- So fun to try out the ESS One+ 2017 Sense Innovations engine sound simulator from Bangood.com! It hooked up to my stock ESC/receiver in the Traxxas TRX-4 no problem.
I'll have to try out some more sounds, but this is just with the stock sounds that come pre-loaded.

Nice. I recommend the ESS Dual Plus as it includes a mount designed specifically for TRX4 and SCX10-2 uses, plus it's louder and cleaner sounding too. I made a video about it last year. 👍🔊🔊

I was going to mention about all the other sounds available to choose for engine, turbo, horn.. but you got that covered in the description.
Got three different rigs with them, its cool once in awhile and I usually only run it about volume 2, I'm not the only bear in the woods and don't want to disturb the other visitors.
Its okay to let the trail get a bit wild, makes it more challenging and opens up new lines to try.

Thanks, yeah I think I'll use it long term but have the volume down low so it's more subtle but adds that additional element. I forgot how capable the TRX-4 is too (minus the weigh of the body)! I've been eyeing the proline jeep rubicon or ford raptor body....

So I'm trying to download new sound in the unit and I can't seem to understand why using a mac the website doesn't let me hear sounds and even download. Help?

Very cool. I never noticed the 2x4 stair case coming off the bridge. Gives me an idea for my course.

btw, the pre-made mounting holes on the ess-one+ has a same distance as the rear body post, just put the speaker unit side ways, and you can see is a perfect fit

I have the ESS One Duo. very cool the website has software and more sound options. it even has jets and by planes and tanks all kinds of sounds. even horns and turbos.
Gotta love engine sounds….turns everyone into a 6yr old 😂😂….and is this possibly the first crawler that has a turbo fitted to it….🤔😂….currently looking at a sound system for my one, some need soldering etc, this however looks right up my street …easy to just plug and play.

Thanks for doing a review on this simulator.ive been thinking about putting one in but wasn't sure.how easy is it to program other sounds? Thanks for your input,love the accessories on your rig as well
It's pretty easy to program new sounds. You just plug it into a USB dongle. I was going to show it as part of the vid then didn't get around to it. You can check out the program here (www.sensehobby.com/rcx/) - pc only - but it has tons of different options and they are free. You just select the sounds you want set for the "start up," "idle," "shifting," etc. and upload them back into your sound system.

I bought a used trx4 and the one that I got has the same speaker. So cool to have the sound, but when it’s crawling the sound is not that accurate but still, i like it 😊

Nice with some V8 burble on start up and V8 growl in the terrain, sounds realistic too and added to to a scale trail truck like this one, it make the driving experience even more enjoyable. The Land Rover Defender was delivered with a V8 so it realistic with V8 sound. Here in Europe most Defenders have an in line 4 cylider diesel. Can the ESS One have 4 cylinder diesel sound too? But I think I prefer the V8 burble anyway :). By the way, impressive backyard trail!

Thanks! Yeah there are a ton of different engine sound options. There is a program you can download (www.sensehobby.com/rcx/) where you can browse different sounds. You just upload them back into your sound system. I need to try an engine that is a bit more subtle for the defender next!

Small gripe, good review but when you did the trail ride you played music over the sound system. I'm curious how the sound is when doing real slow crawling.

Manchinator got the plates from vanordcustoms.com! He makes any state and they are printed on metal. Nope definitely have not abandoned 4 wheelers!

I picked one up but haven't figured how to use it yet on my Traxxas UDR with the built in battery connectors. I was wondering if I can use a separate battery just for the ESS. I really want to use the aux cable for a police siren, trophy trucks use sirens for passing and to warn spectators.
Yeah I think you can use a separate lipo, but there won't be any LVC with it so just watch that you don't run the lipo too low.

I have a question for you @thercgirl! I purchased the ESS dual sound system (which plugs into the channel 2 throttle port on the receiver) but I also want to upgrade my servo and the external BEC plugs into the same port. Do you know if it's safe to use both? I have contacted the manufacturer of each item for clarification but have yet to hear back. I know you have used both (or similar) and was curious if you could provide any insight to help me out? Thanks!

Hello, Love your channel...Need some advice please. I'm having trouble figuring out the battery connection. I have regular Traxxas batteries. How do I make an adapter or can I buy a splitter or addaptor. Cant find anything on Amazon. It a little difficult because I am stationed in Germany and parts are not readily available. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have seen videos of sound systems in R/C cars and thought they were pretty cool, but I think I would tire of it pretty quickly. What I just got (yesterday) is a tiny waterproof stereo bluetooth speaker so I can have "tunes" blasting out of my trail truck :>

Hi, Can I power this from a spare channel in the reciever?
They make a bigger lid for the receiver that a bec will fit in. Does that sound good in real life? it's hard to tell from my phone speakers
Yeah I think this is a hemi engine sound. I didn't get a chance to try out the other engine sounds yet, but it's really loud in real life!

Can I put this in my X-Maxx 8s. I have two 4s 8500mah 14.8v batteries. Is it possible? Should I set the volume to 1 or 2?
