both pheonix films suffer because they dive straight into dark pheonix. jean grey was the pheonix for years before she snapped, the plot needs time to breathe. it's exactly the problem Danaerys suffered, the turn needs to be built to.

That's definitely part of the problem with doing movie franchises from comics. Comic book characters are immortal, actors in real life have very finite amount of time before they've aged too much to do the roles or want to do them anymore. Doesn't help that Sophie Turner is very lacking in acting ability. Sucking at acting is fine when you're a child actor, but if talent doesn't show up around 17 or 18, clock's ticking. I don't think she'll be cast in many more major roles, but then Mark Wahlberg was the highest paid actor in Hollywood for a few years so what do I know? lol
I agree about Jean, but they were setting up Daenerys' "turn" since season one.
1:00 the *ONLY* good thing to come from 'Deadpool' in X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the scene from the Deadpool 2 post credits montage.
It's amazing. The funniest part of that will always be the Friday Deadpool 2 came out I watched X-Men Origins right before heading to the movies and as soon as it cut to that I immediately recognized it. 10/10 Best Post Credit Scene: The Reason Endgame didn't have a post credit scene. They just couldn't top it.

It's the only one in the modern set of characters that wasn't written by Last Stand's writer.
Its success also is the reason why we're still getting these movies with these actors.

The opening segment in X2 when Nightcrawler attacks the white house is one of the most memorable openings of a movie I've ever seen.
Tad disappointed there was no mention of how absolutely amazing Nightcrawler is in X2...easily the standout character of the movie
Everyone talks about Wolverine and I love him but Nightcrawler was done very well in X2!
Nightcrawler's opening scene and Wolverine fucking up strykers men are the highlight of X2.
The only way they could have improved Nightcrawler is if he came in, twatting everyone with a baguette. One can dream.

The final act was okay, but yeah the movie gets more hate then it should. Yet personally, i think deadpool gets more love then it should. Thank god for opinions huh? Lol!

That movie was ruined by kids. Equivalent of Patrick Stewart dying in real life, and some kids are running around screaming, playing tag around the casket, at the funeral. Riot if you want. Kids dropped that movie from 1 to 11.

My top 3 would be 1) Logan, 2) X2, 3) First Class. I enjoyed Deadpool, but found the schtick a little tiresome in Deadpool 2. Days of Future Past is a lot of fun, but I'm really getting burned out on time travel stories (and yes, I can say the same for Avengers: Endgame). Also, my opinion of X2 may be inflated because I've always loved Nightcrawler, and Alan Cumming absolutely nails the part.
The first X-Men should get bonus points for introducing Patrick Stewart to Ian McKellen, probably the most adorable old guy friendship since Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner.

Controversial here, but I actually found both Deadpool movies a bit boring and fell asleep in the cinema during D2. First Class was a superb movie and would probably be my No1, followed closely by Logan. The scene in First Class with Magneto in the bar with the two Germans is brilliant.

Jean Grey and Dark Phoenix are very interesting and deep characters but they have no idea how to show it in the movies. Comics did it right though.
Anyway, X-Men (2000), X2 (2003) are still my favorite movies. The Last Stand, Apocalypse and even Dark Phoenix are underrated while First Class is a bit overrated
Yeah, part of the problem is Sophie Turner. Her lack of acting ability was fine when she was a kid, because pretty much all kids suck at acting, but now, it's time for her to stop being cast in major roles. She just doesn't have any talent at it.

I personally thought that "Deadpool" was the only bad thing about X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I thought the rest of the movie was just fine but that's just me.....I totally agree with Jules in regards to Gambit though!
I would not say that Deadpool was the only bad thing, but I do agree that the film is nowhere near as bad as people make it out and they tend to let the whole Deadpool thing cloud their judgement. The Sabretooth in this film was amazing in this film, and really should have made another appearance in the X-Men franchise at some point. Far better than the version from X1.
I loved Reynolds version of Wade before his transformation as well.
And lets not forget Blob.
Agreed pre-transformation Wade Wilson was awesome and I loved Blob, visually I preferred the original Sabretooth but there is no doubt that acting wise Liev Schreiber was better than Tyler Mane.
Logan is great but it's definitely not the best movie from the X-Men franchise. It has some pacing and plot problems that lessen its overall quality. It's an 8.0-8.5/10 movie.

@@chriszone50 Logan and Days of future past are so different but are both so amazing its hard to decide which is first or second. People sleep on First class when in actuality it is on the verge of brilliant and it belongs right beside Days of Future Past and Logan. X2 is very good and it changed superhero movies a lot at the time but AS GOOD as people remember it as. Apocalypse gets crap for some reasonable reasons but it also does a great job with re-establishing our main heroes especially the shy Jean, the scared nightcrawler, and the nervous Scott (all of which I'd say are better than the versions in the first 3 X-Men films. Plus, the trilogy of First Class, Future Past, and Apocalypse are taken up a notch in quality simply for the master acting class that McAvoy and Fassbender put on in every movie. X-Men 1 is actually not a very good superhero movie especially by todays standards, but I do understand the credit it gets for being the first. Thats just how I see it.

That just makes it all the more impressive to me, not gonna lie. It doesn't make me move it higher up on my X-Men list, but for a first attempt I'm not at all mad at it.
My big issue with it was that it felt like it was trying to be too safe instead of trying to really push it. I guess that makes sense if it was their first go at the director's chair.

Also what is the power of Deadpool in Origins? All I can think of is the ability to use swords as lightsabers.
I think he was being heavily experimented on and got all the famous X-men's abilities (cyclops, nightcrawler, etc)

He wasn’t dead pool at that point. He jst had insane sword swinging abilities....... 🤔🤔🤔 he only became deadpool after he was given all the other powers! Until that point he was jst called wade

Deadpool is not an xmen movie. Its a deadpool movie. There are xmen in it but its not their movie. Thats like saying spiderman homecoming was an ironman movie or antman was an avengers movie just because other characters happened to be in it

I used to know the guy who played the General in X Men Origins: Wolverine. A bunch of us went to see the movie with him when it came out. It was awkward afterwards.

In Wolverine Origins, an adamantium bullet makes Wolverine lose his memory, in Logan, it exploded a skull. Wolverine Origins isn't even cannon to anything. Logan can be canon to the first 2 xmen films or to timeline 2.
