- A few weeks ago a friend of mine saw an add for this old VW LT31 tow truck. He sent me a link and told me to buy it. Well I did, sight unseen! Now a few weeks later I have gone to pick it up. Let’s see everything that is wrong with it. Can I make it run better?

That single stage enamel polishes and shines up like new😉 Adam I tagged you in a Jaguar XJ rescue that hadn't been on the road in 25 years, guy I bought it from got it in his father's will in 1999 when his dad passed away

Great that it’s a 2.4 litre straight six… a classic Jaguar XK configuration ! Just needs a sporty twin-pipe backbox and a “2.4” or “240” chrome badge from a Mk 2 ! Oh yes and the paintwork revived by the detailers who refreshed the Rover 3500….
A long list of picky little problems, but none sounds like a show-stopper.

Very nice Truck! And It'll be very useful as well!!... Get it running properly and fix the faults that need to be fixed..But otherwise? Well...I'd just start to use/enjoy it! Don't be too fussy about the outside...She will serve You well if maintained.

They are simple to fix I bet it's been stuck for a long time oil every thing like cables every thing Wats ment to move they are an loud inside the cab get some better speakers and radio when driving it you can change things to wat you want it's simple enough just go over it and service every thing it was cheap to buy 👍

What's the handling like with almost no weight on the rear wheels?

If I were you I'd change the timing belt,,probably hasn't been changed in an age..
I guess the max weight is 3,5 tons, so is the max load going to be of much use to you?
Yes it will be. It’s fairly light so I can load a Jaguar with no issues

Hi. I told you in comments 2 days ago. First of all, try to load and unload a car with low ground clearance. I think you will have a problem. I hope I`m wrong. But if I`m right you have a useless car for your purpose.
It's a fun toy. Even if it ends up not doing the job, he can sell it back easily.
@@alexandrecouture2462 I agree so much. I drove LT in work for many years. They are good, simple, reliable workhorses. But I thought Adam had better things to put money and time in than a useless toy. But it adds content to the channel I guess.
