘s only from about 5mph down to stop.
Hi. Mine are still quiet as a mouse. Try cleaning the discs?
@@gsd32i Yeah, that’s the plan. I don’t have a rear stand (yet) so that’s a bit painful to do.

So the previous generation speed twin has axial mounted brakes ? Not mentioned much. A problem compared to radial ?
Hi, I haven't found them to be too much of a problem, to be honest.
