Yanjin is a special place and I kind of felt like I went back to my roots while telling this story. Back to 2017 when I first picked up a video camera.
It’s probably not the most “viral” video I could have made on my China trip, but that’s okay. It is certainly a story that I enjoyed telling, and this city has left a lasting impact on me. And I hope it will for you too!!
The nature, the society, the hospitality, the layout of the land - is all extremely unique and awesome! This is my 6th trip to mainland China, but my first time being away from the big cities on the East Coast. I’m wildly impressed by life out here. Thanks for watching and keep and eye out for the next 5 episodes in my China series!! 🇨🇳🙏

That dude is the reason why I travel. He represents everything about being a good ambassador when a foreigner comes to visit. He not only gave you an exclusive tour around his hometown, even going as far as taking you up high in the mountains, but actually invited you into his house. And to top it off, he's got a beautiful smile too!

Unbelievable! Mr. Binskey! I lived on the upscale side of Yanjin in the same kind of school-provided flats for the 3 foreigners who were all there to teach English. )2001-2002) I walked the same bustling streets , ate wonderful street foods as you did, and took the same nearly treacherous hike as you.

In small cities in China, it's pretty common to find apartment that look outdated, dusty and messing in the hallway/stairs/outside, but actual homes inside are nothing but modern decorated spaces. I also find it odd, but average folks there are just more tolerate to old/broken/unmanaged public spaces within the building they live in
