They characterised a very important point in our lives, and in history, in a very good cheerful and innocent way, that will always be cherished and so fondly remembered. I can't thank them enough. And the songs, sea shanties etc, simply brilliant!!!😄👍👍

What I remember most about the Spinners was there Blood Donors advert and the accompanying song "In My Liverpool Home" I live in Northern Ireland where Ulster Scotch music and songs are popular and it's good to see the other styles of folk music that are popular in other parts of the UK.

Oh golly-gosh I remember those halcyon days of folk back in yesteryear.
In those days a trip to a folk club meant you were expected to participate and most songs seemed to have a refrain of some sort that you were expected to join in on.
The Spinners could fill large theatres very easily and it was always a great night out to listen to them.
I caught the folk bug back then and I still have it! Only I never made ANY money what so ever although I have busked from Inverness to Weymouth, London to Hong Kong.
I too am a local authority Councillor in the grand city of Bristol and I occasionally still perform if we have had enough to drink!

So the presenter referred to Tony Davies as a ‘ Geordie giant.’ But I thought Tony was from Blackburn?
