Car is nice! Thats a 9 inch Ford rear end, don't change it out for 12 bolt since it is not a numbers matching car. You can get any gear set you need for that and it will hold any power you put in front of it. Someone boxed in the trailing links to make them stronger than the factory stamped channel pieces the car came with. I cut my teeth on cars like this. You got a good starting platform to make that ride your own! Love seeing young Brothers going after thier dreams!
And it's a whole lot less work to swap gears in a 9 inch rather than gear swapping a 12 bolt. He can even get a whole center section and gear already set up.
I own a 1970 El Camino...stuff breaks on these cars, don't get discouraged. Any muscle car you buy will have issues unless of course you get one that is 100% completely restored. Part of the journey is the time and money you dump into YOUR car. When it's all finished, you'll look back and think about all these little headaches you had to deal with. Along with that, you'll appreciate and admire it much more. Congrats on your car man!
Most Chevelles are being cloned into SS with hood and badges but the conversions are very rare to the round gauge SS dash. Doesn't matter though, it's the experience. Enjoy your ride!
A week after I turned 15 I bought a 72 Chevelle lunar yellow black vinyl top black interior from a school teacher had 46,000 original miles yes that was a long time ago I'm 47 now and I wish I had never sold that car cuz I paid $2,500 bucks for it and that was back in 1989 and I had the car for about a year built it up .... Sold it cause hard times I've had a 68 Chevelle since then I've had a 78 Malibu landau with a 454 I'm homeless now I got a 21 speed mountain bike and a burly dog trailer to haul my pitbull around and I can't wait for the day when I get to buy another hot rod. So kudos brother nice purchase!
Welcome to the old school car game. There is always something that’s going to cost you money…lol… but if you are really about it.. it’s worth every penny!
That’s those 4:11 gears whining those gears are for drag racing. If you want some all around gears for freeway cruising and the streets go with 3:73s If you want better handling upgrade to qa1 parts on your suspension
Tailshaft seal, radiator overflow is very important and serves a purpose! Tires r bald because he beats shit out that car, whining noise sounds like trouble, the dude is trying hustle you!
Nice car. I had a base 71 Chevelle coupe from 1978-1981. Same blue. White vinyl top. Was in storage while owner in the Navy. 38,000 miles. No air conditioning. One of the cars I wish I had kept.
1st thing you do when buying an older car look underneath it check for rust, open the truck check the trunk liner and see if you see rust, from the looks of it you paid to much for the car 30k + you could have got an car done right no rust a restoration mod and you can hear the engine needs a lot of work done. I'm in Houston and my uncle is selling his for 45k all done up
Man let that man live…. He’s happy and it’s probably his first time doing a deal on his own. It’s always somebody that trying to 1up someone this platform.
If I had that car I’ll spend all my money on…that’s a best choice you make in a long long time man ! Very happy for you, never sell this beautiful art and make her sick she deserves love…love it and like I said that’s my dream car also

Read my post it's not a classic with a fuel injected ls. Is a resto mod. He can enjoy it I hate being negative but in the car community you have to criticize. It's a shame if you run the VIN and it comes back a true SS the the dude that sold it to him screwed him. If it comes back a 6 cylinder or a low optioned V8 then cool. Plus the paint job is crap and the interior with wires running everywhere is shady. The coolant reservoir isn't even hooked up and the dude lied to him about it. It's going to run very hot because the rad isn't filled and when he does fill it it's going everywhere. I hate seeing people getting played. Plus the trany is leaking and the welding on the exhaust looks like Doo Doo. It's easy buy a 6 cylinder or a crap restored V8, paint it put a junk yard V8 out of a newer gm vehicle and sell it to someone that doesn't know what to look for. What do the frame rails look like, lift up the carpet in the trunk, bring a magnet to look for Bondo with a tee shirt to you don't scratch the paint. Look for that before you buy a car. Plus saying the transmission is custom made is crap. It came with the engine out of the junkyard with the engine.
@@ericgraham454 the VIN wont tell him if its a true SS and from some of the things shown its not. He wouldnt have been screwed even if it was since he didnt do the modifications, the guy he bought it from did. I agree with pretty much everything you posted...in fact this looks like a flipper someone put together in a hurry.
Make sure you take the time to check out the trunk and the rear quarters, the package tray, the frame rails... all good basic starting points with classic muscle cars. Did you notice how there are blemishes on both of the c-pillars? The rear quarters were probably replaced at some point. you definitely want to always check that out before buying anything that's 50 years old. Making sure the Bodywork is halfway decent is priority number one with these old cars as it is expensive to fix bad body work and you don't want to buy a Bondo buggy.... congratulations on the classic ride bro I have owned them most of my adult life. Plus if you payed crazy cash for this and the VIN comes back as a 6 cylinder car you got ripped off. Plus the paint job is wavy asf. Like I love when people get into classic cars but it sooo easy to screw people over. If you payed more than like 15,000. You got played. Grew up in late 60' s and early 70's. My big brother was 6 years older than me He had friends that had cars (late 60's early 70's) like a Mustang, GTO, Barracuda and my brother had AMC Javelin and Ford Cougar.
Nice Chevelle! Glad you are happy with your purchase. For a minute, the dude was getting on my nerves acting like he did not understand you when you were asking questions... "Whining? huh"... like he couldn't hear it!
Hello lucky that noise you hearing might be coming from the tires or the hub bearings but you just have to find out what wheel hub bearing is the noise is coming from
Luck, its a beautiful ride but he got to come down on the price a bit. You got to fix the interior (all of the wiring) and the passenger side mirror and the radiator overflow container isn't mounted. The rest is crazy clean. I did see some bondo in the body and the transmission is leaking fluid.
I hope it proves productive for you man. Lot of hard earned cash thrown down there. Not sure what the total was. Looks good, however, seemed to be alot of little things. Those little things become pet peeves. You apparently evaluated the vehicle and often it is difficult when emotions are high and you get excited. I thought it could have been cleaner and less little issues. I probably would have kept looking but you seem happy and hope you get many years of good memories.
Same. I saw the cash he was counting out at the beginning. I haven't watched the whole vid, but I sure hope he didn't drop it all on this car. Whether he did or not, I hope he's happy and riding with a smile in his dream car.
I kind of wish more youtubers had cars like this. Yes, the supercars are cool. It's good for views to get the latest model of whatever's hot, but these have so much character.
You definitely look happy in it! To find one of those is rare and in the shape that one is in is even more rare, so mu hat is off to you. Best looking one I've seen in a while. Congrats to you.
Personally, when it comes to muscle cars, nothing is very desirable past 1970. The pinnacle of these Chevelles was the 1970 Chevelle. Just my opinion, but this is still a great car.
Nice you actually seem happy like a different type from other purchases , setting right bc of the hard hustle! Yup no used car comes perfect you gotta spent to get close to it.
I've always liked the 1970 to 72 Chevelles. With the LT1 engine in this you can use this car as a daily and have the old school looks with the new school technology!
whoa whoa whoa! there's a problem with these year Chevelle 'bu's. i bought my son one years ago and when he was pulling away from a light it broke loose and went over the center divider, up and over the sidewalk and into a field with 4 flat tires and bent wheels!! CONGRATS, I hope you don't drive as bad as my son
Please, please, please DONT change the rim/tire set up. Its a true classic as it is now! Best way to ruin these cars is up grading the rims of today. She is a real beauty as she sits, congrats man, you deserve it!!!
Heavy hitta. Old school sitting right. Looking right. Sounds right. Hey that z71 looking tough too. She ain break a sweat. She can drag that trailer all day long
To me, those early 70s Chevelles have such a sexy body shape! That aerodynamic curve around the rear! And those Corvette Rally wheels are the perfect look to go with that car!
Beautiful car, and one of my personal faves for years -- but they can be a money pit as well. I'm NOT a mechanic, but I hear a loud bearing noise when the hood is open (not to mention those electric fans which are loud as heck). I would have a mechanic do a checkout on it to see if your power steering pump, water pump or alternator have a fried bearing.
The whip looks really tight ,I'm glad you know your stuff I noticed that you were paying full attention to the car stayed focused.Alot of sellers tell you to put your foot in the gas to take your mind off the big picture ,yeah you want to make sure the car has the power Incase you have that craving but that's not that matter.Ive learned the hard way .Bit it is a nice ride it just needs a few things that the seller failed to mention til you addressed them. You didn't let the good looks and the raw sound from the car take your attention away. You know your stuff keep up the good work and you definitely got a serious machine.(The real deal )
All I can say is Congrats!! The ONLY problem after you get your dream car is where do you go from there.? I wish you many 1000s of safe miles rolling in that beautiful ride....ENJOY!!!!
Unless you grew up with them, you don't realize how far things have changed. The new cars are faster, stop shorter, handle better, get better gas mileage, and are way more reliable. Still, there's just something about the rawness and mechanical nature of the old cars. They're more sensual. The smell, feel, look, sound. It's primal.
Lucky I’m with you when you right but wrong when you wrong! We do this for a living bro! IMO this was a BAD BUY. From the bad paint down to the unprofessional wiring. The guy had too many excuses for a 30k VINTAGE CAR. #YOUKNOWBETTER

I love the 71 Chevelle my dream version is black with silver rally stripes it's not a perfect car but having the modern power plant definitely is a plus -if I were you I'd have a holley efi system installed by someone you trust ,,,way better for engine management and you can add a ton of sensors down the road and really dial it in good luck with it man
Check the Numbers, the interior is void of True SS Badging, soooooo it may be a "Clone". Also the rear end looks to be a ford or mopar, definitely not GM.

👍🏾💯🍀💪🏾 I remember
Grew up in late 60' s and early 70's. My big brother was 6 years older than me
He had friends that had cars (late 60's early 70's) like a Mustang, GTO, Barracuda and my brother had AMC Javelin and Ford Cougar.
Nice Chevelle! Glad you are happy with your purchase. For a minute, the dude was getting on my nerves acting like he did not understand you when you were asking questions... "Whining? huh"... like he couldn't hear it!
Im so jealous! My dream car right there!! 1970-1972 chevy Chevelle blue with white racing stripes and a 502-575 big block. Ugh
Lucky, congratulations on finally getting the Chevelle!! Life is short , enjoy it. ✌️😍
Lucky... very much well deserved...& U know UNC is definitely going to be HAPPY that U finally got a Old School... CONGRATULATIONS bro...YEE!!!!✌🏼
Instead of checking the windows thick the floor boards for rust check the trunck for rust. Come on brother
Hello lucky that noise you hearing might be coming from the tires or the hub bearings but you just have to find out what wheel hub bearing is the noise is coming from
Look under the back seats for old paper work!
Congratulations man. It's always good to achieve goals. Keep pushing!
Nelly was right about that whining noise........ rear end
Nice ss lucky when u put your touch on it then it will be right God bless u got your dream car God is gd all the time God bless your family
Good addition to the channel. 100k coming soon!! Congratulations on your dream whip!! It’s a keeper.
Actually the 71 and 72 are very desirable also. Just maybe not to you. Whats funny is people put the rear bumpers from the 71/72 on the 70.
Nice you actually seem happy like a different type from other purchases , setting right bc of the hard hustle! Yup no used car comes perfect you gotta spent to get close to it.
👍🏾💯🍀💪🏾
That holes should be always hook to the radiator neck . Its for the reserve tank
I've always liked the 1970 to 72 Chevelles. With the LT1 engine in this you can use this car as a daily and have the old school looks with the new school technology!
When U were test driving, didn't hear it burn rubber when U stopped & took off. And I didn't hear U ask about those wires hanging in da car either.
71-71 Chevelle is my dream car to bruh! Congrats on that big homie!
whoa whoa whoa! there's a problem with these year Chevelle 'bu's. i bought my son one years ago and when he was pulling away from a light it broke loose and went over the center divider, up and over the sidewalk and into a field with 4 flat tires and bent wheels!! CONGRATS, I hope you don't drive as bad as my son
Burn out, with back tires, leave the rims alone. Come on man. ✊😎
ITS NOT THE TUNE ITS THE FACT THAT HE PUT A TRUCK ENGINE INTO A DAMN CAR. SO IT RUNS LIKE A DAMN TRUCK NOW
My dream car.....well 68' to be exact. But that one is a close second. Love the taillights too
Please, please, please DONT change the rim/tire set up. Its a true classic as it is now! Best way to ruin these cars is up grading the rims of today. She is a real beauty as she sits, congrats man, you deserve it!!!
Do another video on this car later bro u won’t regret buying this car they only go up in value
Heavy hitta. Old school sitting right. Looking right. Sounds right. Hey that z71 looking tough too. She ain break a sweat. She can drag that trailer all day long
If you have 15inch wheels go with a 295 65 15 tires in the back & add some 411 gears in the rear end she good
To me, those early 70s Chevelles have such a sexy body shape! That aerodynamic curve around the rear! And those Corvette Rally wheels are the perfect look to go with that car!
WOW thhts a nice NICE car ! wow ! very very nice ! ( the paint guy did a A+ job repainting the door jams and underhood too !)
Beautiful car, and one of my personal faves for years -- but they can be a money pit as well. I'm NOT a mechanic, but I hear a loud bearing
noise when the hood is open (not to mention those electric fans which are loud as heck). I would have a mechanic do a checkout on it
to see if your power steering pump, water pump or alternator have a fried bearing.
Just need 88" chromed cartwheels, flashing LEDs underneath and lime green fluffy interior.
A Real guy who knows what a good Car is .👍👍🇨🇦
The whip looks really tight ,I'm glad you know your stuff I noticed that you were paying full attention to the car stayed focused.Alot of sellers tell you to put your foot in the gas to take your mind off the big picture ,yeah you want to make sure the car has the power Incase you have that craving but that's not that matter.Ive learned the hard way .Bit it is a nice ride it just needs a few things that the seller failed to mention til you addressed them. You didn't let the good looks and the raw sound from the car take your attention away. You know your stuff keep up the good work and you definitely got a serious machine.(The real deal )
Congratulations. It’s a beauty. Marina Blue. One of my favorites of the muscle car era.
New engine and new transmission!
You got lucky!
Nice job!
Used, new would be from Summit or GM. But it is LS swapped
All I can say is Congrats!! The ONLY problem after you get your dream car is where do you go from there.?
I wish you many 1000s of safe miles rolling in that beautiful ride....ENJOY!!!!
Shift works makes conversion kit to make factory shifter to work with modern trans
Bro that car is dope!! You should be good you got uncle to guide you....
All the hard work is done. Love the color and stripes. You'll love the LS.
Basically the same but it's a LT
NICE 👌, I would keep the tire brand and go with 295/50/15 for rear fronts 275/60/15 drop it down about an 1.5 all around. Fix that wine.
I have 255/60/15 on my Chevelle and they rub a little on the fronts with no drop. Same rims.
Transfer case that's good you got it fixed .you need to do some work on small stuff . congratulations 💯
Nice ride young man. Keep the dream alive with these classics. Side note: "Ol girl aint missed leg day in the gym in awhile!! Keep up the good vids.
The studs for the clip can be adjusted up. 5-minute fix.
Beautiful car Lucky! Powder coat them rims gotta put your lucky magic on it lol
Congrats Lucky, that boy is baaaaaddddddddd!!!! yeeeeeeh
Glad you finally got your dream car.
Lucky I’m with you when you right but wrong when you wrong! We do this for a living bro! IMO this was a BAD BUY. From the bad paint down to the unprofessional wiring. The guy had too many excuses for a 30k VINTAGE CAR. #YOUKNOWBETTER
Sounds look bottom end making some noise too I'll never buy another man's build
Shit was a horrible buy lol
The power steering pump is what's winding up front every time you turn it gets worse and worse you got to see what ca
Old school 🏫 cars have "plenty of character." There's a learning curve involved in the process; you'll learn plenty driving it around figuring out all the idiosyncrasies involved in owning a "classic." Car 🚗 shows give you a chance to mingle with other like 👍🏾minded gear ⚙ heads, swapping old school stories and speed secrets keeping your sexy and F A S T at the same time. SS Chevy Chevelle, classic muscle 💪🏿♥.
Congratulations bro.. Patients is key.. gotta get me a 1996 1995 Chevy impala ss. That’s still my dream car.. keep being humble keep being great my guy
SOUND LIKE MY NEW SILVERADO.
MANY MEN WISH THE COULD OWN SOMETHING LIKE THAT, SO HAPPY FOR YOU 👍
Yeeee!!!
You creeping up on 100k subs. Congratulations!!!!
I know y'all gone celebrate. ✌🏾
That's a good buy and the interior still looks good
I love the 71 Chevelle my dream version is black with silver rally stripes it's not a perfect car but having the modern power plant definitely is a plus -if I were you I'd have a holley efi system installed by someone you trust ,,,way better for engine management and you can add a ton of sensors down the road and really dial it in good luck with it man
Its an EFI already and a better unit than a Holley, he could put a different ECU in it though.
Check the Numbers, the interior is void of True SS Badging, soooooo it may
be a "Clone". Also the rear end looks to be a ford or mopar, definitely not GM.
