Good video. I also played the Technical Alpha 2 and 3 and sad to say they haven't made any substantial improvements, if at all, despite a lot of feedback in the official forums. You played 30 turns and barely anything has happened. They really needed to re-scale the territory chunks. 30 turns and look how much micromanagement you're doing. Imagine 130 turns? Also the Technical Alphas ran terribly for me despite being able to run games like Baldur's Gate 3 on Ultra. I'm going to hold off to see what updates they release for it, I hope they make some serious adjustments and optimizations. I want this game to succeed but I'm not really in a hurry for another 4x game when I already have a backlog a mile wide lmao
For people who don't have the game (i.e. everyone but you), it would have been cool to show what actually happens when the spearmen kill the wolves, etc. You skim over the animations a lot.
I talked with the devs, apparently there is "technically" no non-binary leaders in the game as it relates to the achievement, but with modding capabilities people can mod them in and still earn that achievement. It was something decided by Microsoft, and not really in control of most of the devs. They said the dev team is very politically diverse, and a lot of the more right wing developers are trying to help moderate the team to prevent it from feeling like it is trying to send a message. That said, there is one leader who some might consider non-binary, which is Osch Tosch (The like, leader of the Crow First Nation in Canada, who was born a biological male but is pronouned as a woman because of some weird two spirit thing.) Half the developers didn't even know this character existed, but to be honest, who the heck would play the Crow in the first place that doesn't already really like their culture? At the very least they didn't do any speculative history and change any european leaders, there is a cultural justification for this one, but its kind of a nothing burger because its a civ that I don't think any anti-woke player is gonna want to play in the first place.
At least have some balls and vote with your time rather than just your money. Don't be a coward and steal the game because there is one element of a game - a game, which is NEVER an accurate portrayal of reality, right? - you take umbrage with; be intellectually honest and don't play it at all.
Pretty cringe bro. Imagine being so insecure in your own identity that the idea that the idea of a non-binary leader, which we have a number of examples from history (Kristina of Sweden), puts you off a historical sandbox strategy game. It's sad that in the 21st century we have people like you who are still guided by outdated 19th century ideas of society and history.
