A quick video about reindexing the torsion bars would be handy for your viewers. Then maybe a light bar and reversing lights. New rear lights would look good. And maybe catch can and intercooler. You could easy do that on your budget. Perhaps even find some cheap sunnies on market place and do a rattle can paint job video on them 🤌🏼

I really wanna see you make some steel bar work with an inexpensive tube bender! I recon that would be sick. A bullbar like coal and maybe even with extra plate at the front covering the gaps for something different🤷♂️
31'' wheels (black steelies), 2'' extended leaf shackles, if you can find some cheap ones than get some torsion bars to suit 2'' lift. Jeep headlights fit, just need negative switched relays as well. Paint the bullbar, maybe have a crack at making your own winch cradle. I know its not for off roading but it adds to the look and something beginners are always looking at. I own 2 patrol and a Mitsubishi 2.8ltr mk triton. Also yours is a mj triton, love the square body
A good short exhaust, so it sounds tough. LED headlights and a nice bar or spotties for night time. Clean up the dash to make it useful for your needs and a basic 12v for it whenever you want to take a fridge for the day. And a ladder rack so you can carry any new steel you need. 5k in total, incl cost of ute. Good to watch, you make it simple and I learn a lot 👌🏽
In my opinion tritons are the most underrated Ute, as a longtime owner of a 2015 mn they drive amazing and great touring rig, great condition too inside and out
If you like old school keep it that way. Nice chrome wheels with 33s,polish the bullbar and put the chrome mirrors back on.Re Trim the seats.Headboard is massive would look better lowered and somewhat shaped to the car.

I reckon just do the basics to tidy it up a bit. Polish the chrome bullbar, new front indicators as they are cloudy and look old, good vacuum and tidy inside with some seat covers and replace the broken exhaust. Then it’d be a super clean ute to daily and use around the house👌🏻
Definitely has potential, like it could look like absolute rig with a 3inch lift, 33s, a nice black tray that actually fits the car, and a black bull bar like the one on coal. I would put some black steelys on it and keep it clean and simple with no chrome. She sounds good to
power steering pumps are a weakness as well as the front shocks , you have already fixed the engine weakness by replacing the balance and timing belts , the clutch isn't the heaviest so if it starts slipping best to replace it then waiting for it to worsen .we had a 91 2.5td manual 4x4 and it had 450k on it when we sold it , pretty good ute overall

Would be cool to chop the head board down to suit the cab or lower the tray as well so it suits the cab, 32” tyres on some Steelies with a little lift, driving lights and sliders or or scrub bars and steps and maybe do something with a bar paint it black or steel bar

When I put some bay LED lights in, my auto dimming welding helmet has a fit. I’ve now put them on an app to remote turn them on and off. Hopefully yours are ok. 🤞🏼
Bugger all. Track down better seats. Spot lights and that is it. Perhaps power to the tray area. I think the engine in those was the early 4D56. Maybe an intercooler off a Pajero.
@@RoamLyfe All I know is that the earlier Pajero had the same engine. They also had an intercooler which was under bonnet. This is the shape as the model which had the 2.8l turbo diesel.
I reckon bump up the budget to about 2k-2.5k but In saying that you also have to buy tools to fix the old girl up like you said pops gave you the car as a gift and now you have to buy your own tools and everything else to fix her up
Mate I like concept but I’d do it slightly different Id do it p plater speck so like the average young fella would do in there old man shed with a shoe string budget, scrounging stuff off gumtree and market place modifying and adapting stuff from other things to suit
Keep it stock, dont see them like that anymore. Just have a more negative offest 31s. Gearing is pretty high, so wouldn't recommend bigger tyres and the 31s only just fit on stock suspension.
I'm 100% the same, love old clean Ute's but diesels only 😂. I love the theme of this new build, definitely change the rims and tyres to bit bigger, upgrade the head lights and install some kings spot lights, cheap and easy mods 👌

If you have to add some strip lights, I feel like you haven't got the current light setup right. Maybe get a bunch more of these ones and put them properly in the shed? Definitely feels like it's lacking light
Uhhmmm... nice tray! just jokin'. Those early Bistushiti Triton lasted forever if well maintained, should make for an awesome daily. Change the gear shifter though, bit wanky!
Bro she looks tidy. Raptor spray the bull bar, sheep skin/wool front seat covers, try and get the original dash from a wrecker, window tint and most importantly.... Underbody protection on a budget. A video of rust proofing the chassis and what to look for or repair in older cars. Please leave the old school snorkel and keep it looking clean and stock as possible
$1500 sound a good budget... I think that you should not buy new items for the build, unless it is a mechanical item needed to keep the motor and drive train going. Use the $1500 to see what you can source second hand from market place to do the build. Items like canopy, awning, roof racks, fridge, second battery system and solar panels, draws/storage system (BUT NOTHING NEW) it would be good to see how far $1500 will go with second hand stuff....you may even be able to pick, say an auto locker for it. I think you should be allowed to use a welder to do items if needed and a grinder. You should be able to use some of your mates to help...but only beer can be used to pay for their time..(purchase of the beer is not included on the $1500 budget) Look forward to see what you can achieve.

@@RoamLyfe There must be a ton of them at the wreckers...the magna, at least the one I had was getting very expensive to maintain....(I have to go to the mechanics for work to be done). See if you can find the top of line seats - leather, lumber etc. etc. They were excellent seats. Just check if they will slot straight in.
Just for a sense of realism i'll let you know. I bought my car for 12k (Absolute bargain for what i got) now spending whatever money i can at it to make it just a sick as rig.. going for 4x4 capability but also camping and touring setup. Budget could be maybe 2-3k

Maybe no rules as such, just do it up in little bits in the background. Like a normal person would, one week you might spend 50-100 bucks on spray cans, the next week nothing. Save for a month and do a $2-300 mod. And so on. Just do it like normal people do it…. Then definitely weld the front diff😉
Basic power tools, no specialty tools, standard sockets and wrenches, no mods you can’t do/make yourself for less than $500
