Be warned - the quality of Omen is absolute junk and a rip-off - I didn't see any issue with screens failing for any other brand like this. *We would appreciate if anyone could help us with this - since we are a charity, while HP just wants to profiteer.* After HP replaced the screen on the 25th January 2024 - this THIRD SCREEN has just failed right now tonight - a laptop screen that lasts THREE LOUSY MONTHS - HP is absolute junk and is not capable of treating customers with good faith.

That one I plan to get: HP OMEN - 16.1" 165Hz Full HD Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i9 - 16GB DDR5 Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 - 1TB SSD So, has anyone used it ? any experience ? anything to tell ? Thank you in advance. P.S. This seems to have a decent price which might get cheaper through Black Friday at Best Buy.
Probably late, but if you are a programmer like me and you require something to handle alot of heavy software lifting, Omen performs really well. However, I also game on it during my free time, which puts it even more to the test and so far, it's great. However, you need to clean and take care of it, this isn't a cheap laptop that uou can discard after 2-3 years. If you take care of it, it can last 6-7 years, which is totally worth the price.
Omen was already bottom of the barrel with acer if they cut even more corners you may as well not even look lol. The spec sheet vs price is always really good with sales but at some point you gotta draw the line on poor build and software.
Omg no more full sd card slot...on which drugs are these people!?! Screen still 16:9, still wobble...never again HP laptop, I'm reborn after jumping on Lenovo 5i Pro!
This is the worst service I ever faced. This is the worst laptop I ever bought. I already sent my laptop to the service 3 times, from 8 month owning the laptop, 1,5 it spent in service trips and 3 weeks was not functional due to different issues. At first they changed videocard from 4070 to 4060, than bluetooth stopped working, than wifi and sudden turns off. Just never again.
Mine is different, with ports on the back and has a RTX 4070 instead. I really like the laptop and has been doing well for me on a variety of things. It is a big laptop though, so if you want portability, this isn't exactly the best choice.
Hello. HP omens have faulty design and constant issues with the screen. Year after purchase the monitor needed to be replaced. Yes the warranty expired. Now I have similar issue- horizontal lines on the screen. When connected to external monitor everything works. I'm not planning to replace the screen again. Thanks for another objective review Matt. I haven't had good experiences with HP products in the past so I'm gun shy with the brand (the ASUS you compared it to would be my preferred choice).
Hi, I am also now deciding between HP and ASUS, what was your choice in the end?
@@alexandrumalos2137Although I already answered your question in my original post above you shouldn't choose based on my experience, it's too far in the past.
Hey i bought a new omen 16 - i7 14700hx with RTX 4070 8gb graphics card- its brand new from HP however, the battery life normal usuage lasted 1 hour and 30-40 mins and light gaming 1 hour and 15 mins is this normal?? I returned the laptop and got another replacement brand new from hp and still the same, it has 165hz display and im trying to understand if its normal or faulty, the laptop both came without charge upon opening the box i had to charge it to run it initially
Nah that's how long gaming laptop's battery last usually when you play games on battery. It's recommended to plug in while playing and tweak some settings here and there to get a higher battery duration (like 4 hours) while not gaming.
Nobody in their right mind games without plugged in@@riteshgupta0804
Should i buy msi vector instead of omen? Omen has rtx 4080, instead of Victus’ 4060, and the prices are almost the same and i can’t increase my budget rn.
I got the Canadian model with 4070 and it has some ports on the back of the laptop, do you think that it has a different motherboard?
Where did you get it from?
Our Omen DISASTER: Omen 16" purchased June 2022 - screen failed in less than 5 months! Replaced under warranty - Screen just failed again for second time, HP INDONESIA want SIX MILLION NINE HUNDRED AND 50 THOUSAND RUPIAH ( $440! ) to replace it again. We are a non-profit who now have no laptop or means to replace this one for a more reliable and better quality brand. Be warned - the quality of Omen is absolute junk and a rip-off - I didn't see any issue with screens failing for any other brand like this. *We would appreciate if anyone could help us with this - since we are a charity, while HP just wants to profiteer.*
After HP replaced the screen on the 25th January 2024 - this THIRD SCREEN has just failed right now tonight - a laptop screen that lasts THREE LOUSY MONTHS - HP is absolute junk and is not capable of treating customers with good faith.
Sound like your machine it's just some of random machine have problem. Mine from 2020 still don't have any problem 😅

How to limit my battery to 80% in my hp omen 16 2023 pls reply or make a video 🙏🏻
Damn and i was gonna go for The victus 15 but this one looks more powerful im i right?
Is there a Mux switch?
yup!
The comment section makes me confused. Some say this laptop is bad. Some love it. What should i do? Also, in my mind, i have hp victus and pavilion gaming, maybe other brands. What do you guys think?
To be honest, I suggest you don't buy it to save your money since it has design flaws in the motherboard which is generally not discussed in western countries.
Check the model variant, some models are prone to display failure if the hall sensor is adjacent to the heatsink. Otherwise it's a solid machine. Alternatively, look at the Legion line-up from Lenovo.
Is this a good laptop or should I get the omen 17??
As someone who never like black laptops, I think this is the best looking black laptop.
how do u only have one drive slot,,thats a killer for me
Some 2023 models do come with ports at the back. Why isnt this the case?? I know for a fact that the 4080 version does have them.
I bought hp omen Ryzen 7 1tb 16 gb ram 4060 rtx I’m very disappointed with my battery performance 1:30 hrs 😢
Can you review the 4080 version ?
Does this have mux switch
I bought one of these but since day 1 i’ve been experiencing very frequent blue screen issue, i even reinstalled windows but after a couple of days the issue is back again, i literally start playing games and withing 30-60mins (sometimes even less) it shuts down by its own
Now i started thinking maybe the 16Gb RAM is the issue, so i’m going to upgrade it asap and hopefully it fixes the problem
Could be over heating. That turns it off randomly
Bought this new recently from Best Buy. I play a lot of Hell Let Loose and it runs flawlessly with an external monitor. In fact, I will be selling my desktop to use this as my primary device. No complaints at all so far.
This comment has made me go for it
how to get the rgb on the keyboard,i only got white light
Only more advanced laptop can have RGB, I'm omen16 and only white light
1:17 Big mistake imo. Same with Lenovo dropping Thunderbolt off of their Legion Pro 5.
How long would the battery last for average web surfing or streaming some media?
8 hours according to the website. i’m looking at it too.

I plan to get a gaming laptop and install BSD system if it comes with Windows 11 for playing old games from GOG, exe. and iso files as well as for video game development.
That one I plan to get:
HP OMEN - 16.1" 165Hz Full HD Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i9 - 16GB DDR5 Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 - 1TB SSD
So, has anyone used it ?
any experience ?
anything to tell ?
Thank you in advance.
P.S. This seems to have a decent price which might get cheaper through Black Friday at Best Buy.
Is it touchscreen?
Do u think it’d be good for college
Probably late, but if you are a programmer like me and you require something to handle alot of heavy software lifting, Omen performs really well. However, I also game on it during my free time, which puts it even more to the test and so far, it's great. However, you need to clean and take care of it, this isn't a cheap laptop that uou can discard after 2-3 years. If you take care of it, it can last 6-7 years, which is totally worth the price.
GPU TDP Watt?
230W and 140W Graphics Card
Omen was already bottom of the barrel with acer if they cut even more corners you may as well not even look lol. The spec sheet vs price is always really good with sales but at some point you gotta draw the line on poor build and software.
Omg no more full sd card slot...on which drugs are these people!?! Screen still 16:9, still wobble...never again HP laptop, I'm reborn after jumping on Lenovo 5i Pro!
Even when there's nothing to complaint about. He is still complaining 😏

Saw this at Best Buy. Was it just me or was the colors washed out on the display
Sooo.... How do we upgrade the SSD?
Bro in my country an omen16 with 4060 i9 13900hx and a 2.5k 240hz screen is only 1300$
This is the worst service I ever faced.
Hp Omen Transcend 16 please
Hopefully soon!
Mine is different, with ports on the back and has a RTX 4070 instead. I really like the laptop and has been doing well for me on a variety of things. It is a big laptop though, so if you want portability, this isn't exactly the best choice.
16” laptops are generally big. Being a gaming laptop it adds a lot of weight to it also
How much did you pay for it ? I plan to buy the same configuration for 1500€

Hello. HP omens have faulty design and constant issues with the screen. Year after purchase the monitor needed to be replaced. Yes the warranty expired. Now I have similar issue- horizontal lines on the screen. When connected to external monitor everything works. I'm not planning to replace the screen again. The screen have non standard size I had to order the replacement screen from US and I live in Europe. Do not buy omens for the money you're spending a lot of money and getting faulty product. I've been told it's a design flaw.
Where are laptops setup comparisons I'm waiting for them😭😭😭😭
Hey Matt, those are literally the WORST display numbers I've ever seen in my entire life LOL that being said, I duno why the HP (Canada) website advertises this display as 100% sRGB
ya makes no sense! lol
Oh wow they really cheaped out on that screen. Such a shame considering how amazing everything else is. Ill wait til something goes on sale with a 1440p OLED.
Amazing battery life really? Mine on Eco mode last for 2.5 hours only while only browsing the internet and watching youtube videos
Imagine not having a Numpad Eww bruh😑😑😑...they had me until that point tbh😂😂😂
This business laptop look totally killed the gamer idendity, where is the diamond logo??? On top of that, the build quality is also bad. And that thick bezel remains me of some 2012 technology. HP made a huge mistake again~~~~~
Nothing is wrong with the sticker placement
