@@AFGsultanZMirage is no where near a 7-8/10. It’s a 5/10 max. Story is garbage, Combat is very janky and not fluid at all, and the parkour is terrible as well. The only thing that’s good about Mirage is the stealth and the visuals.
It’s truly amazing how Ubisoft always remembers to give Dunkey a bad copy of their game so that way he can pay his bills, truly the Ubisoft moment of all time
Idk bro I played Black Flag, Odyssey and ACII recently and I think AC fans are just nostalgia blinded. All three are similar in quality. Gameplay was a bit more fun in Black Flag but apart from that, old AC is not what it's cracked up to be. A 12 year old finds assassins much cooler than a 22 year old.
@@trippinhard250I agree maybe back in 2007-2012 it was fine. For 2023 though the old AC games aren’t really that good. I still consider AC Brotherhood my favorite AC game. Yet I personally would rather play AC games like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. I like having multiple things to do instead of following a linear path. Mirage just isn’t that good of game as some people are making it out to be.
It's funny cuz there's a teleportation assassination that's stronger than the one in Odyssey. So they couldn't even stick to the "old school" AC gameplay
He's not teleporting. Basim was so fast that the animus glitches when it loads those parts of the memory. People seem to forget that these games are set in a simulated VR created feom degraded genetic menories and the player isn't seeing everything as it happened in the past. that’s because games have been in arrested development for about 10 years now. does Starfield or GoW or TLOU really feel “next gen” in their gameplay or is it just graphical fidelity
Yeah I was thinking back to basics like they were going to basically use the Parkour of Unity. And combat style of the older games and remove all the RPG bloat. But nah. Ubisoft basically sat there and said what if we make Assassin’s Creed 2. But with none of the compelling additional features, bugs out the ass, and nice up to date environment visuals. At least the setting is good?
Dunkey mentioning the historical aspect of Assassins creed made me remember why I even liked assassins creed to begin with. I might have to pick this game up sometime when it goes on sale. Thank you Dunkler
I remember when AC had fluid cool assassination animations like 10 years ago. Now that time has passed and tech advanced, animations make the npc stand up straight and turn around to greet you while you stab them in the gut…
Yeah I think that era of gaming had a lot of experimental tech involving making movement fluid. GTA IV euphoria is the biggest example as well as Assassin’s Creed. Now games don’t put as much thought and they try to make their games feel responsive and snappy but all they do is make everything jerky and unresponsive.
I found it hilarious that they called it mirage, its like they knew what they were doing, a mirage is like something you see in the desert like an oasis but when you get there its not real, like this games quality xD

Plus you can pull some AC Unity level shit is you actually know what you are doing and not just pressing up with the joystick
truly considerate of that guard to put his bow away while being assassinated so that there were no accidental discharges of his firearm as he was falling down dead.
Kingdom Come did this too. The characters you interact with were real nobility, the area is a real area that looks similar even today, some of the landmarks are still the same too. Always a nice touch to include realistic locations

This has to be the best Assassin's Creed game ever, Dunkey actually suggested buying it on sale? Incredible!
Well it was a previous unreleased DLC for Valhalla, not a new game. Not worth 50 and I'm sure it's just meh overall. Already did the middle east setting.

I 100% the game and there is ONE tailing mission in the main story. And like 2-3 more in OPTIONAL side-quests.

Really sums up this franchise since 2017. I knew there was no way they would “return to their roots” if they are still using this engine
its the same engine since ac 1
It's not, they've completely rewritten parts of it a few times before. According to the internet, Unity even uses a newer version, that had been rebuilt from scratch (which has been upgraded and used in all other titles ever since).
@@vladbuhoci6512 assassin's creed uses anvil engine which is made by Unisoft. All ac games are done in anvil and yea theyve added on to anvil over the years but it's still anvil. My main point is that the engine of the game isn't why the AC recent games are mid
@@nananina982 I know, I know, that is true indeed. My point is, the engine they use for AC is most probably continuously adapted to their latest game. Props to dunkey for letting the gameplay do the talking as far as critical review and highlighting the good aspects of the game he enjoyed. people cant even be mad at this point when he takes a shot at Ubisoft because its clear they're struggling at this point and will take any amount of money they can get.
For those wondering this was originally a DLC for Valhalla, they then decided to make it its own title which is why its so short, wait for a sale.
Probably why it's God awful

I wouldn't touch this if they paid me to.

Missed opportunity during the knife throwing compilation to say “Black Ops,” but other than that, Dunkey being somewhat nice to an Assassin’s Creed game is honestly quite the feat so kudos to this game

Assassin's Creed was never good.
Although it certainly has gotten a lot worse too
Idk bro I played Black Flag, Odyssey and ACII recently and I think AC fans are just nostalgia blinded.
The best video games show you something, they don't tell you something.
Not only did they take the setting back to AC1, they did the same with the gameplay. Truly a feat only Ubisoft can pull off.
But even the combat was way better and more impactful in the first game
The combat sucks
It's funny cuz there's a teleportation assassination that's stronger than the one in Odyssey. So they couldn't even stick to the "old school" AC gameplay

He's not teleporting. Basim was so fast that the animus glitches when it loads those parts of the memory.
People seem to forget that these games are set in a simulated VR created feom degraded genetic menories and the player isn't seeing everything as it happened in the past. The player is seeing the Animus' recreation and interpretation of memories. Some of the superhuman stuff that the games feature are nothing more than animus glitching.
Is so refreshing to see Assassins Creed as a protagonist again!

Truly a game of all time. In a year with SO many bangers of games I just cannot express how extremely non-interested I was/still am in this game.
Ubisoft wanted to make a back to basics assassin’s creed game but took it a little too literally. This feels like a game that came out a decade ago
The old games had a better story and more variety
Unity came out almost a decade ago and is arguably better
They even stripped the good movement and other features from newer titles. Talk about back to basics lmao.
that’s because games have been in arrested development for about 10 years now. does Starfield or GoW or TLOU really feel “next gen” in their gameplay or is it just graphical fidelity
I just rewatched your Assassins Creed vids, glad to see you’re still keeping tradition

Dunkey mentioning the historical aspect of Assassins creed made me remember why I even liked assassins creed to begin with. I might have to pick this game up sometime when it goes on sale. Thank you Dunkler
The throwing knives part is the same reason I had so much fun in Plague Tale, headshotting everyone with the slingshot was incredibly satisfying
This is like a hybrid between a regular review and a “Dunkey messes around” revirw

This game really makes you feel like holding the villain like a baby as you read him his rites
Rights didn’t exist until America
I remember when AC had fluid cool assassination animations like 10 years ago. Now that time has passed and tech advanced, animations make the npc stand up straight and turn around to greet you while you stab them in the gut…
I remember when the animations also made sense and then in syndicate you would stab someone in the ass for a silent kill
