Honestly Jinjo is just a better bboy crew and this is coming from a popper who loves musicality. MOO is great and I loved them the first time I saw them too, but if you look closely, Jinjo is just so much more solid. They also have sick routines just like MOO so that gives them the edge.
From an old bboy to the Morning of Owl .... you guys take break dancing to a different level ... most impressive to me is that you always have a story in all your moves, work great as a team, your moves rhyme with the music .. and are just simply great artists. PS. i am 60 yrs old now and danced till i was 42 😊
I love Jinjo crew, but how did they beat Morning of Owl.. I mean No way... How do judges not also add overall Vibe and crowd control.. Morning of Owl clearly won & I love Jinjo so I'm not being bias...
Seriously? Issue, Cho, Code, and Pocket all stay on the beat. Anyone's who's played an instrument can see how well MoO can dance to any song. For Pocket especially, it's extremely difficult to move that fast while still finding beats to hit with a one-handed elbowflare AND finish it off with a clean freeze.
Jinjo's been improving too. They're letting their junior members get some battle practice in while the members you see here (wing & skim as well) have been coming up with new stuff, but they arent showing it off yet. a rematch would be so awesome though. Jinjo's hat routine and jacket routine vs MoO's 2 best routines would be interesting
Guys who are saying Our system is getting disgraced. NO, just the opposite. You see how we all are able to question and hold the exact judge responsible for his decision, good or bad? And see exactly how they judged each round? And talk about it?! Brilliant! I love it! Couldn't be done with just arm pointing and then saying they know best because of experience. We can actually question things now and see who really are the best judges for jams. And I think that's awesome.
MOO brought out some new moves into this battle. I don't know if you guys have noticed but they're definitely putting new content into their routines. Jinjo was extremely clean, but they lacked creativity and that's where MOO dominates. The last routine MOO did brought the judges scores to a tie. Their last minute routine was creative enough to bring them up to par with Jinjo. Close battle, but I think I'll side with MOO on this one. #Pocket
honestly, maybe issue didnt hit ALL the beats, but he was definitely listening to the music. idk why lil john gave him a 1 (foundation) on both his sets -___- actually why did lil john vote morning of owl so low on foundation. morning of owl took this in my opinion.
Musicality does fall in the Foundation category, which is weird how all the scores were so low. Maybe Lil John wasn't fully informed that the foundation category includes musicality, patterns, and finesse.
You do realize the R16 website said Foundation is musicality? They're not entirely different at all. Foundation is moving to the beat aka music. It also includes footwork but entirely on hitting beats
MOO's musicality was actually pretty good, issue for example synchronized perfectly with the drums.. and they gave him a 1 for some reason im guessing they didnt want him to sync with the drums? Lol thats a personal preference not a proffessional call at all.
Last MoO routine + pocket should not have scored a 1 on foundation. Foundation also includes musicality, not many powerheads can do power on such high level as Pocket and end it like that.

I don't know if you're asking if Hong 10 is a part of Jinjo or if he was a part of this battle. Hong 10 is a member of Jinjo, and he isn't in this battle, I believe he's serving in the military right now.
My two favorite crews!! I can't believe I haven't seen this until now! This battle was too short....I hope they verse each other again soon, things have changed a lot since then....
I'd really like a interview of Lil John explaining what happened in this battle, cause most bboys had toprock, they didn't just enter into flares and that is foundation.
Might wanna read is covered under the foundation category. If you think you're a more qualified judge than Lil John please let R16 and the world know who you are.
why was issues foundation so low, I mean the guy after him seemed to have the worse musicality and like barely any additional footwork, how did he get a 3 but issue get a 1???
Lil John was a very suspect judge in this battle but the guy who came out after issue had way more bboy foundation... He was not bad at all...This was just a terrible point system
well from ourbboys.(add com here)/our-system which is the actual website, footwork isn't necessary for foundation which i think makes perfect sense as it embraces individual bboy style
The RESPONSE, is what the Battle category is about! This system is designed to preserve all the essences of what a Bboy Battle is supposed to be, especially the RESPONSE.
I don't think that Foundation is accurately interpreted here. LOL I take it back apparently six step and some cc variations is equivalent to a 5. Look at Vero's set. lol
What do you think on having on scoring at all? I thought that was a good idea cuz it would still keep the categories but it would take away in giving an official score. The problem with scoring imo is that one can always top the other and it cud become the same score, so why not change it so a judge every round can say, this guy was cleaner, this guy was more original, etc.
I'm a proponent of the OUR System. Think MOO's musicality was good enough to score better than 1s for foundation but that's up to the judge I guess. Just some constructive criticism for the scoreboard. I think the scores should only be shown at the beginning of each consecutive round. It just gets confusing when I'm trying to focus on round 5 with round 4 scores up the whole time. Maybe just leave the highlighted symbols and have the scored return to zero at some point. Just some thought.
Yeah, basic power, freezes and tricks I'd include as foundation as well. But (imo), to show good foundation you'd have to exhibit most of those and glue them together with footwork, since footwork is core to foundation. For example I wouldn't call just windmills -> swipes -> windmills good foundation, even though windmills and swipes are basic power. So if you have little or no footwork, then personally I'd score you low for foundation. Which one was Mold?
Hilarious how no one really paid attention to MoO until they won R16 this year. Now we got a bunch of people talking shit to judges and the crews that go against MoO. What happened to hip-hop being about peace, love, and unity?
You said it yourself bro, it IS extremely difficult to stay on beat when that's the style you stick to. The key is rockin or popping some to display that rhythm. I'm sure you know that and I'm sure Issue and Pocket both know that
what i don't get is how pocket and issue got 1 for musicality - i can see to a certain extent how issue would get 1 since his musicality was off (although 1 is harsh) but pocket hit the beats perhaps not by footwork or tops, but through power :\
the reason Jinjo won is because they had much more foundation and footwork than Morning of Owl did and thats what really helped them score higher than MoO. which in foundation category I agree with, but thats just me.
+Andrew Xuen , Jinjo thought that MOO copied others move so they did that to signal the judges that MOO are not original but it was clearly MOO's moves
Bro, just because the symbol looks like a double-quaver note does NOT mean you should judge it as 'Musicality', alright? Watch the video clip all over again and realise its called 'Foundation', and research on what is the meaning and role of Foundation in breakdancing. And realise Foundation does more than to observe on how they keep the beat.
yeah u r right i realized that after writing my comment lol i really thought it was musicality my bad. So they are counting musicality into the foundation grade right ?
bc he didnt show "foundation". its bs. u can read the website. its musicality (which he showed i think the most of), beathitting, confidence, and such. idk why lil john scored them so low
That last set by MoO deserved a 5 on originality for the crazy original routines. Just imagine, MoO would have beaten Jinjo just due to that one point, it would have been 2-1.
The response category is still in battle and it would be a response to its previous round. And I don't understand how it would ruin the team factor. ROutines would still be part of the round and the routines would still be judged on the basis of the categories. And even with flaws, it would still be alot better than no scoring. Not scoring makes you only remember the strong sets and then it would not reflect the team as a whole. You're only strong as your weakest link.
I think Jinjo won this, but I think Lil'Jon's judging skewed the scores BADLY. Consistent 1's for Morning of Owl. On the OURbboys site 1 is defined as "No dancing, no confidence, just shuffling around with your head down." 2's if you don't like their dancing, but to say no confidence, no swag? that's some ol'bull...
I like how Skim confidently walks out and looks everyone in MOO in the eye. True crew leader mentality right there
And that's how Lil John permanently ended his judging career
Yeah seriously what the fuck was up with that bullshit?
Muhammad Zubair it's true that he judged a bit poor on moo's side... but well: since he judged foundation, to a certain extent it's understandable
***** nah if u watch the finals he judges like hes sucking jinjo's dix or vice versa
GroinDestroyer
Did his career really end because of this?
Honestly Jinjo is just a better bboy crew and this is coming from a popper who loves musicality. MOO is great and I loved them the first time I saw them too, but if you look closely, Jinjo is just so much more solid. They also have sick routines just like MOO so that gives them the edge.

This battle was held one year ago - and now, MoO has been improved soooooooo much. It's amazing.
Judge Lil John.. the worst judge ever... ._.
lil john, 1 is not the highest
I love Jinjo crew, but how did they beat Morning of Owl.. I mean No way... How do judges not also add overall Vibe and crowd control.. Morning of Owl clearly won & I love Jinjo so I'm not being bias...
Hey look carefully
Morning repeat the their move few times
Jinji has originality, unique style,
My two favorites.
Jinjo and morning of owl
From me too :D
how the FUCK did they tie in dynamics? just how.
There no way y’all not gonna talk about FE skills he on 🔥

what happen with lil john ? is he blind ? or he has no eyes ?
What the fck. Morning of owl receive 1 for foundation each round ?!? The hell lil john ????

4:50 - 5:20 That was creative! Anyone knows song name 5: 25 - 6: 20?
all 1's on foundation for Morning Of Owl... sadness... i see so many foundation...
1-1-1-1-1 all 1 point. Lmao
the last song is Soul Dynamite - The Sound Stylistics
You do realize the R16 website said Foundation is musicality? They're not entirely different at all. Foundation is moving to the beat aka music. It also includes footwork but entirely on hitting beats
Morning of owl lose
jinjo lose
pocket win
+Kittipan kill I've never been afraid to go up to a person the size of an average British 11 year old in my entire life XD

DJ WON THE BATTLE!
great stuff from both crews and great battle thanks got the video!
According to the scores, throughout the whole battle, Morning of Owl had absolutely NO foundation.
(1's = none)
My two favorite crews!! I can't believe I haven't seen this until now! This battle was too short....I hope they verse each other again soon, things have changed a lot since then....
WillMePHD Sadly, Morining of Owl only has 5 members now

Rams ' Bboy Pocket
OUR System must increase the maximum point to 10
because morning of owl deserver more than 5 point for originality !
Issue Style!! DOPE ! DOPE ! DOPE !
what are the 5 factors in judging? the 1st symbol means musicality i guess, but rest?
Creativity, Dynamics, Execution and Battle, i pressume.

Morning of owl's musicality is 5 points... Is that real?
Lil John must have some fucking AMAZING foundation if he thinks Morning of Owl deserved all those 1s...
wait issue and hong 10 are still allowed to compete?!? i thought they were both serving military time right now
Yeah, basic power, freezes and tricks I'd include as foundation as well. morning of owl is haved 5 points in music section by lil john
the reason Jinjo won is because they had much more foundation and footwork than Morning of Owl did and thats what really helped them score higher than MoO. which in foundation category I agree with, but thats just me.
its actually both! that area counts for both foundation and musicality! not the best idea imo, both needs separate categories!
isn't foundation good tops, footwork and clean execution? cuz i didn't see that as much on MoO.
Who the hell is screaming from 8:10. That's incredible.
I want our system final jinjo vs gambler pls.
can someone PLEASE tell me what that gesture means at 7:40? The one that Jinjo is doing with the arms. I see it all the time in these bboy battles
It means that they copied that move from other people, its called biting
+Paul Leonard But the move at 7:40 is from Moo
I know, Jinjo were the ones that thought so.
+Paul Leonard So I still do not understand what this gesture, with the arms, means
+Andrew Xuen , Jinjo thought that MOO copied others move so they did that to signal the judges that MOO are not original but it was clearly MOO's moves
Please ask lil john what he was looking for in Foundation. I don't understand why so many rounds from both sides got 1s
The judging system isnt bad, but the problem of judges giving questionable calls has now become questionable points
