HA! First commenter here. The DBX 286s saved my butt in a very noisy environment with computer fans on 200% (Intel Mac in a livestream with Ecamm & ZOOM...) when used with a condenser mic. I will always keep the DBX, although Ive just bought a Mac Mini which is very silent, but exactly as you say, it's a great pre-recording/streaming unit that saves a lot of time and effort.
