I love that he wants to live as gently as possible on the earth. But he should be more honest, it is untrue to say he lives without money for who pays for his spectacles, his electronic equipment etc. I also saw lots of highly processed cereal in his kitchen and, speaking as a gardener, his 'crops' are no such thing.

This is guy is a beautiful man. He isn't bothering anyone, he is literally making the world a better place. If I knew where he was I would drop of more supplies that he can reuse
this man literally left civilization because he didn't vibe w it anymore, brought a bunch of chickens with him and built an entire ISLAND out of RECYCLED WOOD, continues to clean out the river, researches his environment, does tarot, cares for bats and birds, and literally just devotes his life to the vibes. i love him.

This is easily one of the coolest things anyone has ever made. I love the efficiency of the layout, too. It’s so _satisfying_ how it all fits together.
The fact that he spends so much time researching his environmental impact and focuses on enhancing vs depleting is amazing ! More people like this would be more of a balance with so many of us living and depleting our mother earth of all she has.
We need 6 billion LESS humans and 500 million guys like this to care for our planet 🌎 no more than 1.5 or 2 billion… jeeze, it’s hard to count to a million!

He needs to start an apprenticeship/fellowship program, or just literally teach classes, because people need to be able to see and learn that this kind of thing actually works.

Seems like all he did was read books. If you want to learn anything, consider visiting your local library. People think that you NEED someone else to be physically present to teach you when we have centuries of human knowledge at our fingertips. The hard part is learning where to find your information, which does take practice.
Yup. Slave society. It's not Eben legal to live like this man. What a shame. I want to live like him too, but property taxes force us to live "in grid" in the sense that we need to work a 9-5 to make income to pay the tax man. If it weren't for property tax, we could live much more fruitful lives... At least for those of us who want this kind of lifestyle, and prefer the natural freedom over the daily grind in the city and suburb life.

@@garethbaus5471 The concern is that a project like this, with a mediocre core component or other error could be catastrophic. If you go very slow, you can learn from your errors, but a better approach would be to give everyone some fundamental skills in trades, independence, and self-sufficiency.

How I understood what you're saying here. If I were to read something - from the internet, books, magazines, etc. - someone wrote is 'valid'. He reminds me of my grandpa. He lived like this after many years in the military. He just wanted a simple quiet life. His place looked a lot like this guys with all the tools and DIY everywhere. This man is a great inspiration and we would all do well to learn to live off the land more.
Same for my grandpa, his house is made of planks and so are the furnitures inside. Simple and unpolished, but sturdy as hell since they’re still useful. Sometimes I wish he’s still around.

Seems like all he did was read books. If you want to learn anything, consider visiting your local library. People think that you NEED someone else to be physically present to teach you when we have centuries of human knowledge at our fingertips. The hard part is learning where to find your information, which does take practice.

He reminds me of my grandpa. He lived like this after many years in the military. He just wanted a simple quiet life. His place looked a lot like this guys with all the tools and DIY everywhere. This man is a great inspiration and we would all do well to learn to live off the land more.
Same for my grandpa, his house is made of planks and so are the furnitures inside. Simple and unpolished, but sturdy as hell since they’re still useful. Sometimes I wish he’s still around.
