I think what some people aren't getting is that his (poor) decision making was incremental, not all at once. I don't think at any point he was mindlessly trying to walk 11 hours to Los Cristianos. He was trying to walk to where there were more travel options. So he initially walks North (possibly because there's one of two big bus interchanges marked on some maps further north, though it's a deceptive distance away). He doesn't do that for long and heads back down, likely thinking if he gets to Tiede, there'll also be many more buses (& he'd be right) and it would still be roughly following the route of the bus from Masca he didn't want to wait around 2 hours for. He looks down into the valley and sees the pattern of switchback roads circling round and down and thinks that's for cars, I don't need to follow that round in circles. I'll take a cross country short cut that'll be quicker. He also thinks if I can get to the beach, I can likely walk along the beach by the headland (he doesn't know the beaches are dead ends - or - he knows about the tourist boat that sometimes brings people from Las Gigantes, but he doesn't realise that it's ad hoc boat). He sets off, the land is rough, he cuts his leg - I think he's aware he's in a bit of a situation at this point, and this is when the phone calls are made. But he's still laughing too when he speaks to his male friend - it's still frameable as the story he'll tell his mates back home, how he ended up stuck in the middle of nowhere, not exactly sure where he was. He ends up on the ridges of the ravine rather than the valley floor and comes to the bit that requires edging round (there's video of people doing this on the web and reviews on hiking sites saying it's too dangerous). He looks, knows it's dodgy, but he has the innate physical confidence that many 19 year old young men have and thinks oh it'll be ok. And he thinks it'll be the final challenge before getting to the beach (it wouldn't have been). He is affected by lack of sleep, come down from drugs, likely hasn't eaten for over 12 hours). And it's this that kills him - moving stones beneath his feet, footwear not appropriate, one slip.

GBP is stronger than Euros. So him coming with pounds would mean he had a fair amount more money than if he had euros. His family or friends would have done a quick transfer to give him money for a cab. Or they could’ve booked a cab for him and paid with a credit card. It’s very easy to arrange transport here in Spain. OR sit at the cafe next door eat and drink something, have a cigarette, and wait until the bus arrived.

On looking up the buses, Masca to Los Cristianos, titsa site, the Journey Planner deemed deceptive, just Santiago del Teide and Adeje available in the dropdowns. Browsing bus lines and timetables - maybe more useful, took longer. My hit was line 355 Masca to Santiago del Teide at 10:05 and 12:30 Monday morning as everyone is saying, on to Los Cristianos through lines 460, 473, changing at Adeje, alternatively lines 325, 473, changing at Los Gigantes, single fare for this last item EUR 4.65. Express buses via Santa Cruz not queried.
There was no beach access from the direction Jay was traveling on. There were no hiking trails from that terrain Jay was on, to the beach. There is a Mesca Gorge from a different entrance that would have gotten him to a beach, but that beach was remote, and he couldn't get to any villages from that beach either. Jay was walking in a dangerous terrain and this was the outcome.

After watching another vlog, swing brads eye in the interview does show he has a black eye! The truth is Jay got taken and his friends and the two bnb guys had to stage his disappearance to avoid them being on the hit list! Hence why Luce is in police protection now! The truth will come out!
People keep banging on about county lines. County lines is when school aged kids are recruited by dealers in the UK to transport drugs usually from the big cities to smaller towns. The idea being it removes the risk and inconvenience to the dealers. Kids who are having troubled adolescence, truating, et c are at risk of involvement. County lines is not about 19 year old adults and international drug trading. Not that there's any evidence of Jay doing that,anyway, but if he had been it would not be county lines.

That makes a lot of sense. That is an expensive cab ride to say the least! I was in the Navy 1995-2000. I was stationed in southern Spain…Rota but made multiple deployments to Crete, Greece. I think it cost us $20 to go from the base to Chania….a 20 minute or so drive. That was a long time ago though. I can see why he opted to walk. He was probably broke. Bc he was probably tired & thirsty he was probably trying to take a shortcut to get back as soon as you could. Unfamiliar with the area, he put himself in a situation he couldn’t get out of. Took chances he shouldn’t have & it cost him his life. One thing to note too….we worked a lot but a few times we drove across the island. I remember some areas looking quite mountainous & there were shear drop offs everywhere with little to protect one from surviving if there was an accident of some sort. That being said I can imagine areas away from the roads being treacherous like what Jay experienced.

If he didn’t have big taxi money he could have taken the lift/waited/OR HITCHHIKED (unless he was avoiding certain people that might pick him up before a kindly stranger did) but if all his hearsay-buddies are to be believed he just wandered off despite their kindnesses to him??? Come on! Even if Jay was an idiot, and an intoxicated one, the body has biochemical means of sobering you up PRONTO, if your life is in danger. All manner of adrenaline and whatnot etc would kick in. Your survival instincts will not allow you to choose a probably high-risk option…unless the alternative is a definite high-risk option. I think this story is wrong. There is no motive for Jay to go with those two people in the car to their place. They were all tired and ready to sleep. I think they forced Jay to come with them. Lucy knows more probably. If Jay wanted to go back to his hotel he could wait for the bus 2 hours. Anybody would give him some water. He left trying to distance himself from the two companions so walked in the opposite direction thinking if they want to catch him they will come with the car on the bus route. The other thing at play here is holiday optimism. People often behave like nothing bad can happen to them on holiday because it's happy time, magical time, they have the patron saint of fun sitting on their shoulder taking care of them, because they're On Holiday! I think what some people aren't getting is that his (poor) decision making was incremental, not all at once. I don't think at any point he was mindlessly trying to walk 11 hours to Los Cristianos. He was trying to walk to where there were more travel options. So he initially walks North (possibly because there's one of two big bus interchanges marked on some maps further north, though it's a deceptive distance away). He doesn't do that for long and heads back down, likely thinking if he gets to Tiede, there'll also be many more buses (& he'd be right) and it would still be roughly following the route of the bus from Masca he didn't want to wait around 2 hours for. He looks down into the valley and sees the pattern of switchback roads circling round and down and thinks that's for cars, I don't need to follow that round in circles. I'll take a cross country short cut that'll be quicker. He also thinks if I can get to the beach, I can likely walk along the beach by the headland (he doesn't know the beaches are dead ends - or - he knows about the tourist boat that sometimes brings people from Las Gigantes, but he doesn't realise that it's ad hoc boat). He sets off, the land is rough, he cuts his leg - I think he's aware he's in a bit of a situation at this point, and this is when the phone calls are made. But he's still laughing too when he speaks to his male friend - it's still frameable as the story he'll tell his mates back home, how he ended up stuck in the middle of nowhere, not exactly sure where he was. He ends up on the ridges of the ravine rather than the valley floor and comes to the bit that requires edging round (there's video of people doing this on the web and reviews on hiking sites saying it's too dangerous). He looks, knows it's dodgy, but he has the innate physical confidence that many 19 year old young men have and thinks oh it'll be ok. And he thinks it'll be the final challenge before getting to the beach (it wouldn't have been). He is affected by lack of sleep, come down from drugs, likely hasn't eaten for over 12 hours). And it's this that kills him - moving stones beneath his feet, footwear not appropriate, one slip.
Those 2 Jeffers should have looked after him in that state. He was so high he moonwalked off a cliff in South Africa u can get shot for walking onto someone’s private propity.

On looking up the buses, Masca to Los Cristianos, titsa site, the Journey Planner deemed deceptive, just Santiago del Teide and Adeje available in the dropdowns. Browsing bus lines and timetables - maybe more useful, took longer. My hit was line 355 Masca to Santiago del Teide at 10:05 and 12:30 Monday morning as everyone is saying, on to Los Cristianos through lines 460, 473, changing at Adeje, alternatively lines 325, 473, changing at Los Gigantes, single fare for this last item EUR 4.65. Express buses via Santa Cruz not queried.

There was no beach access from the direction Jay was traveling on. There were no hiking trails from that terrain Jay was on, to the beach. There is a Mesca Gorge from a different entrance that would have gotten him to a beach, but that beach was remote, and he couldn't get to any villages from that beach either. Jay was walking in a dangerous terrain and this was the outcome.

We have been told by Ayub, Rocky, Lucy etc that he voluntarily went back to Masca BNB and on the way stopped for a few more drinks in Santiago del Teide. There have surfaced on TikTok several interesting clips in Teide including a clip of 3-4 men on a deserted stony beach with a non moving body at their feet taken from above looking down. They all appear to be dressed in white. There is also another clip at the Marina at Santiago del Teide with several figures dressed in white.and a white car. Remember also the long distance beach clip with 3 white clad men with the ''Oh Jay, Oh Jay'' screams assumed to be Lucy. We also have clips of 4 characters running after a meetup behind the red portable cafe in Teide square on CCTV and then a clip where a cop and the limping man in white can be seen presumably later searching behind red closed up cafe block. Jay's Dad went down to that square in Teide si it must be relevant. The tarot card lady was spot on with the text msg info she received as it joins many of the dots. I don't think Jay ever made it to the BNB but was transported from Playa either dead or alive in Ayubs car to Teide then by other unidentified individuals by rib to the Gigantes ravine beach and placed further up the ravine. The idea being it removes the risk and inconvenience to the dealers. Kids who are having troubled adolescence, truating, et c are at risk of involvement. County lines is not about 19 year old adults and international drug trading. Not that there's any evidence of Jay doing that,anyway, but if he had been it would not be county lines.

That makes a lot of sense. That is an expensive cab ride to say the least! I was in the Navy 1995-2000. I was stationed in southern Spain…Rota but made multiple deployments to Crete, Greece. I think it cost us $20 to go from the base to Chania….a 20 minute or so drive. That was a long time ago though. I can see why he opted to walk. He was probably broke. Bc he was probably tired & thirsty he was probably trying to take a shortcut to get back as soon as you could. Unfamiliar with the area, he put himself in a situation he couldn’t get out of. Took chances he shouldn’t have & it cost him his life. One thing to note too….we worked a lot but a few times we drove across the island. I remember some areas looking quite mountainous & there were shear drop offs everywhere with little to protect one from surviving if there was an accident of some sort. That being said I can imagine areas away from the roads being treacherous like what Jay experienced.

A pasty-skinned English boy, like Jay is not stupid when it comes to sunscreen. If he wasn’t religious about it he would have been hospitalised by the first night in Tenerife, because I’ve seen pictures of him at day parties. Sooooooo he lasted 3 days, despite being high and probably drunk without being sent to A&E, so he was very much aware of the need for sunscreen! Why did he not ask his B&B buddies for some SPF? He was ok asking them for à cigarette, and the use of a charger?!!! But he didn’t ask for sunscreen? Maybe Ayub (not being as pasty as Jay, isn’t as concerned with sun exposure, and that’s why he didn’t add it to his possibly fictional list of Jay’s needs that he kindly fulfilled) There’s NO way (given his respect for his skin-tone over the last 3 days) that Jay would have opted to walk 11 hours in the full sun. If he didn’t have big taxi money he could have taken the lift/waited/OR HITCHHIKED (unless he was avoiding certain people that might pick him up before a kindly stranger did) but if all his hearsay-buddies are to be believed he just wandered off despite their kindnesses to him??? Come on! Even if Jay was an idiot, and an intoxicated one, the body has biochemical means of sobering you up PRONTO, if your life is in danger. All manner of adrenaline and whatnot etc would kick in. Your survival instincts will not allow you to choose a probably high-risk option…unless the alternative is a definite high-risk option. I think this story is wrong. There is no motive for Jay to go with those two people in the car to their place. They were all tired and ready to sleep. I think they forced Jay to come with them. Lucy knows more probably.
If Jay wanted to go back to his hotel he could wait for the bus 2 hours. Anybody would give him some water. He left trying to distance himself from the two companions so walked in the opposite direction thinking if they want to catch him they will come with the car on the bus route.

The other thing at play here is holiday optimism. People often behave like nothing bad can happen to them on holiday because it's happy time, magical time, they have the patron saint of fun sitting on their shoulder taking care of them, because they're On Holiday! This is actually why there's a lot of fatalities involving mopeds, swimming pools, balconies, the sea, the roads - especially of young people, especially of young men.
An example of this - there was,a craze a few years back of people in the type of holiday complexes Jay & friends were staying in. Young adults jumping from their balconies, sometimes several floors up, into the swimming pool below. Can you imagine ? Miss by inches and land on a tiled floor, not your head on the pool edge, find out the water isnt deep enough to prevent permanent spinal injury. They'd never do it at home. But they were on holiday, so risk didn't count.
