Hi Biffa, few fixes: 33:56 - noone is gonna use this bus, because it's not connected with a path to the new area and they can't cross the toll booth, same thing happened to the monorail on no problem at all 34:22 - you still haven't put a train stop to this area The new bridge looks GREAT! Thanks Biffa for uploading new videos!
Jakub is correct about the toll booth. It is meant for the highways so therefore does not have pedestrian access, which means no one will walk into the new area, certainly not via the toll booth.
With the airport relatively close by, a ferry shuttle to and from the airport to this destination would be fabulous. Get the casino in there together with some mix of leisure and tourism specialisation and the area will be booming in no time! Also, bus lines to both train stations shuttling back and forth should help too!
24:52 you always use these two level quay walls but never use the staircase sections to allow people to walk down and up from the lower sections, with the mods you use you could put a cycle path on top of the lower section or a really nice footpath... enjoyable video as always.
@Ftiles7 that would make the acronym ITTea! Also, Gravity Falls would be a good name for the elevator as an explicit tongue and cheek joke to what’s actually happening
If the moon city is called Tranquilitea Base then this elevator must be Tranquilitea Transfer Station, with the area being Tranquilitea Park. And we get a crossover series 🙂 We can watch Hugo board the elevator here and step out on the Moon!
Yeah, I'm not sure people realise that it works underground too (it's a little clumsy for that), but if you're putting a tunnel under a mountain, it helps ensure that the tunnel goes *straight* under the mountain, instead of attempting to follow the terrain 20m down from the surface.
great video as always biffa! the bus line probably wont work as the sims aren't able to walk through the toll gate! you could add a park gate and path so you can still charge the pedestrians to enter the area.
If you put the bus stop in your new touristy area on the way out of the side road instead of the way in, you can line up excess busses in the turn-around instead of the main road.
Or on the other side where you drive out .. maybe add a pay port for pedestrians at the bus stop? They cant walk through the tollbooth. 😊. That is the same for the tech area with the monorail-stop , they cant get it by walking.
I'm with you on the parallel tool in the Network Multi-tool. I use that so much to put in roadside paths and fences. Not sure if the multi-tool could ever replace TMPE in terms of importance but it's making a great case for itself.
i have a couple suggestions for the new tourism area. - why not putting the arc de triomphe on the opposite side of the junction where the plaza is? this would make a great entrance to your amusement park and prevents people to walk and stand all over your main road. (also it gets rid of that weird surface overlay on the road) - your quay walls could need some hight adjustment as there are bits where the lower level is submerged. and as already mentioned in another comment, why not adding some stairs so people can actually use the lower level? - you should make a path for the visitors comming in by bus. if i remember correctly the toll both does not come with a sidewalk - lastly i would add some more connections to this area. either a highway exit and/or a road/pedestrian connection to the residential area to the right. oh and you have some pooling going on.. 35:20 great series!
As Las Vegas has a lot of famous landmarks as replicas and is a tourist destination as well, you could name the area of the city "Las Teagas"! Also two remarks concerning the bus connection: 1. if you put the bus stop on the other side going out of the road, they will not get in the way of traffic on the main road. 2. More importantly: people will most likely not take the bus because they've got nowhere to go. Pedestrians can't walk around the toll booths, so there's no way to walk into the area.
At @22:00 you need to either use an elevated road or bob to get the effect you want. Also you should consider some form of internal transportation like trams for that area and you can say it’s like a sightseeing tram tours or something
Yeah, not sure if the approaches need to be bridge segments or just redrawn entirely to make it work, but it looks really weird with no support for all that distance
At the beginning of the series, you've built a cable car connection over the mountain. It would be really interesting, how often it's used by those lovely people.
Still loving this series Biffa! I was just about comment on picking the wrong metro line but you beat me to it! Loving your British series especially. From your last episode I think you need to change the ‘right’ node as you look at it at 08:06 to ‘go straight through’. Might solve your traffic!!
Biffa @ 14:00 you are probably thinking of "The World's Fair". Could name the new area "Teas a small world" keeping with the disney theme. You know this also might be a great place to put your Alien rock garden. Would get a lot more tourists.
The traffic keeps going because they continue to follow their predetermined designated routes they started elsewhere on the map. The traffic on the other side probably started their routes after you placed the bridge.
It doesn't happen very often I keep watching a city so far into the game, because usually it's rinse and repeat. But you have found a way to keep it interesting somehow! I love what has happened this episode ♥
35:55 looks like one of the roads on the roundabout are missing their right turn arrow. It might just be a graphical glitch but maybe worth looking into :)
Biffa, just a quick mention, pedestrians can't use toll roads so you might want to put a path from the bus stop into the new tourist area. (I only found out about this recently despite it saying so on the tool tip 😅).
Yeah, they're intended for highway roads, so no footpaths. Biffa keeps using them as security checkpoints or ticket gates, but while they look the part, they do prevent pedestrian access.
I recently found an amazing function of Network Extension tool: use it to connect metro stops, using the Create Curve, Loop, or Connection option, whichever looks better. It makes very smooth and auto-sloped connections between metro stops, I'll never go back to doing it manually!
1-) You should give a good walking path to the bus passengers so that they can enter inside easily 2-) You should make an arrangement about the route of the fishing boats. They keep crushing to the garden😊 3-) It's a wonderful area again and my name suggestion is "WONDERTEA"
there's an option in the TMPE settings to have it automatically create the dedicated turning lanes! I'd recommend turning it on, it saves me a ton of headaches personally
Loved the lifting bridge madness! You may be able to remove the tiling from the Arc by using BOB... A name? *Celesteal* Park and you could level the underground line by simply clicking the node before it goes under the mountains and then select all the way to the other side and setting them all to the same "height" (i.e. depth). It may make those slow _High_ _Capacity_ metro trains run faster too...
With l'Arc de Triomphe, elevate the road under it to get it go over the pavement. Love the episode, Biffa. I used to live close the Shanghai, and I can say that your Pearl of the Orient is a lot more visible than the actual one. Shanghai has too many tall buildings for any one of them to stand out like that. :D
Biffa, you should move the Metro Station into a Park area so that you can add a gate and make them pay to get onto the Metro. Also add a Gate Entrance by the Bus stop as well. More Money! 👍👍
Dearest Biffa, loved the episode, New Tealand FTW! ...However, it is still missing a passenger harbour terminal. And now with the bridges mod, that could give you a possibility to add another one of those fancy bridges.
Hats off to the greatest builder of cities skylines. One suggestion I would like to add is give direct access from airport via airport express metros. I think it would be perfect if you could run a line from new area to airport and then to metro junction.
How about a low density area of mansions built into the mountainside with very narrow, meandering roads right behind that new area? I think that would fit in there perfectly!
Having a metro to Tearantula Station makes sense - but it is going across the island without any intermediate stop. Maybe you could add one for transfer opportunities to those areas that could be reached via more direct connections. For some Tearantula means quite a detour ...
A little storytime on the bridges. The bridge you couldn't pronounce the name of, the Koninginnebrug, is Queen's bridge in English. As it states in the description, you can find that bridge in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. The bridge you put in, the Hefbrug, also has a real life counterpart in Rotterdam. Basically the name translates to lifting bridge in English. Typically for the people of Rotterdam they decided to just name the bridge de Hef aka the Lift. Rotterdam has a firm connection with the military and the Marine Corps in particular. They use the bridge to train several climbing skills, like rappel from the towers and cat crawling over a rope between the two towers.
I love the new area. How about having a above ground metro station? I think it would add something to the area, and the above ground metro could even stay this way until it hits the p.g. tips.
The vertical lift bridges looks like the one in Houghton, MI, USA. Double Decker, originally had road on top rail on the bottom. Rail has since been removed and is used for snowmobiles
nice. 4:55 i think that bridge was meant to flip like Tower Bridge, which is why they stopped only on the one side. sadly not many up-voted my earlier comment about Tower Bridge because they thought it should've been called London Bridge. lol
with the metro going through the mountains I have always just highlighted all the nodes with move-it and set them at the same height as a regular node before they start to incline.
Biffa, I don't know if anyone suggested this yet. I think the bus stop should be moved to the other side of the road so the buses don't have their back ends sticking into the road behind them and the riders won't have to cross the street.
Not sure if anyone else mentioned it or not, but one of your Park Pathways comes all the way up to your road WITHOUT a side gate. So people could bypass the main park entrance and get in for free if they wanted to
Looks like you'll need a walking path from the bus stop around the toll booths because IIRC, pedestrians can't walk through toll booth segments. That will allow people to actually use the bus to get to the new touristy area.
If you put a park entrance and build the roads in such a way they have to pass through the park to get to the metro, you will make a lot of money... You did that many episodes ago i think on another map.
Biffa you made my day, since after the last New Tealand episode I thought of the movable bridges as well 🎉. And don't forget you cam change the trees on streets as well as the amusement park paths as well since the Airports DLC update.
You could move the bus station to the other side coming out of tourist area, so the bendy busses don't pile up at the road. Also, put in a path so passengers can walk into the area from the bus station.
Biffa. The tourist area would be perfect for walking tours considering every is so close. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you use a walking tour in any of your videos!
The flickering textures is called Z-buffer fighting. This is caused by two meshes being too close and the video card being unable to render both meshes and textures at the same time which it can't. This causes the video card to display one surface then switch to the next surface causing the flicker. The solution for this issue is to raise or lower one of the surfaces a pixel or two, a millimeter or to usually does it. I run into this often with another simulator I use when placing roads on top of one another and with the night-mesh on buildings which is used to light up windows at night.
4:54 I think the problem might be that you need to use one either side, since they stop at one end but not at the part that would be in the middle if you used two if that makes sense
thought the same, but at the same time the bridge is modelled with traffic lights and barriers on both sides, it should stop traffic both ways, however it would look better i think if it was a double bridge opening opposite ways, not sure if they can be built against each other that way, or need a bit of road to connect between them in the middle.
The original bridge remind me of the rainbow bridge in Bridge City TX( look it up, was quite the terrifying thing when it was bi directional), or the bridge over the ICW in Sabine Pass, TX. One of thosenlift section Bridges is still in operation on the union pacific tracks over the Neches river in Beaumont TX btw.
Seeing the way the predominant architecture is shaped, the new tourism area could be called: Pointea Park Which is also totally advocating for the Eiffel Tower to just add to the... ehm... splendour, surely!
8:11 that lift bridge is definitely a double decker - traffic goes one way on the top layer and the other way on the other layer. Unfortunately CS does not like building roads like that
Instead of trying to make people drive through the toll booth, you should have an amusement park side gate at the bus stop. They will have a reason to get off the bus there and the people will pay more to walk through than driving. I though you were the master at that hack Biffa!
Lovely as always. Would have been cool to see a cable car system from the new area to that ferry/bus terminal but I understand the bus need. Lol. Per the wall, doesn't that have a path built into both levels? (Making the second one redundent?). Lastly, that one floating building for the zoo area would look fantastic in the new area.
thank you biffa for finding that mod for me :D ... underneath might be prepared for a traintrack... usually those bridges have both, train and gummi wheeled traffic... or for maintanance ... you could lift that bridge just for the underneath platform, put your workers on it and lower it again .... :D Seeing that lift bridge mod, i am waiting for the Niederfinow Boat Lift as asset for ships :D
Just curious but have you seen train tracks that lift up and down? Imagine a track crossing a bridge that's detachable. Now when they come back down if it's off you get a train derailment. Not only that but you ow have a train in the water and a damaged bridge. This is why tracks are fixed in most places. Trains go either above or below the water on fixed tacks. It's another road, possibly a bike/pedestrian path. Train tracks usually have their own bridge and they don't move. I have driven over moving bridges a lot in my lifetime. IRL there's an aboveground highway and an underground tunnel leading to a bridge. The two meet at the bridge and cross together then separate at the end, usually with exits before and after the bridge but only on one side each way. This way you force people to pay a toll to cross the bridge.
The Tower of Babylon reached to the heavens and was a ziggurat; here we have a ziggurat and a tower that reaches not just to heaven but beyond the heavens. Also, this ziggurat has gardens, and there used to be the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, so: Babylon of the Tea or Teabylon seems appropriate. Also, that raising bridge, when you upgraded to the the road, it removed the pillars of the bridge, so the whole road seems to be floating, you need to put some manual pillars/supports in there.
Love it! You could try "BOBing" out the tiles on the Arc de Triomphe & just place them back in around the road. Also, the spacey stuff made me think of SciFi, so how about SciChai Park? :@)
I like doing my subways in loops and to handle the space elevator I typically have a minimum of 2 subway loops drop off right next to the elevator so it becomes like a central hub for my subway system.
on the follow cam with the bus we saw the old original industry area which seems to have sunken below the water level lol :) Ace video as per Mister Biffa! Love New Tealand!
These are amazing and I'm loving them! Curious if there have been any more bridges created in the last several years like a swinging bridge for instance? Or for rail! That would be especially amazing. Thanks!
The real life version of lift bridge model is in fact built for two separate layers of roads or street and in fact its for the different directions one way from each end but another copy of the bridge serves for two different highways or motorways
Add a park entrance gate near the space tower and move the metro back enough to add a path to connect it. The metro can then be upgraded to one that looks nice for that aria.
Still powering through the series and I'll be honest, wee bit gutted that the super steep bridge at 1:40 with it's proximity to the Asian area of New Teland went. It always reminded me of the Eshima Ohashi Bridge in Japan, I could just picture Hugo trying to cycle up it! But progess must be made for the Tea must flow. Edit - Also, a good excuse for any future steep bridges, haha Edit2 - Mass murder of minerals!! 22:39 Biffa, the police have been alerted, alien rock park is on lockdown. #Stoneshaverightstoo
You'll need to add an amusement park gate over by the bendy-bus drop off. The toll booth does not have a sidewalk or a means of a pedestrian getting to and from the bus stop.
Love the bridge add ons wish they made all mods for xbox it really brings your city to life. I'm a mega biffa fan u got me into skylines now I'm obssed lol

LOL, at 31:13 you opened up a path to get in the park for free
The Space Elevatea
Very nice
Hey Biffa,
You should add hotels and casinos to the new area and call it “Las Teagas” :)
The lift bridge reminded me of the Claiborne Avenue Bridge in New Orleans. The one Biffa used is also in Two Dollars Twenty's Mile Bay build.
Seeing the way the predominant architecture is shaped, the new tourism area could be called:
Pointea Park
Which is also totally advocating for the Eiffel Tower to just add to the... ehm... splendour, surely!
I love the new bridge ideas
Thank you for your channel and showing us new things
Once I get my game working again I'll be sure to use the lift bridges
Gotta name that tourist district, " The Galaxtea District."
That first bridge is Pegasus Bridge that ... nearly. Those mountain textures are excellent
Thanks for the wonderful content. The bus stop you put in with the roundabout wont work because pedestrians cant walk through the toll booths
The shot right at the end with those biodomes kinda reminds me of Gardens By the Bay, Singapore.
Lift bridge's lower deck is likely for rail.
thank you biffa for finding that mod for me :D ... underneath might be prepared for a traintrack... usually those bridges have both, train and gummi wheeled traffic...
or for maintanance ... you could lift that bridge just for the underneath platform, put your workers on it and lower it again .... :D
Seeing that lift bridge mod, i am waiting for the Niederfinow Boat Lift as asset for ships :D
Also, this ziggurat has gardens, and there used to be the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, so:
Babylon of the Tea
or
Teabylon
seems appropriate.
Altea Towers. A combination of tourist architecture with the space elevator and Pearl tower, as well as amusement rides.
The lift bridge is probably the coolest mod I’ve seen in awhile.
In Sydney they have an amusement park like this called Luna Park, love this series
Since the path on the coastline is a park you can join it to the bus stop, with a park gate, so people would pay anyway
Came to comment section tu suggest the same. Side gate to the bus stop, ppl don't need to pull a car from their pocket to get to Space Odditea.
on the follow cam with the bus we saw the old original industry area which seems to have sunken below the water level lol :) Ace video as per Mister Biffa! Love New Tealand!
These are amazing and I'm loving them!
Curious if there have been any more bridges created in the last several years like a swinging bridge for instance? Or for rail! That would be especially amazing.
Thanks!
I love those movable bridges. They make all the difference.
The real life version of lift bridge model is in fact built for two separate layers of roads or street and in fact its for the different directions one way from each end but another copy of the bridge serves for two different highways or motorways
I suggest the name "The EnTeaprise Memorial Park for your new tourist trap area :)
Add a park entrance gate near the space tower and move the metro back enough to add a path to connect it. The metro can then be upgraded to one that looks nice for that aria.
for the arc you could either elevate the road or you could try using the surface painting remover tool
Edit - Also, a good excuse for any future steep bridges, haha
Edit2 - Mass murder of minerals!!
Biffa, the arc de triomphe goes in the middle of a huge roundabout. I think there's an opportunity there.
Hey Biffa,
Call the new area 'Area Four-Tea-Two', a little Douglas Adams and Space reference.
Use a park area as a way to charge pedestrians entering via bus or metro, you could set up a small pay gate they have to walk through that way.
The under road maybe for road maintenance vehicles to work on the road from underneath.
Love this series, can’t wait to get cities skylines when I get my new pc
