Finally, a positive aspect to the fact that I’m the single person I know that finds yawning the most contagious! Now my best friend can bug me with it as much as she wants without annoying me 😂
On a serious note: I just found your channel. It’s been a while, but this was a great refresher on the anatomy parts of phonetics I did at uni. Thank you.

Thanks for clearing up that speaking from the belly is just a mental image/tool. I'm a heavy introvert who doesn't talk much and I really am not familiar with my voice. When I heard people say speak from your belly I thought I was so unfamiliar with speaking that I wasn't aware of something other people more talkative know.

Hi, good day sir... Thank you for this video. Very informative.
Mind I ask, is there a connection between singing and yawning. I am a member of a choir as a bass and I cant help but yawn just after our session. I am not sleepy though... Just yawning too much. Thanks again. Much appreciated.

I love it when this happens! It happens all the time. Yawns are contagious (have you noticed?) When you lift the soft palate, it is a bit like "stretching" tiny delicate muscles in the soft palate. When those muscles are contracting, it is the same group of delicate muscles that are used in yawning. Outcome? Yawning.

It's great to understand the instrument we're training! It's like understanding the body when you go to the gym, you don't have to do it, but it makes everything more tangible and gives you the ability to judge whether what you're doing is actually healthy for the instrument/body.
    Cheers :)

Thank you. The problem with yawning sensation is that people tend to push down their tongues after they start to sing.

Okay good note. Perhaps I should make it clearer to find the relaxation in the yawn and keep one as exercise use the other as more natural! 👌

Who are they? Contradiction is the best way to learn! Never accept one method, some will resonate on certain points while others the same elsewhere!
