Old IITs don't have EC branch/department. There VLSI/IC design is included in EE department only. So obviously EE can do it too. EE people are the power of the world (literally they supply the power), deep respect from EC guy (me).

You're absolutely right! I'm currently working at Qualcomm, and I can attest to what you're saying. However, one thing that wasn't mentioned is that there are a lot of students in the queue who have completed their courses and VLSI and are still waiting for a job. As a fresher, it can be difficult to secure a position, but once you get the job, life becomes much easier.

I am 2024 graduate from NIT Kurukshetra in ECE Branch, got placed at Sprinklr during campus placement but now offer is revoked. So now I have decided to pursue M.Tech in VLSI Design from NIT Kurukshetra. Hoping for the best

After looking the salary of VLSI engineers I have decided to pursue M.Tech in VLSI. In my college first 2 semester teach in campus and for next 2 semester it will send all students to Taiwan for better studies. Taiwan is Market leader in semiconductor industry about 47% and above market capture in this field.
PSU are the waist of money and time. There is no growth in future.
India me v VLSI company ka starting salary 20 lacs p.a. hai wo v metro cities me. Income k sath life ka full enjoy.

But again, india is becoming the manufacturing hub, and i guess VLSI students would want to work in design and development domain like ASIC Engineer, PD engineer, RTL design engineer, and other fields related to evolution of AI chips.
Please provide updates from that perspective.

FYI : jitni bhi semiconductor companies hai usme RF and communication ke alg profiles hote hai , and yes package is same.
eg: texas instruments, qualcomm , broadcomm etc etc etc
