I owned a Honda Odyssey Elite back in 2010 when my kids were little. I traded it for a large SUV. I remember taking that middle seat out, and it sat in my garage for as long as I owned the car. I just bought a Chrysler Pacifica as a secondary car for road trips, traveling to the beach, taking the dogs to the vet, etc. If you need to frequently reconfigure your car because you are moving things and people, get the Pacifica. The ability to very easily stow the seats and make the back completely flat is just an awesome feature. I can't imagine having to drag those heavy seats in and out of the car. If you have little kids in car seats, I think the Odyssey or the Sienna is a great option. If you have older kids out of car seats, and you use the minivan more for moving things, get the Pacifica.
Wonderful advice for those who can afford a large SUV in addition to a minivan. For those who can’t you may want to consider a more reliable product than what Chrysler can provide.
Accurate. It’s definitely not something you’d want to do everyday. Once you have that middle seat out, though, those magic slide seats are truly magical! ~Child Passenger Safety Technician (and Dan Ashley’s daughter!)
I'm most impressed that neither of the outer seats appear to have been scratched by dragging the sides and bottom of the middle seat over the surfaces.
Obviously lifting weights is not enough. You need to lift Honda Seats if you really want to buff out.☠☠ And you wonder why I love this channel... You are just precious.
Thank you for showing your struggle. I can relate. This odious task is upcoming for my minivan journey. I’ll probably forego removing the stow and go seats and opt for a rooftop cargo carrier.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!! It shows real life where people try to do these ‘easy tasks’ but they end up being so much harder lol Loved when the door was locked, I said to myself, ‘my luck’ 😂😂😂
I prefer how the Kia Carnival has that center console that can be pushed all the way back... I purchased a Kia; but they didn't actually have the car they sold me; and so I went and purchased a Honda... Only thing I prefer on a Kia.. that center that slides forward and backwards; way more useful than the Honda magic seats.
Give me this car with SH-AWD and Sport Hybrid I will be totally happy as it will be perfect and versatile. Or add this second row into MDX (+Sport Hybrid system)
I am female, used to be an athlete, 5'5" don't really lift anymore, I had no problem lifting it. When you're 95 lbs it's not really accurate to make a general comparison to all females, you're on the low end of the spectrum for size. It came out easily for me and I carried it upstairs to my bedroom with no problem! I agree it's not something I would want to do everyday, maybe 2x year or something because its awkward to carry
You don't have to take it out.. There's a space Infront of the seats at the bottom where that seat can hide underground.. You're clearly no aware of the features and never read the manual
in case you did not find it. on my car (not a van) the ceiling belt clicks into a smaller reciever then slides over to the seat like other seatbelts do.
@@jillciminillo yeah that's what I thought too when I removed mine. I didn't think it was that heavy until I watched another video after this one from the Honda dealership that said it's about 40 lbs. And the outside seats are 55-60 lbs
You can also fold down the 3rd row and slide it out the back. That way you don’t have to do the awkward maneuvering over the seat.
Why this comment isn’t at the top of the list with most likes?
Because this nation has gotten dumb.

I had to laugh at this video. The struggle is real. Jill vs. Magic Seat! We need to see the re-match!!! 😍😀😍

👋 Hi Arden!! Sometimes I wonder if it’s just me! I always laugh when dudes make it look so easy!
Most genuine video out there. Kudos to you my friend. Well done!
I'm most impressed that neither of the outer seats appear to have been scratched by dragging the sides and bottom of the middle seat over the surfaces.
You are supposed to lift it not drag it

Thank you for this information! I just bought an Odyssey and didn't know the seats slide!
This is pure comedy 😂 shows the reality of how hard something and be and yet me made to sound so easy

Loved when the door was locked, I said to myself, ‘my luck’ 😂😂😂
Always my luck, too 🤣
thank you for the realism of this action.
Thanks for posting an HONEST review of the seat removal!
love how real she is
This is much easier for most men. I have removed and installed this few times, very easy.
Can't wait to watch the video of you removing the magic seat.
Cutest seats review ever!
😊
Ok, I’m heading out to my can to take out this very seat!! Thank you!
Jill....again, always informative with a dash of humor to keep things from being boring. (maybe more free weights at the gym? bulk up?) :-)
Lol. I’m as bulky as I want to be. 🤣
thank you for this video... this is soooo me and realistic!
I'm wincing watching you put the metal part on those seats. Looks like no damage though.
Exactly the video I was looking for, thank you!! 😃🙏👍
🙌
Wish they folded into the floor like Chrysler

I heard the seats don't slide side to side anymore after the recall repairs.

I had an original Dodge mini van. Two bench seats if memory serves,no party.
Accurate, but she has clearly not taken seats out of my van. Way easier than the Nissan NV seats.

Calm down mrs marvel
I feel she did an outstanding job with the demo .
Not knocking the demo, just saying that 95 lbs. is below average. It is worth mentioning. Good demo. Just a smaller person.
Seat itself is light compared to 2018 model Odyssey (triple the weight) :)
got it.... another reason to NOT buy a Honda Odyssey.... In Dodge/Chrysler vans, 2nd row drop into the floor. Much easier.
I did that and it looked exactly like that! LOL
Is it just me the fact that you have to remove the second row completle rather than fold if down flat is stupid
Thanks 😂
Seems like the seat simply shouldn't exist.
Oh wow …. Great effort you managed to lift that thing and put it back again…. Now Who needs a gym
nice try!😍
Now do this same video but in summertime wearing a bikini and you'll get 1 million likes....😊
You’re so dramatic 😂
Lord have mercy

lol you mean where the spare tire is? 🤔
cutie
I didnt like this video because you didn show how to remove that middle seat belt so it can go into the ceiling.
Yes I’m having trouble finding this information too
in case you did not find it. on my car (not a van) the ceiling belt clicks into a smaller reciever then slides over to the seat like other seatbelts do.
Lol 95 lbs
so fun to see you whatever 😂👍
95 lbs...mhm
How much do you think I weigh? I’m 5 ft tall. 🤷🏻♀️
It's 40 lbs
Then I feel a lot stronger than I thought I was.

Women...
Men...
I'm sorry but this was embarrassing and way to contribute to sexist stereotypes.
Actually, your comment did that 🤷🏻♀️
There is no such thing as sexist stereotypes. There is sex difference.
@@georgiaguardian4696 objectively there is sexism stereotypes just not in this video
