He was also being a giga bitch! using regen and bubbletear to regain health during a duel and basically running away spamming Dale Gribble pocket sand! lmao amazing gameplay.
Sadly he got greedy with the bow, trying to finish Chase off from a distance. Maybe low on FP for the rocks? Loved how he went all-in on the Stormveil setup though, even using the stormwing arrows and beast bow!
Yes he had two good chances, but his desire to win ranged worked against him - once with the rocks proccing a heal and once with the bow. Given his health post-regen, he probably should have tried going in for the kill since he'd still win on a trade.

The r1 not coming out at roughly 8:43 might have been caused with the weird bug that occurs when you jump while 2-handing a weapon. For whatever reason there is a pretty noticeable time where after you jump, your attack inputs will not register.
wonder if it's tied to the animation while carrying stuff that makes it so certain weapons how you hold them on Torrent controls wether you can fall and still double jump

Something similar happens when you switch weapons. I can't count the number of times I've died because I brought out a shield and had to wait what felt like eons after the animation ended to start swinging again.

If you're wondering why you disconnected from Ifan the first time around, it was the infamous 2min EAC disconnect, the duel started around 9:20 and ended at 11:20 in the video. I'm so afraid that once DS3 servers are finally back on PC, from & bamco will yeet EAC in there, causing similar issues. ;_;
15:50 Overhead jump, jump attack bait, stab I genuinelly had to see it again. Chase basically improvised that move on the spot and it looked like he danced through his opponent, and mind-tricked him into rolling to his death. It was beautiful

I actually fucking love this weapon for its unique one-handed moveset, honestly sad that you only ever see it dual wielded with seppuku and BHS. Glad you went a different route with occult.

Hey Chase, love your stuff! Couple quick builds I would love to see you play, though not singular weapons. With your weapon swapping style, I think it would be really interesting to see a Shield Hero build from you where you swap between a lot of different shields with unique ashes of war and such. And a roar build would be fun with the barbaric roar, troll roar, beast roar and others. I've been enjoying that build. It is best experienced with the fanged imp head on. The gaping mouth gives your roars a buff and I won't be convinced otherwise. If you can fit Greyoll's Roar, all the better.

Suppuko on occult weapons with inherent bleed and at least 50 arcane is insane. You gain tons of AR and the bleed is only a fraction less than bleed infused. It'll make any weapon good
It's such a blessing to see your duels with kinda good connection, today I played PvP and there were A LOT of latency problems, people were hitting me from miles away
@@Sol-hm7ol Not true, every single proc can be dodged, done it many times and everyone knows it. You can be roll caught if you rolling too frequently to the point of where people time you near the end yes. However bleed proc is 100% dodgeable and very easy too. Frost on the other hand is far more deadlier because it progressively slows you down.
@@daedalus_1994 yes and no, you can dodge the bleed proc by dodging the weapon, however if the weapon touches you (even if in I frames) your status will build up. The counter side is that you can also dodge the proc itself and receive no damage. Personally I’d prefer if the status didn’t build up at all during I frames as madness and sleep cannot be dodged. Also fast hitting bleed weapons can gain guaranteed hits from the stun (they recently nerfed the stun that was causing a rob combo at a certain level of arcane) I think it needs to be changed as status weapons are just too powerful in this game, especially for pvp
You should really try out Law of Regression in invasions, especially against spammers and buff stackers. It covers a massive area, something like 15+ rolls distance, and removes all (de)buffs, and status effects. Perfect for trolling casters xD
The Ifan reduel was fucking awesome. Love the intention to chip you with rocks and the bow, and it was satisfying seeing you read his panic rolls and win when he switched.

Been enjoying all your videos, they've really got me into invasions more, my first step into pvp was duels just to test the waters against real people and its been fun, been invading at 150 but started a new character to try out low level invasions, I'm looking forward to it once I get the recusants finger (I don't want bloody eyes)
Quick insight for the Spinning Strikes ash of war, if you press R1 or R2 while holding L2 your character will perform two different animations for each input, one spinning light attack for R1 and a spinning heavy attack for R2.

Absolutely hilarious how often Chase runs into invasion hosts who do nothing but spam Rivers of Blood L2. I feel embarrassed for these players who don't know how to do anything else.
I will be honest, I used Rivers to finish the game, but yeah, you have other moves. Mix in some light attacks, dual attacks, and jumping attacks. Then when you can catch them of guard and in close range smack them with Corpse Piler.
I think that we won't see many RoB hosts for too long. They don't love the game like we do. Making builds, nice fashion, fundamentals of pvp, lovely weapons since Deamon Souls... next Fortnite hype game will become their friend.

I was gonna say, Sax Slave Gael just did a showcase with a single Naginata and I was really surprised at how sexy its moveset it. He did slam meta slaves in the intro by showing the bullgoat dual-Naginata build saying "if you do this, get professional help" lol. I actually want to do a single Naginata run now because I had no idea its moveset was so nice
spinning strikes ash of war has an extend move as well when you do it a LT after spinning it a couple times it allows you to lunge into the air when you do it as well

I do love this Naginata's unique moveset! I wish a few other weapons would use it or something similar... Honestly, I wouldve been really happy if a couple 'halberds' were considered spears and used it instead. The sword-staff comes to mind as one that would've worked MUCH better with this moveset then it's own.
Sword Dance tip: Its an amazing Rivers of Blood counter (If they don't have enough poise or are on the second L1 of RoB) because of the dash. Its also good for roll catching.
I actually love Ifan's build. I'm a big fan of jack of all trades builds. The storm stomp and claymore, the rocks for medium range chips, the bow for long range and to top it off the regen to gain the advantage in drawn out fights. Was a lovely duel that one. :)
Duel wielding one frost and one bleed does insane damage with the l1 poke but it can be considered a cheesy build amongst the ROB, Moonveil, etc so I stopped using it although in all fairness i was using it when the game came out before it was popular.
I did a sekiro themed build with this using storm assault, dragonbolt blessing, and electrify armament. Along with a few shock spells and a off hand katana with storm caller to mess with people’s roll timing. Even got a wind themed parry with the storm wall ash of war which also lets me deflect arrows and knives.
I think that the Lazuli Glintstone sword would be a good one. I’m not sure your style for weapon showcases, but having the Lazuli as the first sword-and-board would be cool I think. Doesn’t really need dualwielding.
This was my main weapon on my first playthrough and when I finally hopped on PvP I was literally the only person who used it without a second one💀 Got surprising amount of wins with it tbh
I often do the light attacks you can change up the timing slightly and catch many guys who think you are done with chain of attacks press r1 like 5 times but mix up doing it slowly and fast as long as it’s within a second or two of each attack you will do the moves
well I want to talk about this weapon 1: the moveset is freaking amazing it's also fast really fast and the range is there you can feel it 2: the damage is kinda OK it could be better though, but it has that bleed you gotta remember that 3: this weapons shines most when dual wield and if you don't another naginata to do that you can use bolt of gransax as an option 4: it's a faster version of guardian sowrdspear but with less damage over all, but it has that bleed to compensate for that 5: it's a weapon which you can change the ash of war which makes it a great choice just because of that all in all it's difficult to say which one is better between naginata or guardian swordspear guardian feels better because it has more damage, but it is slower and if you can dual wield it your going to do loads damage, but it's not like you need it to do good damage naginata is faster, but it kinda lacks damage which makes it kinda of dependent on the bleed or the dual wield, but that isn't reason enough to say that it's bad and you can improve the damage of this weapon in many ways
Repeating thrust with a good amount of poise can be really fun. Just go for the trade and it'll be over pretty soon for whoever decided to be aggressive 😂

Piercing Fang is like a giant hunt with a confusing delay and more reach. Harder to use but it stronk.
in my opinion, the fact that it's so delayed actually makes it really strong because it usually forces one panic roll and hits after the roll

The flowing R1s that this weapon has is simply beautiful.
spinning strikes ash of war has an extend move as well when you do it a LT after spinning it a couple times it allows you to lunge into the air when you do it as well
i love the quiet excitement when chase finds a worthy foe :D
This thing is pretty great with cold and the frost lance for the great shield users

You actually can get to that area in farum, if you drop down and then take the elevator up you can drop down onto the site of grace

The mage in the first invasion might have been using a soreseal which might be the reason why you hit a 1000 damage in one hit.

I do love this Naginata's unique moveset! I wish a few other weapons would use it or something similar...
Honestly, I wouldve been really happy if a couple 'halberds' were considered spears and used it instead.
The sword-staff comes to mind as one that would've worked MUCH better with this moveset then it's own.
Very cool two-handed moveset, determined to use it now.
Sword Dance tip: Its an amazing Rivers of Blood counter (If they don't have enough poise or are on the second L1 of RoB) because of the dash. Its also good for roll catching.
I actually love Ifan's build. I'm a big fan of jack of all trades builds. The storm stomp and claymore, the rocks for medium range chips, the bow for long range and to top it off the regen to gain the advantage in drawn out fights. Was a lovely duel that one. :)
Being using the Naginata a lot recently, this is great! Can't decide between Black Flame Tornado or Spinning Strikes with Black Flame Blade on it.
Black flame tornado is great for thirsty gankers
Ifan’s variety of attacks was impressive
Duel wielding one frost and one bleed does insane damage with the l1 poke but it can be considered a cheesy build amongst the ROB, Moonveil, etc so I stopped using it although in all fairness i was using it when the game came out before it was popular.
love the Holy Grail - Tim the Enchanter - reference. Sadly not ram/horn helmet to really get that cosplay convincing
I did a sekiro themed build with this using storm assault, dragonbolt blessing, and electrify armament. Along with a few shock spells and a off hand katana with storm caller to mess with people’s roll timing. Even got a wind themed parry with the storm wall ash of war which also lets me deflect arrows and knives.
Give chase an inch, and he will take a mile. Ifan learned it the hard way, but damn that was an incredible fight. Had me on the edge of my seat
Please do the Nox Flowing Hammer! The ashe of war has very good poise and insane range. It's very punishing, especially in invasions.

When I first used this weapon, I was ecstatic about the moveset. Made that octopus cave my favorite area.

I think that the Lazuli Glintstone sword would be a good one. I’m not sure your style for weapon showcases, but having the Lazuli as the first sword-and-board would be cool I think. Doesn’t really need dualwielding.

Chase is that extremely hard boss battle that lasted forever, and you're one hit away from killing it but you get impatient, choke, and die

Storm assault with blood flame blade incantation with this weapon is so OP
I often do the light attacks you can change up the timing slightly and catch many guys who think you are done with chain of attacks press r1 like 5 times but mix up doing it slowly and fast as long as it’s within a second or two of each attack you will do the moves
well I want to talk about this weapon
1: the moveset is freaking amazing it's also fast really fast and the range is there you can feel it
2: the damage is kinda OK it could be better though, but it has that bleed you gotta remember that
3: this weapons shines most when dual wield and if you don't another naginata to do that you can use bolt of gransax as an option
4: it's a faster version of guardian sowrdspear but with less damage over all, but it has that bleed to compensate for that
5: it's a weapon which you can change the ash of war which makes it a great choice just because of that
all in all it's difficult to say which one is better between naginata or guardian swordspear
guardian feels better because it has more damage, but it is slower and if you can dual wield it your going to do loads damage, but it's not like you need it to do good damage
naginata is faster, but it kinda lacks damage which makes it kinda of dependent on the bleed or the dual wield, but that isn't reason enough to say that it's bad and you can improve the damage of this weapon in many ways
I have that same quandary about those two.
I would like to see the claw finger next or the hammer. Those would be fun to see.
Most underrated weapon. Dual wielding this thing with bloodhound step 110% counters rivers of blood.
Repeating thrust with a good amount of poise can be really fun. Just go for the trade and it'll be over pretty soon for whoever decided to be aggressive 😂
