The worst thing about the trailing missions is that because your character walks slightly faster then everybody else, you have to stop every 2 milliseconds. Edit: Assassin’s creed still sucks
Look guys im sorry about my ignorance i didn't accept the fact that other people have their own opinions i still cringe on that comment i had a year ago.
It's sad when you realize that the best parts of AC games like Black Flag are when they AREN'T acting like AC games and just let you do your thing, like being a pirate.
ben mcguire Ship stuff was more limited in 3 (it was there to test it's popularity for 4 imo) and you could hunt random animals in 4 as well, but it's mostly just a fun diversion. I wouldn't buy a whole game over just its hunting, and syndicate stole the gang mechanics from Saints Row. AC4 was best because it was the least AC of them all....
The worst trailing missions are the ones where the target moves a speed you are incapable of keeping. They go just slower than your max but not as slow as your walk. God I hate that.
constantly having to stop and go so it can look less awkward than just walking past as they're talking to you for 5+ minutes to the destination that you CANT SEE on the map because they are marked as the waypoint

@@dereksbooks In what universe is Assassin's Creed, any of the 13 main games or the plethora of spinoffs, even remotely close to Grand Theft Auto? Assassin's Creed, a game where you travel back in time to experience real historical events told in a fictional way. GTA, a game where you kill people and rob banks. Maybe I am too small brained to see the connection?
@@monkeyman100000 He said that the core mechanic is actually fun but it is filled with filler bullshit. It's just like what you said, when that epic moment actually hit it's amazing but again the filler is too much
@@anggaihza3074 Just waaay too much filler. But I think a problem outside of the game is that there are other stealth/action games with parkour/climbing, plenty of fun mechanics, but where AC fucks around doing a bunch of other shit to establish the plot for the next game to exist, plenty of other games with similar mechanics innovate and let you actually enjoy the core part of the game. They have mission after mission, sequence after sequence where it's just fun, figuring out the coolest way to complete tasks, which while you can do this in Assassin's Creed, you have to grind the story and bad missions to get to the fun stuff. AC2 was pretty good in this department because I liked Ezio and the characters are fun and human, at least when you are in the bed thing playing as Ezio they are and then even the boring parts aren't that nagging or bothersome. Anyway here is a short list of games with similar mechanics but more fun: Middle-earth: Shadow of War, The new Tomb Raider games, Aragami, Dishonored, Dying Light (kinda), pretty much all of the Hitman games, Uncharted, MGSV, Mirror's Edge, Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima, Splinter Cell, Mark of the Ninja. Not all of them are exactly similar or absolute 10/10 winners of games but I feel that all of these are better than AC games but have similar gameplay and are definitely of the same genre.
This is so true. The mechanics in these games are really cool and satisfying at times, but the only time I got to enjoy them while playing is when I completely ignored the story or any of the missions, and just ran around assassinating guards and doing parkour through the different environments. I never got far in any of the Assassin’s Creed games because progressing through the game was like being punished.
Yeah, it can be tough. The only ones I finished were 4 and Odyssey just because I liked the gameplay a lot, and the story in both of them was surprisingly good

I love ezios trilogy and 3 and 4 but I'm playing assassin's Creed 1 and lord it feels like a chore to get through the story I'm literally forcing myself to digest it out of my love for ezios trilogy.
I honestly think a big issue with the games is the whole animus/abstergo thing I hate it so much your being an assassin killing people sneaking around shooting people ranking up getting collectibles doing side missions. and then you have to wait 7 minutes or do a stupid sequence
I think Uncharted is a great example of railroading done right. It's practically an interactive action movie that feels exhilarating to watch and play, with compelling characters and a pretty ok plot. The setpieces they use are genuinely the best in the business, and add to the excitement. The fact you control Drake is probably the best part, because even though he's a fairly developed character, he's geniously generic enough that you can put yourself in HIS shoes, through your actions. Meanwhile Assassin's Creed makes you feel like you're just going through the motions, everything from the fighting and the trailing. At least in Uncharted when you're in a walking section, the characters will banter with each other and there's some merit with the gorgeous scenery.
@@samiullahsyed7545ameplay? Wait assassin's creed has gameplay? Pressing 🔴 when they are attacking you and then counterattack them one shotting everything! Also the hardest assassin's creed (except the RPG ones) is AC 1.
2:02 Back when we’d complain that an 18 hour campaign is too long. Now every big game has to be 70+ hours and you don’t even get to the fun part until 18 hours in
Assassin's creed is like dating some stunning and beautiful girl for the first time and after 30 minutes you start to notice she doesn't have brain at all
I never understood why Assassin's Creed had the Animus instead of just playing in the time period of the game. That would be 200 times more immersive and fun.
100% agreed, think there is a good game buried in them somewhere if you weren't getting ripped out of the immersion/fun every 5 seconds to go through an immensely dull trailing mission or animus section.
Not really. The Animus is what makes it special. It serves to explain and integrate the gameplay mechanics into the narrative. Without it, things like respawn, HUD, invisible walls, etc, wouldn't have any explanation (wich would take away the immersion), or it would be explain with fucking fantasy, something every other game does. Plus the modern day story is kinda interesting if you pay atention to it.
The thing that makes these games decent is the work and detail that goes into the worlds. The team actually does some research and tries to present each setting as accurately as possible, so it's fun running around these ancient cities from history and jumping along buildings and stuff. But as soon as you sink your teeth into the actual story and missions, it's boring as hell every time.
@@mechabeachyeah the places are beautiful..there is nothing u can do about that, only gameplay and missions are bad,the ac origins and Odyssey graphics are one of the most beautiful graphics

Yes! Im trying to play ACreed Unity right now, the city is lovely, graphics lightning, jumping and running around, but oh god... after i stop doing that and finally decide do the game main mission i instant close the game, its impossible not to get bored!
They took extra time and effort with origins you can tell. I'm not done yet but unless something goes terribly wrong this could be a good starting point for a revamped franchise
if you're just free roaming and doing parkour, the games are mostly fine. it's when you start watching the custcenes and playing the missions that you realise the game is just plain boring
I think it's pretty fun for a couple hours at a time. Then it gets boring because stealth; the main focus of the game, just feels like a suggestion when you can walk into any engagement and just tank everyone. I only have the rebel collection (black flag and rogue) and I'm happy with them because I don't think I could play one of the ones that doesn't break the monotony with awesome naval battles. I really like games that are really 2 games you can switch off playing when one gets monotonous. Bored of being an assassin? Go be a ship captain for awhile until you get bored of that, then go back to being an assassin. Brilliant.
You know the best thing about all this? In AC : Revelations, they put a new mechanic. You automatically follow your partner during expository dialogs. The Pedestrian's Creed....
The problem is that not all Assassin's Creed games have such a large emphasis on trailing segments and he's overgeneralizing how bad it can be in some titles. Rogue for example only has like one or two of them and they don't even take up the majority of the missions they're in.
First one I played was ACO. I just finished it and thought it was great, but the side missions were just something to stay my boredom. I probably won't be playing another since they all follow the same basic formula. It was just awesome to explore ancient Egypt for awhile though.
I was going to defend black flag because I had fun with it but then I realised that I could barely remember the main story and mainly just enjoyed running around for collectables. The only thing I can remember from the main story is that an unskipable cutscene started playing so I made myself a sandwich and then came back as the cutscene was finishing only to realise that there was going to be a brief walking section and then another unskipable cutscene
I think the pirate part was pretty cool as well, what was not cool was how they copy and pasted it to the next games without improving anything about it, wich can be said for the other aspects of the game as well.
The story is interesting though. If you get past the 35 min mark, give it a go. It gets pretty good with all the naval combat and pirate life. To this day, that game is unmatched in terms of story writing and character development if you compare it to the modern Ubisoft games.
@@J05TIThe historical aspect of it, the hidden blade, the lore. I also like Desmond and the Assassin's I actually think they're really cool. I'm just saying Dunkey makes valid criticisms. You're allowed to like Assassin's Creed and still watch Dunkey vids

@@J05TI everything dunkey said about ac series is pretty much valid. But the thing is after playing through all the AC games, there are so many fun gameplay and designs. The game still has fun but it's just loaded with mind boggling, boring ass gameplay. These days, I play AC because of the environment. The game at least attempt to recreate historical environment. Odyssey's open world was exciting. You get to fight mythical beasts which I only read in stories. Even in the dlc, I played through mind boggling, boring ass gameplay to explore Elysium and Atlantis and meet heroes I read about in mythologies in the underworld. Really there are great moments in this game. But with overloaded boring ass materials, I can understand why it's instantly a turn off. Still, I don't play any of series second time through because I would rather shoot myself. I can't imagine trying to grind in Odyssey a second time. Back when I was in my early twenties and didn't have a job, I marathoned several of the Assassins Creed games in a row. It was the Kenway Trilogy and Unity. As a teenager I was obsessed with the games and going into it again was exciting. But I ended up never wanting to play them again because it was all so TEDIOUS. Most of it was just collecting useless stuff and climbing viewpoints to collect more useless stuff on the map. The only actual thing of value in these games is the main story and a FEW of the side missions with occasionally good writing. For instance, AC3 has a few good (and one important) narrative homestead missions but most of them are the most trivial things. In its defense it does give the game more personality but the gameplay itself is really dull and boring. The combat looks cool as a beginner player but it becomes repetitive and effortless. Shadow of Mordor has a somewhat similar approach but the combat in that game is always fun and engaging. And once you have 100% completed these games there is absolutely nothing to go back to. After recently starting RDR2 and only getting 3 hours into it, I realized just how boring and lifeless the Assassin's Creed games really are. You are just marking useless objectives off the map and doing little else. It's a chore. Ubisoft games all feel like the bare minimum was applied. It's a big empty open world with a ton of useless collectibles and boring missions.
Well no you are very very very wrong. Assassins creed games are not tedious and the homestead missions in Assassins creed 3 are not trivial and it’s gameplay is not dull and boring and it’s combat is not repetitive and effortless and no assassins creed games are not boring and lifeless and it’s objectives and collectibles and stuffs are not useless and it’s open world is not empty and it’s missions are not boring. So I want to say that you are very very very wrong about assassins creed
@@Nooneishereonlyme You're not providing much of an argument by disagreeing with me. I do like some of these games but I have played and 100% them back to back multiple times. It DOES get tedious. They still do hold a special place in my heart for the story and characters, but you cannot tell me that the homestead mission where you wrangle pigs or break up a fight is meaningful or fun in anyway. Sure it adds some kindness to Connor and the homesteaders as characters, but from a game play perspective, it sucks. Same with half of Black Flag being tailing missions. You get exposition, but that's the entire purpose and it is too repetitive to feel fun after the first or second time. Compared to games like Red Dead with so much life and thought put into every little reaction, they are barebones. They do have nice easter eggs and the writing is good enough but the gameplay and NPCs feel like they lack something. The combat is "block, counter, repeat for chain kill". It looks cool but gets old fast and that's most of the combat. It's too easy and that's really the only pattern unless you use guns, knives, or darts. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy them from time to time, but they are objectively flawed with how repetitive the gameplay can be. They could have been even more.
What I never understood is why don't you just play as the assassins opposed to some dude in a machine reliving their ancestors memories what does that really add to the game. I guess you could argue it's a way to tie all the games together but personally I would prefer a game with one really well done story than have two weeker storys about the assassin and the guy who is reliving the assassins memories.
Well thats the whole point of the story, the people in the future are reliving past assassins from the creed, so they can rebuild it. Each ac game is a different person from the future, reliving the different creed members.
The point is to have an in-game explanation for why there's a health bar and all this other videogame stuff on the screen. They were trying to make gaming immersive. Lol
Assassin’s Creed does have a lot of repetitive content, but I’m the kind of person who doesn’t really mind that. My favorite AC game is Black Flag, despite the tailing missions. I can definitely understand why some people dislike it.
Right. I only got into the franchise recently. I am a rockstar fanboy. Only ever played Rockstar open worlds with the exception of a few games and black flag. But when I picked up AC origins it sparked up the historical side of me. Someone in the comments said AC has a little something for everyone. And I couldn't agree more. Obviously a game like red dead 2 is leagues ahead of any AC game. But AC has actually managed to peak my interest thanks to it's amazing historical accuracy and gameplay mechanics.
Average Alien I get that. The very first game a I played was GTA: Vice City, and I met a bunch of good friends through GTA 5. But AC/Hitman style games caught my attention because of stealth mechanics and clever ways to complete levels. Those kinds of games drastically reward you for exploring the area before you attack
@@theunbrokenlegion1709 True..The amount of freedom you get in missions is almost an opposite to the linear missions of rockstar games. Rockstar games play out like more of a cinematic movie with the added bonus of an open world to explore. AC games have basic storylines but you can do whatever you want within them. Also I forgot to mention Bayek is an amazing character
The crazy thing is, even though it felt like a tech demo at times for how empty the world was, I really vibed with the first assassin's creed. Sure it was stoic and boring but the main character had an arc and the conspiracies felt thought through and intelligent. Then we get to 2 and they like panicked and added 200 awful side missions, made the main character a sassy talk-backy guy while keeping everyone else boring, and slashed the story to ribbons so they could set up a million sequels. All they needed to do to was give us more people to kill.
I like Assassin's Creed on the paper and everytime a new trailer gets released, I get excited. But soon as I play any game of the series, I get bored almost immediately. Something about it is just so annoying. I bought Black Flag yesterday and after playing for about 20 minutes, I quit the game because it just felt boring.
To be fair.... Uncharted 4 did too. Haven't played that game that game yet, but it seems to do well, probably because it does not involve walking slowly behind someone for several hours.
+SuperBoxBeam Well if you actually were to watch a dude shittalk your favorite game for 5 minutes straight - i think most would leave a dislike xD I dont really think it's being oversensitive and/or asshurt, its probably pretty normal.. ;p
+Jenscarl Eschen my fav game is league and I don't care if it gets shittalked, I don't get why you are so butthurt over someones opinion and that opinion being the truth, the AC franchise is just milking money just like CoD for example
Thank god I'm not alone. I've been replaying ACII (I thought it was overhyped even back then) and could not for the life of me understand why it is still heralded as an S tier game. It's clunky. It's repetitive. It's more frustrating than it is fun. I've literally said out loud "I hate this game" numerous times as I was playing it before realizing how often I said it and ultimately put it down for good. The ONLY good thing about it is the music imo. That shit slaps.
I am having a blast with Black Flag right now. After the initial story set up in Havana (probably can be done very fast, but I spent maybe 2 hours with optional stuff) you get your pirate ship, crew and freedom to just go cause whatever havoc and upgrade your ship.
Holy fuck. The contrast between AC and Uncharted should make Ubisoft developers' balls fall off in embarrassment! Four more "copy, paste" bullshit releases since this video too.
This man is spitting facts Assassins Creed is super boring they just repeat the same thing over & over but just change the setting like the place the game is taking place or the time period.
Assassin's Creed is one of those franchises that I played as a kid because it was open world, had cool graphics and lets not lie, you would feel like a badass. Jumping on roofs, parkouring, it was really cool. But as I got older, I realised, holy shit these games are so damn boring. When you get older you lose some of that immersiveness and you cannot really get INTO the game as you used to before when you were younger, goofier, more naive, etc. I think many people can understand my point of view. I think these games are PERFECT for people who just got into video games and people still have that "kid" spirit. I'm not saying that people who enjoy these games are childish, I'm saying that you really have to be immersed into these games to enjoy them.
i dont think it has anything to do with growing up, but it's more about how many other video games have you played. I started gaming like 5 years ago, Assassins creed 2 and 4 are sum of my very first singleplayer games. The first time i experienced both of them, i was obsessed. But overtime i was exposed to more and more video games both older and newer than these two. After replaying them recently, i quickly realized at how shallow and boring ac actually is. The mechanics are just extremely simple, the level designs are laughable, the gameplay while had a neat original idea is poorly executed and extremely repetitive, buggy and unpolished mess n and of course, trailing mission. I think assassin creed is the embodiment of everything wrong with a lot of modern games. Trailing missions, lack of challenge, repetitiveness, lack of polish and more. I've played older games like halo, half life 1 n 2, classic gta trilogy, mario 64 and i had so much more fun than all of the assassins creed, even the ezio trilogy. They were fun games for your first playthrough but they didnt age quite well
@@JCDentonman You make a great point, but what i had in mind with "growing up" was because i am so familiar with games at that point, newer games don't seem to do it for me, they kinda feel repetitive. I kinda just miss the feeling when you play games without knowing what the heck you're doing. There are some games that definitely hold up and some that don't, nostalgia is kinda the thing that really shifts and it often lies I guess at the end of the day, it's entirely subjective. I just miss playing games the way i used to, but there definitely is value to playing games as a grown-up
Yep i know how you feel ,i used to be obssessed with this franchise cause of the badass designs and actions but it just gets repetitive really quick so now ubisoft is changing their formula to rpg and i can totally understand why they have to do that
I agree, which is why I think if they had just made 2 of them the novelty wouldn't have worn off as much and the legacy of Assassins Creed would be far different
How you know it has a bad story if you skip cutscenes that's why most games don't do that it's like you don't fucking pay attention to the story I mean I hate the story in assassin's creed but wtf
I will say, Assassin’s Creed has a really cool lore that I personally enjoy. But you’re right in terms of gameplay being hot doo doo water. I think that if they didn’t have Assassins Creed as a Fuckin’ annual game, and instead put a lot more thought into both crafting the plot and crafting the controls & gameplay overall, it would be a LOT better.
I had not played an Assassin’s Creed game till a buddy of mine gave me his copy of the first game since he had like a couple copies and it was fun for like the first maybe two or three hours, it took me quite a long while to actually bring myself to complete it and really after awhile, I just went around killing guards and civilians because I got bored of the story and missions
Everytime you buy assassins creed. The game automatically buys the next game in the franchise. That is solely the reason why I have 9 assassins creed games. If you dont believe me, then oobisoft has bugged your mind
I still think the AC odyssey is nutts, I like something new and out of place but not a completely different experience, they literally disappeared with the parkour stuff and it's more an RPG than an Hitory mixed with unreality, and knowledge.
One of the worst received because of a bad launch and glitches. Movement, parkour and stealth is smooth and badass, the world is beautiful and the story is great (in my opinion).
Yeah AC Unity is definitely the most underrated one. Main reason people hated it was because it had a few glitches at launch which mainly got patched out from what I’ve seen and played.

Again, when I was younger. Now I see the climbing a really boring thing to do. It's great you can scale these buildings, but it requires zero skill now. The ones that had the grasp mechanic requires a little skill. But then they took the mechanic away. So now you are at the mercy of the game with what you grab. The combat was flashy enough for a 10 year old, but it is painfully mediocre. Being precanned animation based and not hitbox based. With enemies waiting until you finished killing their allies With how origins climbing was layed out, I thought it was going to be like mirror's edge but with a grasp button. But nope. It's just super automated. They stream lined it but took away all the options you had in previous games, and I fuckin hate that. True the first games are more focused and marketed as 'social stealth' where hiding in plain sight around crowds/hiding spots is more effective than sneaking around so It makes stealth frustrating sometimes. I still love the early games especially the ezio trilogy for what it is
Well, for the early games I'd forgive them mostly because it's not needed. Stealth in AC isn't about crawling around a big enemy base with brain-dead guards who can't see human figures inside a bush, it's about hiding amongst the crowd and finding a quick and clean way to assassinate your target
I’m an AC fan and I agree with a lot of the criticisms. Honestly I never cared much for the Desmond plot or the “modern era” sections where the templars are trying to do shit. I also definitely agree that missions in certain games can get stale. However, I feel AC has tons of pros to. My personal favorite entries are black flag, AC2, unity, and origins. I feel those games all had pros that balanced their cons. Like with AC4 Edward was awesome, his story was great and developed, and the actual gameplay missions (not the stalking ones, god those suck) were very fun. AC as a franchise is one I feel has LOW lows, but also HIGH highs. It goes from one extreme to the next.
I come back to this video after every new AC game and god damn it Dunkey was just spitting facts. Got Valhalla with my ps5, 2 hours playtime and back in the box, RIP the glory days of brotherhood.
I was playing though AC4 recently and hated the real world sections with a passion. why am I here? I was being a pirate a few minutes ago. Why have I been taken away from BEING A PIRATE so I can... *checks notes* play a bad office sim. It's like playing dishonored then someone pausing the game for 30 minutes while they make you do someone else's taxes.
Take you of the immersion I know even though the real world story is not bad and it link games with each other like watch dogs and newer Assassin creed games but still is it necessary but the way I see it you are playing as pirate in the moment I am not in a simulation
Abdulla Yaser Exactly. It’s a fun game, but it’s whole story revolves around taking you out of the immersion. It’s flawed, and they need to abandon it.
Abdulla Yaser I agree, I don’t wanna know that nothing I do matters because it’s a simulation and focus on the story missions. My mans a pirate ima do wtf I want and collect stuff and do side missions
You know why it reverted to an office sim for the present story? Bc ppl complained about having Desmond nd the present day storyline so they killed him off nd now they have half the game it used to be. The lore and the story is what made it so unique compared to other games. The newer games still have amazing moments and gameplay but I dont care about the characters anymore bc the point of the original games is that the animus showed the ancestors life and let you experience it, the characters had actual depth to them instead of the later games. I miss what the series had with Desmond and my favorite assassin, ezio auditore da Firenze. But I still enjoy the extra effects and gameplay mechanics each new ac brings. Hopefully at some point a samurai assassins creed in feudal Japan. But pls never bring multiplayer back.
I had the same experience last year when I played it again. I can talk about the first time you get in as an argument that it was approved by a businessman to make more repetitions. However, it was constantly taking me away from the game just when I get deep into the story. I didn’t pay $60 to see some boring inside drama stuff which I don’t even care. When this happened the third time, it just killed my mood of playing it and I didn’t complete the game because of this. I remember it interrupting when I played first, but after this video and my reduced patience, I couldn’t bother to finish the game.
I was playing wild arms while listening to this in the background and the music at the start made me think my game was duplicating its sound or something
Spending 4.4 hours getting through the intro in AC3 in order to play as Connor, is what got me here. GOD i hated every minute except the combat missions, but again, i didn´t care, because i didn´t want to play as haytham, i had seen the story before, i don´t caaaare i just want to play adult connor and go blow shit up. Then I finally had it when i had climbed trees to get feathers, planted snares to kill animals (im vegan) then killed deers and finally when i did all that connors friend asks me "can we go back to the village now?" and my character just outright says "No we still need to gather more meat and pelts" FUUUUCK PING new missions, kill 5 deer, 3 foxes and 2 rabbits, OPTIONAL sneak up on 2 deer, OPTIONAL catch 2 deer with bare hands. Im like, BYE! I can´t believe i used to like this game. The story is okay, but if you really look at the way it plays out. You can make huge noise, blow up stuff, and 30 meters away none of the redcoats notice it. You can kill 5 people in a fort and steal their maps and they still carry out the plans without adapting to the guy whom obviously knows what they´re doing and has a plan to do some stuff. Also, the game kills you every single time you fail even a little bit, instead of making the gameplay adaptive. Oh shit i got seen, so i guess ill have to charge through to get to the character i need to assasinate? But no, "you failed, try again" how very fun.
To be honest, I am a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise. But man. I LOVED how you took a shit on this game. For real. It was funny and true and I really had a good laugh, even if I like the games. Kudos, man!

Coming back to these dunkey ac videos because I recently picked up the franchise starting with unity like a month ago. I wanted an explanation for why syndicate felt boring af, why ac 2 feels interesting but a little slow, and why unity was so much fun despite other people I know (and dont know) praising any ac game that wasnt unity. The fact that dunkey is calling out ac 2 for being mid has woke me up to an unfortunate reality: these games have different stories, but the same fuckin way to experience the stories. And unity was the only one that was unique in a way that actually played off of the stealth, combat and parkour in a way that was mutually benefitial. Arno was much more fun and immersive when playing as a badass rogue assassin following a conspiracy in the french revolution with a love interest of the opposite faction because the stealth and combat matched that. Parkour, stealth and combat were all refined with a versatile toolkit in a cluttered open world that was perfectly suited for parkour, the side missions were unique and interesting, the coop fit seamlessly into the lore, and despite its flaws it became a really fun experience for me. The flaws of Unity are all the ways its similar to the other games, and I'm unfortunately realizing what everyone else already knows: Ubisoft will never intentionally make a well designed game out of ac. They would much rather use the franchise to make completely unrelated historical action games because that leaves things open ended enough for them to utilize a massively over-selling franchise to follow extremely basic trends in open-world action gaming and monetize tf out of it. The french revolution just happened to be an extremely good setting to create an overly-dramatic action espionage parkour game. Unless they utilize similar settings throughout history, that likely wont happen again. I want that one in china to be fully fledged 3d game damnit.
The worst thing about the trailing missions is that because your character walks slightly faster then everybody else, you have to stop every 2 milliseconds.

It was good when the Desmond was alive....Ezio was directly related to Desmond...after Desmond death.. outside animus is screwed up
Not really. The Animus is what makes it special. It serves to explain and integrate the gameplay mechanics into the narrative.

My favorite part of Assassin's Creed Black Flag, is when it crashed during it's E3 Demo Reveal.
xBluegamerx it did? Thats awesome.
To be fair.... Uncharted 4 did too. Haven't played that game that game yet, but it seems to do well, probably because it does not involve walking slowly behind someone for several hours.
I mean, it's definitely polarizing........... kinda like assassin's creed. Think it's safe to say, I've lost my point.

Note to self: Don't call Assassin's Creed a good franchise in videogamedunky's house.

I agree, that's one of the crappy things about growing up.
Sometimes i wish i could just go back and experience videogames for the first time.
i dont think it has anything to do with growing up, but it's more about how many other video games have you played.
There are some games that definitely hold up and some that don't, nostalgia is kinda the thing that really shifts and it often lies
I guess at the end of the day, it's entirely subjective.
"Boring missions, repetitive gameplay, bad story, unskipable cutscenes"
9.5/10 it has a little something for everyone.
From assassin's Creed III there are skipable cutscenes.
Lol
How you know it has a bad story if you skip cutscenes that's why most games don't do that it's like you don't fucking pay attention to the story I mean I hate the story in assassin's creed but wtf

@@Jandos47 when playing this when I was younger, I was blown away by the climbing. I thought it was so cool you could climb these buildings. It meant it gave you so much freedom.
With enemies waiting until you finished killing their allies
With how origins climbing was layed out, I thought it was going to be like mirror's edge but with a grasp button. But nope. It's just super automated. They stream lined it but took away all the options you had in previous games, and I fuckin hate that. I wanted all the traversal options of brotherhood, but the intuative layout of mirror's edge
@@teneesh3376 How after they forced?
This is a stealth game franchise and in most of the games u can't even crouch.
Stealth games can be fun. This one is not
If you want a good stealth game I’d recommend Metal Gear.
Splinter Cell has good stealth
Got Valhalla with my ps5, 2 hours playtime and back in the box, RIP the glory days of brotherhood.

what makes a good stealth game?
I’m late af….but is that music from the Emperors New Grove video game I hear?!?!

I was playing wild arms while listening to this in the background and the music at the start made me think my game was duplicating its sound or something

GOD i hated every minute except the combat missions, but again, i didn´t care, because i didn´t want to play as haytham, i had seen the story before, i don´t caaaare i just want to play adult connor and go blow shit up.
Then I finally had it when i had climbed trees to get feathers, planted snares to kill animals (im vegan) then killed deers and finally when i did all that connors friend asks me "can we go back to the village now?" and my character just outright says "No we still need to gather more meat and pelts" FUUUUCK
PING new missions, kill 5 deer, 3 foxes and 2 rabbits, OPTIONAL sneak up on 2 deer, OPTIONAL catch 2 deer with bare hands.
I hated Assassin's Creed right from the beginning. Don't think I even played one hour and then brought it right back to the rental store. POS game.

Take that AC meat riders! Dunkey's videos no longer have dislikes!
