I bought a Weber kettle in early 82..it was an 81 model. So 42 years later I am still running it. Heavier gauge metal on the earlier ones. The bottom grill has a small burn out in the center after ohh 40 years. Also have BGE and a Klose offset for 20 years each. And a 130k BTU lpg Wok Burner. But just pu a used Performer Delux with Gas assist, tools and a bag of Kingsford for 125.
Heck of a deal to scoop the performer deluxe with charcoal for $125! I'm a lil jealous. Sounds like you have a yard full of cookers like me. Wife doesn't complain too much though because I feed her. Thanks for watching!
@@TeeWayEatzBBQTreatz in the past I have had a Cheney 35 G Drum bbq bought down on Century Blvd in LA for 115. Burned a hole in the bottom. That led finally to the Klose. which with 500 in freight cost 2k. Today if I were to buy a new offset it would be a Lonestar..lots of refinements over the years. I have had a Weber Performer since early 2007. That's 13 years folks. It's getting a little long in the tooth (3 rust spots on the bottom kettle), so I just purchased a new Deluxe Performer as depicted in this review. I have loved my grill, and will love this one. Regarding the bin that opens, back in the day, I tested it for charcoal storage. As you may or may not know, charcoal is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air), and if figured if I stored my charcoal there it would get so damp it wouldn't burn. Not so. Just fold the top of the bag over, and put it in there, along with the newspaper to fire up the chimney starter. One last thing; any weber grill can be transformed into a smoker! Google "smokenator". I have smoked pork butts, ribs, briskets, chickens, turkeys, you name it. Works deliciously GREAT!! Thanks for reading.
David, I love storing my charcoal in this thing. I even store wood chunks. I have never had issues with damp charcoal. I love the bin on this thing and it’s super convenient. This grill is an awesome smoker, it’s so versatile smoke, grill, bbq, sear, broil, rotisserie.....this grill does it all! I’m ashamed it took me this long to get into the Weber kettle game! I appreciate your feedback, it is much appreciated my friend. Thanks so much for watching!

Bloba Totep I’m with you! Awesome lil unit so far. You got me beat I’ve only done about 3 cooks so far. Like I said in the video this grill has some great little features. I’m loving it. Thanks for watching!
Got one because of versatile. I've done pizza, cinnamon rolls, steak, burgers, tenderloin, shrimp, smoked a brisket, pork shoulder, butt. Beer can chickens. Does it all. I did buy the pizza stone, slow n seer, the rotisserie. I went to ULINE website and ordered 24" rolls of aluminum foil and butcher paper. Then went to my hardware store. Got a piece of half inch conduit, 4 eye bolts, flat washers and pins. Hung the rolls off the back of the cart. Put a bunge cord across them so the cant unroll in the wind.
I've had one for ten years and love it. I fill the gas bottles from a twenty pounder. Had to replace some parts but that's ok as it's a lot cheaper than getting another. All parts are available. Table cleans up well with Mr. Clean. Mine is blue.
So glad you enjoyed the video. This is such an amazing grill. You are going to create some outstanding backyard food. So fun to cook on! So happy to see you watching all the way from the U.K. Thanks so much for watching!

Hey, thanks for the video. I have a question because I plan to buy one soon but I hesitate to take the version with gas or not. The only advantage I would like to have with gas is to reduce fuel costs. Does this gas system eventually cost less than the conventional system with cubes and lighters to light the coal? How much ignition on average can you do with your gas bottle? Thanks for your help.
Great question. The biggest advantage is having the gas model for lighting your charcoal quickly. It’s intended use was just to help you quickly get your charcoal lit. It works fantastic for that. I generally get anywhere from 25-30 uses before I need another bottle. That’s also dependent how long you leave it running to light your charcoal. I hope that I answered your questions. Thanks a ton for watching!
Oscar, Honestly I use a brillo pad, soapy water, and sponge. I also buy grill cleaners (non toxic) to clean it out. Put a pan under your meat as a drip pan when you cook as that helps a lot with keeping your grill clean. I clean mine out about every three months and I cook a lot on it. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

I'm thinking that charcoal bin would be a good place to store smoking chips too.
My only concern is food drippings clogging the propane assist because it's exposed. Did you find anything about that while researching? Great video, the extra tools are a great value with this package.
Felipe, it has never been an issue for me. I clean my grills regularly though. For the most part if you clean your tools regularly and put a pan underneath your grate to catch food drippings it won’t be an issue for you. Thanks for watching!
Thats usually not an issue with charcoal grills as grease is usually burned off during cooking and during expended shut down unlike a gas grill which shuts down rapidly leaving grease buildup.
By far my favorite cooker. Coming from someone who gas ceramic, pellet, and barrel smokers/cookers. Splurging on this one would not be a mistake. Thanks for watching!

1. Was that the normal sized chimney? 2. Why do you use the chimney with the gas assist? Cant you just use the baskets and use the gas assist to heat the charcoal directly? Thanks in advance!
Michael, The chimney in this video was weber’s half chimney. They make two chimney sizes a full and half size. You don’t have to use a chimney with the gas assist it’s a preference thing. I will put my chimney over the flame from my gas assist and then spread my hot coals around on other unlit coals this is called the (minion method) check it out on RUclips. You can absolutely use your baskets and use the gas assist. I hope this helps. Thanks for the questions and, thanks for watching!
@@TeeWayEatzBBQTreatz thanks for the reply! Stupid question, but why would one need a small chimney? Could you just use the full chimney but fill it up only half way? New to this whole thing, so appreciate your help!
Michael, You don’t necessarily need to buy a half chimney. You could buy a regular size and do half. I accidentally bought the wrong size online and then bought the big one later and that’s why I have both a half and a full size. Never a bad thing to have two chimneys on hand. Good question though. I had a lot of the same questions when I was starting out. Glad to help!
I would use an oven cleaner like easy off. You can use soap and water and a sponge/putty knife to help scrape grease and gunk. As long as you don’t saturate the inside of the igniter tune you should be fine. With things like this just try to use good judgment but I’ve never had issues with cleaning my bowl and damaging anything.
TeeWay Eatz BBQ Treatz ok thank you but it doesn’t matter if water touches it I just never used propane ever in my life and this is probably the closest I’ll ever reach over to propane grilling lol
Mario, To my knowledge Weber in the United States does not offer a deflector plate for the Weber Kettle. They do offer it in the UK. I was interested in a deflector plate at one time and started researching it and that’s what I found out. The only grill that I know Weber makes a deflector plate in the United States for is the Weber Summit and that grill starts at $1500!! Thanks for watching!
@@TeeWayEatzBBQTreatz In my research I found out that the Weber Master-Touch Premium Charcoal Grill 22" is a new product and comes with the deflector and it starts at 319.00, not bad price, maybe you can review it as well. For sure I will buy it, I am already saving some bucks in order to get it and in the other hand I am waiting the labor day weekend sales and see if they come up with a good price. You can take a look to the grill here: www.weber.com/US/en/grills/charcoal-grills/master-touch-series/17301001.html?cgid=4#start=1
Absolutely, I’ve used my Weber rotisserie on it many times. I use my rotisserie more with my stand alone kettle but, you can definitely use it on the performer deluxe. Thanks for watching!
@Del so happy I could help. That’s what my channel is really all about. I know you will love this grill. The rotisserie attachment in my opinion is a must have. It’s so versatile and fun to cook on. I love my Weber toys.
Cliff, i have a Weber 22 Deluxe, we used it for the first time, and could not get the thing over 240 degrees. The book does not tell a lot of information like you gave. It says something about a bypass, but i do not understand what they are talking about. Will you please help me. We had the meat on the grill for over two hours, and had to take it off and finish cooking in the stove. I am so disgusted! Please, please, please tell me what the problem is!!!! Thank you, Kathy
Kathy, a lot of different variables to consider here. My first question would be, what were you cooking? Was your meat room temp or straight out of the fridge cold when you put it on the grill? That can affect cook times and take it longer for your grill to come up to temp. Most likely it was your vents. Open your bottom vent all the way and your top vent all the way when you first start cooking to get your grill roaring hot. You will have to play with your vents to lock in lower temps. It’s going to boil down to what temp your trying to cook at. If your smoking meat your going to want to stay in the 225-275 range. I find cracking my bottom vent to 1/4 open and top vent fully open keeps me in that range. Many factors contribute to temp control in your kettle such as the weather in your region such as humidity, warmer temps, cooler temps. Also, how much charcoal are you using? More fuel the hotter your kettle will burn or longer it will take for fuel to burn out which helps on long smokes. I hope this helps somewhat. Thanks so much for watching!
@@TeeWayEatzBBQTreatz We were cooking hamburgers, and chicken, at room temperature. The bottom dampers were open, and the top. The book talks about having a bypass where the gas is not able to get pass the metal ball. It was started wrong to begin with, (so it says) and gas lines will have to be taken apart and put back. They say it is easy, but not for me. I will have to read again and try. Thank you so much for trying to help me. I always loved charcoal grills, but wish i this point i would have bought a plain old cheap one! I wish you were at my house to fix my problem. I love your video.
Kathy Hall just clear out the air a bit heat control will not have anything to do with the propane on your charcoal Webber , what kind of charcoal did you use also where they ash white ready for cook? Side note : high heat vents should be open all the way at the bottom ,do not place the lid yet until you start feeling the charcoal getting hotter once you see it’s getting really hot put the lid on with the vent half open
Most of the components are “sourced globally” meaning most of the parts are made in China. Weber headquarters is based out of Illinois but most of their grill parts are not made in the USA.
man, no shame in paying money for that cart. If you can build your own, cool. But for an extra $200 or so over the master touch, having an integrated starter and charcoal basket... How much "money" could you really save trying to build your own? But that's coming from a guy who doesn't have the garage tools to build his own cart LOL. I'd have to go buy $1000 worth of carpentry equipment first.
Stan_spinkle, I agree. Building a quality table is well worth it. Provided you have what you need, time, space to do it. I thought the table was a nice addition and I would have most likely spent $60-$75 in wood and screws, plus my time. It would be a fun project. At the time of purchase I was looking for something ready to go out of the box and I think a lot of people will be looking for something ready to go after unpacking and assembly ready to grill on. This unit totally packs that punch and for a metal cart is definitely sturdy enough for all your grilling needs. I love this unit and I own several other grills including a ceramic, and pellet grill. This is easily becoming my favorite grill. I’m glad you found this video helpful. Thanks for watching!
Rob, I own both a pellet and weber. Hands down love my weber more. Pellet grills are convenient I'll say that. However, flavor profiles the two grills produce are completely different. I will agree the prices are high. Then again I paid around $600 for my pellet grill which I feel was pricey for it especially considering I rarely use it. I'd take the weber over it any day. I do realize it's in the eye of the beholder. To some the pellet grill is way more appealing and others charcoal is. Charcoal fits my lifestyle and what I'm looking for in the flavor of my food. Everything is pricey right now but I'd spend $600 on a weber deluxe in lieu of a pellet grill. That's me though. Thanks for watching!
Pellet grills aren't for everyone, especially serious grillers/pitmasters. The flavor profiles created by charcoal and wood chunks far exceeds anything a pellet grill can produce.

Michael,
The chimney in this video was weber’s half chimney.
Michael,
You don’t necessarily need to buy a half chimney. You could buy a regular size and do half. I accidentally bought the wrong size online and then bought the big one later and that’s why I have both a half and a full size. Never a bad thing to have two chimneys on hand. Good question though. I had a lot of the same questions when I was starting out. Glad to help!
So if I want to clean the bowl with soap and water will it hurt the tube that runs inside it ?
I would use an oven cleaner like easy off. You can use soap and water and a sponge/putty knife to help scrape grease and gunk. As long as you don’t saturate the inside of the igniter tune you should be fine. With things like this just try to use good judgment but I’ve never had issues with cleaning my bowl and damaging anything.
TeeWay Eatz BBQ Treatz ok thank you but it doesn’t matter if water touches it I just never used propane ever in my life and this is probably the closest I’ll ever reach over to propane grilling lol
If you want another toy Try long Stir Grills
The gray hubb caps chip and break I hate them
By any chance, do you know where can I get the heat deflector? I've searched in amazon and I don't find it. Thanks in advance
Mario,
To my knowledge Weber in the United States does not offer a deflector plate for the Weber Kettle.
You can take a look to the grill here:

Can you still use the rotisserie kit with this one correct?
Absolutely, I’ve used my Weber rotisserie on it many times. I use my rotisserie more with my stand alone kettle but, you can definitely use it on the performer deluxe. Thanks for watching!
@@TeeWayEatzBBQTreatz thank you sir!! I found my charcoal grill thanks to you!!
You got to have the bottom vents open for higher heat if it was closed then the heat is a lot lower
@@asaint The bottom vents were open. Book says something about bypass, we will have to try and figure that out. Thank you
@@TeeWayEatzBBQTreatz We were cooking hamburgers, and chicken, at room temperature.
Is it made in America?
Weber does most of their manufacturing in China. Their headquarters is in the states though. Thanks for watching!
Im envious
No need to be envious. You can find these fairly cheap on FB marketplace, Craigslist, etc. It’s a lot of fun to cook on for sure. Thanks for watching!
Sam's club has their own version on sale right now online $149
I've seen the member mark version. It's actually interesting looking. Maybe one day I'll snag one. Thanks for watching!
Is this made in the USA?
Most of the components are “sourced globally” meaning most of the parts are made in China. Weber headquarters is based out of Illinois but most of their grill parts are not made in the USA.

11:56 maybe if you line up the grates you wouldn't have such a problem 💩🤯
Bryant,
Your probably right, I was trying to hold my camera and fiddle with the grate at the same time. Thanks for the tip. Thanks for watching!
man, no shame in paying money for that cart.

Worth $200 tops. They are trying to get $600+ Laughable. Who would pay that when you can buy a pellet grill
@@TeeWayEatzBBQTreatz Fair enough. I paid around the same for my pellet grill. It's now msrp at 900. Yep, prices are crazy due to inflation.
Pellet grills aren't for everyone, especially serious grillers/pitmasters. The flavor profiles created by charcoal and wood chunks far exceeds anything a pellet grill can produce.
@@TeeWayEatzBBQTreatz You sold me on this - after searching for a video when I saw Guga Foods using it. Can't wait!
