best demonstration of using a dremel diamond blade to cut glass. I want to cut the handle off of a gallon jug. Hope it works as well for me as your project did for you.
Pretty awesome! I just purchased a Dremel diamond cutting bit from Lowe's. I wasn't planning on cutting glass with it, but I love the fact that I can if needed in the future. I am experimenting with petrified wood, and stones, to create jewelry. Great info, thanks for the video! ~Joe ✌😎
Like the cooling system very clever..was wondering how to do that..great video..was also wondering what the long tube was for..very informative n thnx for making it so clear..
Thumbs up ....you read my mind. I already had a diamond wheel screwed in and ready to go. Ha. Mine is a smaller wheel, however. I just wanted to see approaches.
Is the flex shaft necessary? What purpose does it serve? Couldn’t you just use the attachments directly to the dremel and get the same result? Great video! Thank you!
never cut and hold glass like this with barehands, if the glass breaks it will cut your hands and the dremel may also cut into your hands when the glass breaks, not safe! clever setup with the water bottom hole though
It also keeps the glass dust from getting in the air and then into your lungs. This is deadly if it gets in your lungs, even a tiny bit of the glass dust.
Ingenious cooling system - love it
Love the poke in water bottle. GENIUS! Thank you for sharing that tip!

Yes... I was trying to think of a water cooling solution. Great idea.

Ingenious cooling...no need to spend additional money on a tool not used often

I am wondering this too!
I think it’s for ease of working with it. More control and not as heavy as the dremel. I went ahead and purchased it and I’m happy I did.
It is lighter easy to move around. Also as I use water don't want the tool near it.
Yea easier to manuever, lighter smaller to tighter spaces make for an easier use

how many bottles would you say you can cut with the diamond wheel before it wears out?

Thanks. Very helpful.
Is the water used to keep dust down or help lubricate it for wearing the blade down?
I know for cnc machining the tools would get so hot they would be destroyed without constantly being sprayed with coolant.
Robert Allen
Neither
I believe that it is to keep the glass cool enough from the heat of cutting that the glass doesn’t break.
The diamond cutting bit will last longer. Also helps with dust.
The edges are pretty rough after using that diamond wheel. Do you have a suggested attachment to smooth that out a bit?
I think one of the sharpening wheels might work for polishing the sharp edges. I think you want a low rpm for them
I dont know what the item number is but it could be an orange cone one set to low rpm
speed?
Wrist protecters
you should be wearing carving gloves
