Some people can't even afford internet to watch the show, even our own natives. It deserves to be watched. So hope some savvy youngings can share this with their parents and grandparents. We can all learn from this as Native people.

It's not super accessible.
I grew up on the Tule Indian Reservation here in mid-valley Cali as a kid and I can relate to the series traumatic emotional tragedies of substance abuse. Before it was just problems drinking fire water, now it's meth and fetanyl. It wasn't till the Casino was built in the '90s that the tribal council also built a rehab center which has had a positive impact for most citizens of the Rez.
I grew up near there in Central Cali. I remember visiting 'Indian town' on the backside of Exeter and how things were before the Casino came into the area.
"Before they died and after, and the ripples in-between.." that one hits hard when talking about friends and family we had and lost and the things we remember about them and sometimes the things we forgot about them.
I really hope Taz comes back to direct another episode. This was the most well executed and directed episode so far.
I loved this so much.
I liked the one where they went hunting more. The dialogue and interaction was perfect.
I love Bill Burr and his comedy. Glad he's in this series. Really glad to see him growing and moving into acting more as well.
If you haven't seen it yet, check out, "The King of Staten Island" he brings comedy and some dramatic acting to the table in that as well.

Comedians make some of the best dramatic actors. Everyone thinks Robin Williams only did comedies. He did more dramas and after TV, those were most of his early roles.
By far one of the best episodes of the season.
I've loved every episode. And every episode after the first, I left think "OMG, it just keeps getting better."
Woke up one Saturday afternoon, hearing my grandfather slowly climbing the 100 year old stairs, sobbing and taking longer to make each step. I was out partying the night before so I was pretty hung over, but hearing the sobs from my grandfather scared me white. I never seen the guy sad in my whole live. He said, "Mom died" I thought he meant HIS MOM, who was still alive and kicking. NOPE i found out as we drove to the house of my aunts, it was my mother. It's been 25 years, and im not sure it has sunk in yet.

Yep, generation after generation... He was her mom's friend and now her friends have lost a beloved friend. 💔 "there is before she/ he died...and then there's after. Ripples in between."
SO MANY people on our reservation die every year.
The cemeteries are all full. My husband died because of agent orange. It is heartbreaking.
I hope this show helps our youth find purpose.

Goddamn this episode was so freaking heavy. Literally between finding out how her mom died, and seeing her find Daniel, it really hits the soul. The ending was kinda bittersweet, with her passing, and telling the coach what his nickname meant, and the perfect song at the end

Devery Jacobs was so powerful w/ her emotions in this scene, as she was in so many other scenes throughout this show.

If you mean by going back before European arrival. The world is not going to move backwards. Like the old man told Tommy Lee Jones, “You can’t stop what’s comin.”
It’s a noble cause to want the best for other Natives. But you have to lift up yourself first and foremost. How can you expect Natives to rise when you’re on about how tired you are?
You say you’re willing to fight for your people.
Then fight. Youre no good to them if you end up a 50 year old depressed man watching tv.
If you truly want indegenous blood to rise, youve got to start with yourself.

I'm not indigenous to the Americas but I am indigenous to a nation similarly scarred by colonization, wars, exploitation & poverty. I also pray that the indigenous people of North & South America can rise & reclaim more of these two continents that are rightfully yours.

Its only the first few episodes and they already had Bobby Lee and Bill Burr on the show, next thing you know we are going to see Ron White at the bar telling stories on the show. Great show.

The younger generation of characters seems to be trying to handle their grief better than the older generation did. They are doing it together, where as the elders were in the habit of pushing people away and isolating themself from the people who inadvertently made them remember.
Wasn’t really expecting to see him hanging, and her reaction made me tear up, had to pause the scene man.

I’ve lost a lot a friends to jail n the n grave. The worst part is accepting you’ll never see them again. It’s one thing knowing you won’t see someone again but they’re still alive out there in the world for other people to meet n love. It’s a whole different story knowing you were one of the last people to see a loved one before they passed on.
