Your totally right, ive been obsessed with this for months now, there is currently a huge island of plastic bottles in the pacific ocean the size of texas. though storms would be a big concern
Unfortunately, The floating island made of recycled water bottles island has been since destroyed and removed in 2019 “Joyxee Island was open for tours at one point. However, it was damaged by storms and the local authorities made the owner remove it in January 2019” - Wikipedia
I came here to see a video about floating islands, NOT a image of you talking! Your 10 min video only has about 3 min of content showing the islands and all you did was take clips from other people's videos and talk a lot around those clips.
Imagine making a big international movement to build a mega floating island for tousand of people and ship it out to international waters and make it a new country? Away from the establishment with corrupt politicians and high taxes? It would maybe not be a perfect utopian society, but a good alternative to what it is today around the world...
That's actually a complicated answer. I think pointers from each island could create a more sustainable low maintenance island. But just to choose island of plastic is my favorite and the island with the couple reminds me of Disneyland with the colors for my 2nd favorite.
I love how people take horrible pollution and transform in into something the planet can finally be grateful for.. Rather be Grateful than Dead lol (rock n roll pun) Turning destruction into production .. Innovative and may be the answer

The problem of where to do this is serious... in open water I imagine the island is a boat and has boat regulations.... maybe over marsh land that is too wet to build a tradition foundation and house, but it is going to have building code problems unless it's in an area without building code requirements. You'd always need a 'deed of ownership' to the land, then you might be able to build a floating island...local government might even be helpful, as the loss of land to rising water levels is a real problem. These floating island methods might be an answer to rising oceans and tides.
Its considerd an ecological boat. How soft the soil is depends on how compact the soil is. Mangrooves can be used along with other plants to help keep the soil together, which is what mangrooves do it the wild.

It only degrades when exposed to UV. so under the water, covered by soil they will last for 100s of years if not longer. That's the problem with landfills, the plastic could degrade but covered by dirt it last wayyyyyy longer
This guy just added 100+ thousand bottles and plastic potato bags in the water, adding to the plastic pollution of the ocean. This is constantly giving off massive amounts of micro plastics into the water...
The Plastic bottle Island makes the most sense. If constructed correctly, it actually becomes stronger with time.

Except for all the microplastic that would come from the plastic degrades

@@BGTech1 Wikipedia isn’t accurate
@@Batman-lg2zj I did hours of research on this, and I can tell you that there are other sources that confirm it’s true.

@@svetlanikolova7673 new mexico isn't a floating island
I‘m planning to do something exactly like this in the next years. That’s also one of the reasons I’m here.

Humans can and do live on nothing but plant foods. We do not need to kill and eat animals to live. I love these floating islands!
Large net wrap the empty water bottle then coat slightly with 1 in cement then floating is easy
the tour guide on the floating titikaka island, said that they only have to rebuild their island every 25 years.
This so amazing this place looks so beautiful wow!!!

Well considering that plastic like all other things naturally decays over time eventually this island will sink…
