- Fresh out of the box Weber Performer Deluxe, rare Slate Blue limited release. I reverse sear a wagyu tri tip from Snake River Farms. I show you how easy it is to grill an impressive but often over looked cut of beef. Keep it meaty folks!!
I turned 50 this year as well! got this grill for my birthday too!!!😁 I use the bin for trash, works great.
Bud you have the best Weber setup the meat turned out great !
Thanks, I love it!
This was helpful and well done thank you for showing it off. I am deciding between this or the non-deluxe and I appreciate your demo!
If it wasn't 1am I would go and cook myself a steak after watching your video. Thanks for this review.
I don't know about anyone else, but I don't mind when your videos run long. Your videos are always great.
Just ordered mine in green. Can’t wait to get it and make a video on it. Good job doing a description on it.
Hope you enjoy it!
I'm a big fan of Weber! I love this grill setup!
That’s just a beautiful n blue color!!! I would definitely get that color in a heartbeat!!! So great!!
Just bought this grill and was looking for a review. Clicked the first video I saw here!
Man that's a nice grill. I like the starter tip also...you guys ROCK!!!
Just got this grill. Very helpful video it’s my first charcoal. Thank you
this performer is a thing of beauty, let me tell you! congrats on your 50th!
Thank you!
Great review and you have a killer back yard.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the upload now I know which grill to get.
Great looking tri tip! Well done! 👍
Great video! just got me a new to me performer and will now have to smoke a tri tip thanks to your awesome video. Love me some tri tip and santa maria style beans! Keep Grillin' and Chillin' !
Welcome to the club! My first was a new to me performer off Craig's List, now I have 11 Webers haha. Enjoy!
@@bbqguy8752 just a few huh! Lol 😆
Great video and very nice review of the Weber
I really enjoyed your video , keep giving hints and tricks that Tri-Tip steak looked perfect
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved your video and I really like your style. Well, done!
appreciate your efforts showing us this thing, a real game changer it seems!
You're a really nice guy, thanks for sharing! Very useful video
Old guys UNITE.
Living Well!
Grill On Brother from another Mother.
I just bought mine from Crate and Barrel, boy, trying to get that box to fit in the back of my Hyundai Sonata was tough, I love my grill. If you are a box nut, yeah OCD, their boxing is world-class.
I was surprised at the boxing as well...I picked mine up at Crate and Barrel. Luckily I have a big truck haha
Wow great video. Nothing fancy. Just straight to the damn point. Love it
2:20 in and paused just to commend you for not going to get propane bc it wasn't essential lol. Not to say that I did or did not ascribe to such practices. Just wanted to take a sec to say I noticed and appreciated how considerate you were of your community and your friend that's new to charcoal grilling. Bravo. Excited to watch the rest. I'm between this grill and the spark grill. The spark grill seems a bit much price and function wise
Ja boi troi! Lol
Are you listening to music while shooting a video?
Rules for making videos:
#5. Don't listen to music while shooting a video.
And thank you, great video.
Hey great review I just watched this, great review love these performer Webber grills.
Thanks for helping me build and fire up my new grill! I'm hooked on your videos!
so pristine! can't stop looking at it haha 😋
Love my performer feels so much safer using the gas assist vs a chimney especially on a deck
Thanks for taking the time 👍
Thank you for sharing i bought one for my spouse and will share your thoughts with him.
I was thinking you can add wood chips along with the charcoal. It look pretty easy to use. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video. I'm getting one of those very soon.
omg! the weber performer! what a classic! only heard about it in fairy tales until now :-))
the autolight function really comes in handy. ah I see you filmed this during lockdown. stay stafe guys!
Just received the Weber Performance for Fathers Day
Looking forward in trying it out.
I’ve never used Charcoal BBQ before
Takes a little practice but once you get it dialed you'll never go back. Read about the snake method and look into getting a Slow n Sear. I haven't touched my gas grill in over 2 years haha. Good luck!
Awesome review. Thanks, now I'm hungry
Oh yes, target clearance!!😍😍😍 That BBQ light came from there as well!
very well presented, got some pretty good insights out of this being a complete newbie and so..., thanks! :)
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! thanks for the info...very interesting....😊👌👍
Love the Weber collection! Wouldn’t mind a vid of all of them. Here’s a sub for ya, see what other vids you have coming. Good luck with the channel👍
Great video boss! Where did you get that sear basket?
Look up Slow n Sear for Weber 22” on Amazon...I use it quite often!
@@bbqguy8752 thanks!
Excellent video! I just subscribed to your channel!
Thanks for the sub!
you got a nice garden, perfect for BBQ!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for sharing just got mine today.
DUDE! You saved me...thank you so much!!
nicely done!!!
Thanks!
Hey thanks. This is exactly what I came here to see.
Which would be the best for solo bbq? Weber go anywhere grill or the smokey joe?
Hey great vid. I just bought a house, new to smoking and want something that’ll last a long time. I’m in between this exact Weber Performer and the Masterbuilt Gravity 800 which looks like you also have. If you had to choose one, which one would you go with? Thanks!
You can't go wrong with a Weber but there is a learning curve. You will want a Slow n Sear basket for indirect heat cooking/smoking. The beauty of the Weber is you can use it for direct heat cooking (steaks, burgers, fish) or you can use it for indirect (ribs, pork butt, etc.). It's not quite big enough to smoke a full packer brisket though. I think everyone should have a Weber Kettle in their arsenal. The MB 800 is an easy to use "set it and forget" for the most part but has some reliability issues. It sure does put out a nice flavor. Be sure to get the cover if you do buy one, the electronics seem to crap out pretty easily and the lid switches melt pretty easily. Depending on budget, a great first time smoker would be a Reqtec, Traeger or Pit Boss pellet grill. Good luck!
Super helpful thank you!!
Nice video. Can you remember the timings for this, how long did it take to reach 100 and then how long did the sear last? Thanks
It took about 45 mins to reach 100 IT, I'll remember to post timing on my next videos...great idea! Thx
Does adding cherry wood chunks into the chimney when burning the charcoal actually work - I’ve never seen anybody do that before? Chunks are always added to the grill when the charcoal is already in the baskets?
I want thin blue smoke, not billowing smoke. That’s how you get the best flavor. If you get the wood red hot, you get that thin blue smoke. You can still ad wood as needed for longer cooks. But this method works great for me!
@@bbqguy8752 Nice one - definitely gonna give that a go on my next cook. 👍🏼
I was wondering how to use the gas ignition. Do you use it?
It's very simple. I like to put my chimney over the igniter and then you just push the ignite button. I come back 10 mins later and all my coals are nice and hot :)
Got one of these grills last month, love it. Nice review video, but you gotta learn how to cut tri tip my man :)
I've heard that a lot haha! Someone sent me a nice pic that shows me the how to
"If you're lookin, you ain't cookin!!!!" LOL
True dat!
Looks good.
I think the slate blue is the only other color I like on kettles besides black.
The tritip looked good but I noticed you sliced with the grain. 😬 Was that an accident?
The Mad Swine Backyard Barbeque yeah bro, I never slice my tri tip the right way, people tell me all the time haha! I’ve gotta try it the “correct” way sometime
@@bbqguy8752 🤣 That's what extreme hunger can do to you! I've been there!
@@madswinebbq no doubt haha!
I can see Angel wheeling this away with all the meat in it :D
Was this a special order for this color?
_siskooo_ Frank crate and barrel only ones that carry this color
It’s not just a timer, it’s a fire igniter!
The point I was making is that a timer is irrelevant on a grill. You cook/smoke to temp and feel, not time. A thermo would of been a much better idea in that space than a timer. Thanks for the comment, keep it meaty!!
Juicy !
I own a 22' Weber can l just purchase a preformer table?
a charcoal grill is the way to go if you wanna get your food cooked 👍❤😎
What model ink bird? Bluetooth or WiFi?
I like the WiFi better personally. My grills are pretty far from the kitchen so I would be out of bluetooth range when I was going back and forth. I think both are great, but consider if you will have range issues with either you WiFi or bluetooth depending on how far your grills are from you phone or router. Happy grilling!
Typically how long does a can of gas last?
It usually last me 20-30 cooks, I only burn it for around 4-5 mins to get the charcoal rolling
Spray grate with canola oil
Good idea, I'll have to give that a shot!
Which Inkbird model is that?
It's the I-BBQ4T has WiFi, which works best for me...I like to monitor from anywhere and the BT doesn't let me do that. Good luck!
I see that you already own another Performer when I bought mine my wife ask me if this will be my last BBQ that I am going to buy, I said sheepishly maybe.
I have 11 now :)
@@bbqguy8752 My wife thinks that I am nuts, what do you do with 11?
@@Moondoggy1941 Grill amazing food of course haha! Each of them are for something different (that's how I justify it). One is set up for my rotisserie, one is set up with the pizza Q, one is for hot an fast, one is for low and slow, one is a 1972 brown mist that has never been used, one is my travel grill, one is a rotisserie travel grill, the rest just look really cool lol! I'm a novice collector, I know guys that have over 30!!
Don’t see what the propane is for if your using a chimney?
Some people use the auto light to light the chimney. Honestly, I just used fire cubes. I never hooked the propane up
holy smokes, that charcoal got red hot in notime, whew
I'm already starting to get hungry for some meat, and it's only breakfast time hehe
3:30 subscribed
Have you tried grilling pizza on it?
soon!
Forgot to burn factory oils and debris
Enjoy that healthy meal
Thx for the pro tip! Never had a problem with my 11 other Webers...still alive and kicking and eating amazing bbq. But thanks again!!
Sounds like you're listening to Lithium
The new Weber ash dump/dampener (3 armed star at the bottom)design is garbage if you use lump charcoal. The small bits of charcoal get under it and bend the cheap/thin gauge metal up so you cant control the temp without disassembling the grill and bend them back down. It's pointless. $160 down the tubes. Hate it. Cant wait to sell it.
Try using Weber briquettes....it's really not set up for lump unless you use a Slow N Sear or a Vortex.
@@bbqguy8752 well had they not advertised you can use lump I never would have bought it. It's gone now. Bought a real grill for lump, Masterbuilt 560. Best grill I've owned in 20yrs.
@@xwoods9625 Nice! I have have 11 grills and they all serve a diff purpose. I use lump in my stick burner and my WSCG, love the flavor lump gives! Have you tried pressed coconut charcoal?
Sear first
Well, then it wouldn’t be a REVERSE sear haha
Cremated..
Great looking tri tip! Well done! 👍
