SKZ has great performers, visuals, rappers, producers, and vocals. They are even more powerful for having Felix’s unique voice with his Australian English accent and being able to use it for narration like this! That differentiates them from other Kpop groups!

@@olgadikaya2561 From what I understand it's kind of based on the story of the little mermaid? Humans have souls that live forever, but they only live physically for a short time. Mermaids (what I'm asssuming they're talking about) live for 300 years but don't have souls. The way I interpreted it is that they're humans that give up their soul (= lose their breath) to become mermaids to live longer? That's why there's so much water and pearl imagery and why we see them put their face in water and stare kind of contemplatingly/longingly at the sea. They're also torn up about whether this is the right decision, that's why we see Han for example look distressed with the washing machines (again water imagery). The reason I thought about the little mermaid is because she gave up her live in the sea to be with the man she loved, but if she couoldn't make him fall in love with her she would be unable to return to the sea unless she killed him or she would become seafoam. Plus that story was written for the authors (Hans Christian Andersen's) unrequited and impossible (very homophobic time) male love interest. So we have themes of unrequited love, self sacrifice and desperation. But again, this is just how I interpreted it from watching it twice so I could be completely wrong.
Felix's deep voice gives me insane chills. SKZ gets better and better with each era, seriously. I love these lost children, they are unique to me.

Okay so I am a literature major and honestly, this teaser video reminds me so much of the original Little Mermaid story. Basic story is this: she gave up her voice and her legs and when she walked it felt like walking on broken glass. But she did it because she wanted to gain a human soul since mermaids didn’t have them. The witch stipulated that she get the prince to fall in love with her but he ends up loving another woman. She will die and turn to sea foam the night of their wedding, but her sisters show up to give her a knife and tell her that if she kills both prince and his bride, she will become a mermaid again. Because the little mermaid loved the prince, she chose not to and flung herself into the sea and turned into sea foam. But the gods or whatever gave her a chance. She became a wind spirit and for three hundred years, if she did enough good deeds, the gods would give her a soul just like the humans.
0:08 “simply to become sea foam” mermaids lived for a long time and when they died, they turned into sea foam rather than having a soul that lives forever
0:11 “but humans, they have souls” the reason the little mermaid wanted to become human was to have a human soul

0:48 “Perhaps there may be no going back” the little mermaid knew she would never be able to be a mermaid again. She would either succeed and be human or she would die
0:53 “has this been land or sea” the imagery in these words?? Makes me think of the struggle to get to the surface as she’s transforming. But it also feels like she’s looking back at her experiences in land and sea and trying to decide which she preferred.
0:56 “it matters not” in the end, the little mermaid doesn’t stay on land or sea, but in the air
So all of this plus the different colors of their profile pics on X, Instagram, and RUclips that Stays guesses were the ocean layers and now Stray Kids dressing in pearls and with a heavy water theme…. I don’t know if the original little mermaid story was at all the inspiration for this teaser and the song, but I love the similarities so much
