The judging criteria are directly related to Breaking, more precisely to the execution, quality and originality of the movements falling in the following categories: Toprock, Footwork, Powermoves, Freezes. In addition, the following criteria are added to the judging catalogue :
1. Response: How does the crew / dancer react to the opponent's performance?
2. Routines and Commandoes: Which choreographed aspects do the dancers bring to the table?
3. Strategy: How do crew's dancers organize themselves and dance during the battle?
4. Attitude: Which mentality does the crew / dancer express in a battle situation?
Intentional touching will lead to immediate disqualification.
Les critères de jugement sont liés au Bboying, plus précisément à la qualité d'exécution des figures : Toprock, Footwork, Freeze, Powermove ; auxquels s'ajoutent les critères suivants :
1- Réponse : comment réagit le crew / danseur face à la performance de l'opposant ?
2- Combinaisons : quels aspects chorégraphiques les danseurs apportent au battle ?
3 -- Stratégie : comment s'organise et danse le crew / danseur durant le battle ?
4- Attitude : quelle mentalité exprime le crew / danseur en situation de battle ?
La touche volontaire est éliminatoire.

They didn’t win! I’m no breakdancing expert but I was watching this thinking Morning of Owl were so much better I would feel embarrassed having to compete against them. Winning against them would be an even bigger disgrace.

Those judges had to be stacked. I don't get it. Owl had far more difficulty, execution, originality and they were synced with more style. They had more acrobatics and I really don't get the last tie breaker. The top 9 guy all he did was hooks and threading with some footwork and beat out the other wush guy with his acrobatics, style, footwork and spins? I don't think so!

Tom Brooks bboying is more than acrobatics. that bboy in the second tie breaker (bboy robin) was much smoother, was hitting beats more and issue crashed so i do give the tie breaker to top 9. HOWEVER, there should not have been a second tie breaker in my opinion, Morning of OWL should have clinched the match in the beginning. but what do i know, im a medical student who gave up bboying months ago :)

I agree how did Owl not win. Top 9 looked like they just made everything up on the spot "oh i cant compete with rocket better airflair anyway" seriously I have respect for top 9 but here just... It's funny how everyone is talking about fundamentals and pure bboying when dancing is essentially a progressive movement, an act of liberation from monotony. But the thing is everything changes even the music that bboys dance to is the result of progression because it's derivative of some sort of fundamental. So how can people expect simplicity/fundamentals/pure bboying in something that is about moving beyond what was done yesterday. No one enjoys a static character it's all about how dynamic you can be when it comes to bboying. MoO is dynamic.
Thank you! Fundamentals and simplicity are important factors when it comes to learning and gaining an understanding. But those elements are not everything. Creativity, innovation and the willingness to progress beyond the norm is what gave us bboys like Dyzee, Hong 10, Sonic, Project Korea, MoO, etc. They took the basics and brought something new that made the basics more than what they were. If you cannot innovate, then you stagnate.
From Russia i think that Predatorz are better than top 9. I thought that morning of owl had it the first time. They were more original and had a higher lever of difficulty in their rounds. Maybe it went to a tie breaker because Issue slipped up a little bit?

I am Russian but I can't stand the behaviour of the most Russian breakers. They don't show respect + don't have the moves to counter attack = bad combination. The should at least manage to solve one of these problems.

I can't help but agree with Ducky on the tiebreaks. Top9 took the first one, but MOO should have had the second one. As for the overall battle, I felt MOO took that.
...also, this crowd was really weak in all the battles I saw...
...and Pocket's one-handed air tracks are the cleanest/most effortless looking I have ever seen. Seriously? Starting from handstand and doing two airtracks and then going into them? Insane.
